NX will launch in March 2017 globally, won't be at E3 (focusing on Zelda instead)

Perhaps all of their 1st party developers, sans Game Freak, have shifted 100% of their resources to NX. So there's nothing to show
I'mn sure that's true, but I was referring to the NX not being at E3.
Who really cares? Most everyone has moved to other consoles anyway as their primary machines. There's plenty on those to play compared to Wii U.

I'm pretty sure the guy he quoted cares given his post.

They're going to have this huge booth just for Zelda? Absolutely unbelievable.

If 100% of your resources have shifted to your new console, why use the biggest gaming event in the world to show the very few games coming out for your old console that hasnt sold well whose successor will be out in less than a year?

Well I know believe the rumours that devs haven't actually received NX dev kits.

So, Skyward Sword HD this christmas then?

If they release WW, TP and SS remakes on the same home console within 4 years, that to me points to a handheld centric future.

Even TP I thought was a suspicious move, I mean now they don't have many more games to remake in future gens.

WiiU has been a unmitigated disaster in every sense and with the perfect opportunity to come out all guns blazing they go and do something like this.

That being said, I am not suprised at all. This in Nintendo.

I dont think they will ever change.

They really have no idea what they are doing.

How are they going to market it after the reveal when E3 has come and gone and only enthusiasts are going to go out of their way to watch Nintendo stuff (since I'm sure they won't even do Gamescom or something)?

Only enthusiasts care about E3.

A personal event is the better way to announce the console in the year 2016. E3 is not as important as it used to be.

Anyhow, now it makes sense that we dont know shit about the console, I expect that we are going to get tons of leaks about it after E3 . Nintendo is totally going to have multiple meetings with devs, retailers, etc about the NX.

no they aren't.

No new home console until march.
March home console launch.
No Wii U games incoming.
Zelda delayed.
No E3 show for NX.
No E3 show for nothing.
Only Zelda at E3.
Two major IPs coming to mobile, to fill that (intentional, at this point?) gap.

I mean: it is pretty clear how Nintendo is dimantling its (previously) core home console business.

Pack it up.

I can see it at least with portable business. I won't be surprised if Pokemon Sun and Moon comes to 3ds/Android/iOS

So what does this mean for tree house live? Is it dead this year or are we just gonna see a crap load of Zelda? It has to be dead right? :(
Well they said Zelda will be the only one playable for the public. That doesn't mean Treehouse can't play anything that isn't playable on the show floor.

But yeah, probably a lot of Zelda.

It has to be NX, why would they show us a dumbed down version... ARGHHH NINTENDO 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡

Because they want people to keep buying WiiU's - i mean start buying WiiU's

Oh shit, I missed ALL of tonight's NX news.

HOLY FUCK - March 2017 launch. Zelda delayed til 2017, coming to Wii U and NX

Holy Fuck.

HOLY FUCK

At this point, it's not even worth the trouble for Nintendo to attend E3. There is almost nothing left to show on the Wii U side (we know how Paper Mario will turn out) and the 3DS (depending on your tastes with Kirby, Metroid, and JRPGs) can only hold them along for a few months this year.

This is going to be their ugliest holiday for sure.

I am thinking nx will be centered on their handheld business. And if that is the case...

I support their great titles when they come but in the end it felt like it was like getting blood from a stone and I just walked away. I admired them from afar but Jesus, their attitude makes it so hard to continue being hyped for their products

you sure missed out on a lot of great WiiU games then

So now that I've had a shower, got up and gone to work. Who would've thought that 2016 (the year with a mainline Pokemon and console Zelda releases) will probably go down in history as Nintendo's Annus Horribilis

Not sure if it's been posted yet, but here is the full message regarding Zelda @ E3.

E3: Nintendo changes its approach to the show every year. This June, Nintendo will focus its attentions on the upcoming game in The Legend of Zelda series. The Wii U version of the game will be playable for the first time on the E3 show floor, and it will be the only playable game Nintendo presents at the show, in order to provide attendees a complete immersion. Additional information about Nintendo’s E3 plans will be announced in the future.

That's what they're saying. They're not exactly going to say they're focusing on x unannounced game. The wording on that quote is ambiguous as well, Zelda U may be the only playable game but it sure as hell won't be the only one there. Nintendo may be crazy but they're not crazy enough to have a console go 11 months with only one game.
For our sake, I hope you're right. But Nintendo didn't really have anything really new or impressive last E3, and that's when they made a choice to not show the game most people wanted to see. If their unannounced Wii U games are on the same level as Star Fox and Color Splash, then I can't say I'd have much of an interest.
