I haven't looked forward to a WWE event since the last NXT special. Two hours almost doesn't seem like enough time, but the previous specials have been really well paced so I have faith. Also, I think it's too early to a Bull/Corbin blowoff. They need to spend a few more weeks trying to out-squash one another so I can feel like there is some real animosity there.
With titles changing and movement on the roster, NXT will look pretty different in the coming months. I'm interested to see what happens with Itami and Balor after this because they don't seem like a full time tag team.

I doubt it'll happen, but I'm kind of pulling for a Balor heel turn. When WWE hired him they had to of seen some of his top notch heel work he was doing in Japan. Sure, he's got the whole body paint thing which will make him over as fuck, but I want to see an over-confident, cheating, dirty Devitt that makes you just want to punch him right in the face and boo as loud as you can. Sure there's the Ascension and Vaudevillains, but I can't really think of any true heels in NXT that just feel legitimate.

That's an oversimplification of the feud.
The Ascension just lost the tag team titles, titles they've held for a long time, and were frustrated, so they thought they could do what they've been doing for an entire year, run through anyone they want. They chose to take out the new guy KENTA, but to their surprise, KENTA fought back. Now the Ascension are pissed off because someone dared to step up to them, something that hasn't happened in over a year.

It's ok you typed Hideo, I don't think those guys hate KENTA, I mean he probably is quite a nice and humble guy, they might look up to him if they are into puro. Good to keep the NXT characters into NXT storylines and don't mix them with outside stuff.

It's what sucks, I really don't want to have to call Devitt "Finn Balor" since I just think that name is lame, but it sounds like they were all forced to change their names and he's going to be known as that for at the very least several years if not forever, so holding onto it isn't going to serve anyone.
It's for the best to just accept the new names and move on.

I will be shocked if they do let him keep it. The piledriver has been a taboo move for the WWE for awhile. They still allow the Tombstone variant, but that's it.
At Takeover II, The Ascension - incensed with losing the title belts earlier in the night - confronted GM William Regal while he was introducing Hideo, demanding a rematch for the titles and tossing Hideo out of the ring like he was an afterthought. Hideo didn't take too kindly to that, jumped back in the ring and ended up tossing both members of The Ascension out - more than embarrassing for a team who'd not been overwhelmed by two men up until that point, never mind one guy by himself. It's not been the most exciting feud but the motivation absolutely exists.
NXT is essentially non-canon - e.g. nobody brings up that time Ziggler beat Rusev.
They can make exceptions to that. The piledriver ban stems from a time when they were really scared of all the new people on their roster taking a piledriver poorly and dying. They don't have that same problem now, although Steen getting to use a piledriver on NXT doesn't mean he gets to do it on the main roster.

I just realised CJ Parker is Pamela Anderson's character from Baywatch. Anywho, he started out in IWA-MS and AAW around 2009, so entirely possible Seth and co. ran in to him at various shows. Incidentally, he used to be called Juice Robinson. This guy sure knows how to pick his ring names.
I remember reading that they may take away the driver in favor of the rolling splash he does.
