NVIDIA to release GeForce Titan

From Tom's:

That's using just air...

As for me... I'm definitely going with a 1000W Power Supply now.

I keep reading around various forums and people spend every waking moment trying to trash talk the Titan and belittle everyone buying them apparently. You know what that means? EXCLUSIVE CLUB, OH YEAH!

Mind posting links? I want to see all dat salt.

What's so funny is this "nvidiots" term that they use. What's even funnier is that everything they are trying to down talk this card with are all dual GPU cards or SLI/Crossfire setups.

Their forum is just so cringey at times.

Indeed, they have some really annoying fanboys and shittalkers that gets a free pass from the moderators apparently. Only reason I visit is because there's some good information on the Titan and the guy from OCuk updates on stock, price etc.

I can't stand the OcUK forums, mostly because I can't stand their store. I like how their forums are gangster-themed though, probably the same inspiration for the customer service they provide.

The gangster stuff really gets me. How can any self-respecting company have a forum like that? It's worse than having various woman on your monitor product pics.
Sounds like you've had a bad experience :P ?

That place is cancer.

It's pretty decent with free delivery as a 'loyal' forum poster. Avoid the general discussion forum like a plague though, it's a slew of bigoted, far-right lunatics most of the time. Even the prior owner was a member of the EDL or some other far right nonsensical bollocks.

Only if you live on the mainland UK, they still hate us over in Northern Ireland.

Oh so it's like GAF off-topic section except GAF is far-left LGBT warriors.

Never had any problems with them, outside of their awful forum of course.

I haven't ordered from them, but i did mean the forum.

Yeah, that's the only draw i guess. I have the benefit of having free delivery from most of the other etailers in the country and prices are so competitive across most of the English etailers i avoid OcUK for the most part.

I tend to avoid the ones who charge through the arse to deliver to Northern Ireland, so Amazon gets most of my business. Doesn't hurt that they're usually the cheapest too and have by far the best customer service.

AriaPC actually removed the woman from their monitors and seen sales decrease.

I know i shouldn't have been surprised, but i still can't believe people make a purchasing decision over some semi-decent torso.

Well duh, the model comes with the monitor, didn't you know?

Guru3D:
Here is Guru3D's power supply recommendation:

GeForce GTX Titan - On your average system the card requires you to have a 550 Watt power supply unit.
GeForce GTX Titan 2-way SLI - On your average system the cards require you to have a 800 Watt power supply unit as minimum.
GeForce GTX Titan 3-way SLI - On your average system the cards require you to have a 1200 Watt power supply unit as minimum.

If you are going to overclock your GPU or processor, then we do recommend you purchase something with some more stamina.

Nice. I can use my EVGA NEX1500s OC capability (1650W) - http://1pcent.com/?p=123.

Looks like you can only go up to three-way SLI? What's up with that? - http://www.nvidia.com/titan-graphics-card/ultimate-gaming.

yeah you can ... but it's kinda totally unnecessary :p

System : Intel Core i7 3770K @ 4.5 GHz , Asus P8Z77-V PRO

kind of surprising that this thing is using only marginally more than the 680 ... I would assume they'd have gone for 7970(GHz edition)-like power usage to max out the performance

yeah you can increase the voltage, but that +0,015V isn't going to make a big difference probably ;)

seems like a 3 card limit indeed :

NVIDIA SLI Technology1
Used by the most demanding gamers worldwide, SLI technology lets you link up to three GeForce GTX Titans together for astounding performance. And with NVIDIA’s track record for fast and frequent software updates, you’ll not only get the best performance in existing games, but future games too.

weird ... is it using different SLI technology or something that needs more bandwidth ?

Yeah, I'll wait for the 700 series. My 570 is still layin shit down just fine for now.

Yeah as a person that is getting a Titan (well hopefully if I can score one), there is a lot of threads all over that are bashing people for buying it. It happens here at times, but not as bad as other forums. For me, I know people think I am a little nuts being that I game on my 55" Sony XBR HDTV so that means 1080p at max and I currently have a GTX 690 on Water along side a 3930x overclocked to 4.8 on water as well with a ASUS Rampage IV Mobo. Even with that, there are games that I cannot max at 60fps and every option turned to it's max. Witcher 2 is a good example *uber mode* as well as Metro 2033 and a few others. I hear Crysis 3 I would not be able to max.

I am one of those gamers that wants to load a game up and put every possible option in the menu to the max and when I cannot achieve this, then I look for set ups that will allow it. I guess it just bugs me that if I can't do this that I feel that I am not playing the game at it's ultimate IQ at my resolution, so I eathier try to OC a bit more or look at new hardware (Hi Titan! :). Now for those that are going to say that all the reports are saying a Titan is slightly below a 690 so why would I go with a Titan??? Well, I am looking at 2 Titan's in SLI, so that is what I am gunning for.

I know very well that someone will say it is a waste of money or that I am insane or whatever and I know everyone is entitled to their own opinion. For me, I aim to maximize my games and will buy what I need to achieve this. To me it is just money and when I die it aint going to go with me, so I would rather buy what I want to buy and enjoy it for what it is. I work hard, I earn a great living, I plan to get married early next year and my Girlfriend likes that this is my hobby along with console gaming and home theatre versus being a heavy drinker, drug addict, drinking with the boys and getting into potential trouble.

But it is amusing how others ridicule how people spend their money. I guess I can understand if they know the person and the person is forgoing making the morgage payment or skipping a car payment to buy a new toy, but sometimes some of these guys go overboard. I love the "if you buy a Titan, you are a idiot" or "Buying a Titan is for people that want to show how big their E-peen is". lol

Crysis 3 can barely max out on a 680 SLI. FPS is all over the place (50-60 with dips).

Then again, you are gaming at 1080p. Although if you SLI Titan, lol well. I seriously can't wait to see performance numbers for Titan in SLI. Has to be insane.

They're just jealous.
