Forbes via Taul Passi: Marathon is in the dark, won't be at State of Play

In a perfect dark, where it belongs.

They're going the route I said they would, wind down news, stop reporting, stop showing, drop some destiny 3 news even if it's pre rendered shit, sunset this in the background and we'll 'come back to it at a later date'

Or just do the ruthless Microsoft move and announce it's cancelled and binned, these developers on both sides have been given way to much leeway and time and money to produce this shit.

Feel no ill will seeing things cancelled from Sony or Microsoft if the teams don't deliver.

Just put in new mode into Destiny. This isn't worthy of a dedicated release, unless complimented by a stellar Single Player campaign worthy of the Sony brand from years past.

do you really think resistance or killzone can sell 10 million... i have serious doubts.

I don't want to interfere with peoples' wishcasting but I think people crazily overestimate the popularity of these series.
Yeah man, Killzone Shadow Fall didn't even crack 3 mil and it was one of like 4 launch games for the PS4. Early PS4 was pretty barren on "next-gen" games the first 6 months

Resistance 3 is the best game in that series and I don't think it even cracked 2 mil

Still seemingly not too bad by comparison of launch window titles:

PS4 Launch Window Games (Nov 2013–Mar 2014) Including Third-Party TitlesThe PS4 launch window (November 2013–March 2014) featured a mix of Sony first-party exclusives and major third-party cross-platform titles. Third-party games dominated early sales due to the console's limited library at launch. Below is a table of key releases with global sales data (physical + digital, PS4-specific where available; lifetime figures unless noted, as launch-window breakdowns are rare). Data draws from analyst estimates (e.g., VGChartz) and publisher reports.

TitlePublisher/DeveloperRelease DateLifetime Sales (Millions, PS4)Notes/Source
Killzone Shadow FallSony / Guerrilla GamesNov 2013<4First-party launch exclusive; ~700K digital. Weak long-tail sales.
Call of Duty: GhostsActivision / Infinity WardNov 201315+ (global; ~3–4 PS4)Third-party launch hit; topped US charts in Nov 2013 with ~1M US units in first month.
FIFA 14EA / EA CanadaNov 20132.5+Third-party sports staple; strong in Europe; bundled with many consoles.
Battlefield 4EA / DICENov 201311+ (global; ~2–3 PS4)Third-party multiplayer focus; UK #2 in launch week; sales down 69% vs. Battlefield 3 due to gen transition.
Assassin's Creed IV: Black FlagUbisoft / Ubisoft MontrealNov 2013~1–2 (PS4 est.)Third-party open-world; UK #1 in launch week; total franchise >11M by 2014.
Injustice: Gods Among UsWarner Bros. / NetherRealmNov 20130.5+Third-party fighting game; modest launch sales.
NBA 2K142K Sports / Visual ConceptsNov 20131+Third-party basketball sim; strong US attach rate.
Infamous: Second SonSony / Sucker PunchMar 20146+First-party exclusive; 1M in first 9 days; boosted late-window sales.
MLB 14: The ShowSony / San Diego StudioMay 2014*0.5+First-party baseball; strong in North America.

*MLB 14 released just after March but contributed to early momentum.
Key Insights: Third-party titles like Call of Duty: Ghosts and Assassin's Creed IV drove ~80% of launch software attach rates, with total PS4 software sales hitting ~8.9M units in 2013 alone. First-party games underperformed initially but gained via bundles. By end of window, PS4 sold ~7M consoles globally, with software attach ~1.3x.

Neither Resistance 1, 2, 3, nor Killzone 1, 2, 3, 4 ever sold more than 3-4 million units. Based on the numbers, players are not tired of live service games. When was the last time a military FPS game not named Call of Duty sold more than 10 million?

I love both those franchises, but there's a reason they haven't come back in over 10 years.

Something like Horizon has a much wider appeal in this day and age than Killzone and Resistance. If either of these games come back, they're definitely coming back as live service MP games of some kind.

That's what they said last month, but I wouldn't be surprised if that changes.
Im okay with Killzone and Resistance as gaas, those two are perfect as a gaas game just like hd2, but i still prefer with a single player story mode and a traditional online mp like cod or bf. I dont like this colorful and twisted woke agenda and dei infested gaas with those pronouns and trans crap and uglifying the characters, that sony had made like concord, marathon, fairgames and even this gummy bears.

It would be funny to me that they actually release the game and it flops hard, imagine what would Sony do about all of those "we've learned our lessons after Concord" statements they have released so far.

Isnt there currently an Alpha test happening for Marathon?

Called it.
Why did Sony even bother with Haven knowing Jade was in charge.
Shoulda bought exclusivity and saved the money for Concord 2.

Jade Raymond.
The breaker of promises.
At this point I dont think shes ever gonna actually produce a game that makes it to market.
Even with Sony backing Haven Studios I wouldnt be shocked if down the line of production she leaves and goes to another studio where she can NOT release a product there too.

The last game she actually produced was Assassins Creed in 2007.

Whatever Haven Studios is working on.

Just kidding this game is probably never coming out and Jade Raymond will leave the company leaving the project in limbo to become a PS+ title we all forget actually came out.
