Place is a change of pace. Bars I mostly been going to are the loud college bars. Fat Cat is laid back and a nice chill place. Few bodies of mine went there day after St.Pattys day. It was dead hung out played games of pool. 3 dollar PBR cans.

All right guys, it looks there's been a change of plans. This month's meet up is officially off the table. I've made plans for Saturday. If you guys want to meet up, then you're welcome to do so but I definitely won't be able to make it. But do make sure to have fun in the true spirit of GAF meet ups.

That being said, I'm going to PM a mod to change the thread title to "May 2013 Meet Up: Fat Cat Frolicking Friday" or some other witty title in several minutes. We already have the place, time, and date locked down so we definitely shouldn't have a problem getting people to go. I'll also make a new banner to reflect the change and edit the OP now.

Aww, that sucks man. The president of my college's student government is Filipino. He just turned 22 today and looks much younger. I thought he was at least 19 or 20. You guys barely age!

Rise from yo gwave NYC GAF. After a fabulous February Friday night meet up last month, March has been taken off for some much needed R&R. I hope March has been good to you all because from here on out, meet ups will be every two months. Spring is finally here again so put away the heavy coats, scarves, and hats because things are warming up. May means final exams and even warmer weather so say hello to Spring.

I used to that with my brothers when I was under 21 and had underage friends all the time because my brothers were over 21. No harm was done to the business; no underage drinking was done.

All right, time for a quick update. I've updated the OP and added in some additional information including a break down of the night's agenda, the fact that it's open to under 21 GAF members, and added in a picture of a fat cat with my own custom meme description for it. I've also moved things around. Still need to whip up an official banner which I will get to (maybe I'll do it now before I do anything else).

Any way, it's a freakin' lazy Thursday since my class for today got canceled and I'm feeling lazy to go down to school (there is a free alcohol event which is why I wanna go) among other things that I have to do. At least there's the weekend to look forward to.

I hope you guys all have a wonderful weekend. Remember, if anybody was disappointed that there wasn't a meet up this month, you guys are welcome to hang out. PM each other for ya numbers and go have fun without me.

Hopefully I get to see more familiar faces but I would definitely love to have these meetups with regularity. Not monthly but bi-weekly. It would probably be the only way I would remember everyone and not have to constantly reintroduce myself.

Welcome back. I would argue that the idea of having a bi-weekly thing would involve getting people's numbers and meeting up without the need to make a thread. I'm sure there's plenty of GAF members that have become decent friends outside the forum which is great.

These meet ups exist monthly to let people know that there are GAF members who live around them, give them a chance to come have some fun, and to celebrate GAF like Mully said. If people make friends out of these meet ups, then that's fantastic. Bu for all intents and purposes, meet ups will still function as a bi-monthly thing to prevent meet up fatigue. Unless there's special events, then they can be monthly as well. There are no real rules, but the bi-monthly thing is something that we more or less decided upon in the NYC thread.

Any way, I've been keeping up with your struggles. My bro's going through a similar thing where he's out of college, working in a retail job and trying to figure out what to do with his life.

Chin up man. For every door that closes, another one opens up. Struggle is indeed universal and that's what makes us human. So hang in there strong and don't ever give up. You're bound to get hired somewhere eventually. If you want to do something meaningful though, I would suggest volunteering somewhere. It's good for your resume and you'll meet people which will keep you sane during these tough times. In the mean time, you should keep doing what you love on the side.

I suppose I'll add those places that I found to the OP now then. But I agree, it's typically spur of the moment improvisation that leads to us crawling into the most crazy dive bars in the city and occasionally chill bars. But that's what makes it fun.

I'm going to make an effort to keep bumping this thread daily for visibility and so people won't forget. I'll also cross post in it in the NYC thread since I know a couple of folks know about these things through there. We gotta build up some much needed interest and excitement for these things considering the frequency it's happening at now. I'm serious about making this thing happen for sure.

Oh so you've been reading, that's good. It's definitely one of my favorite bars in the city. I love how chill the atmosphere is. I instantly fell in love with the place the first time we went there. By the way, congrats on getting the key to city. It's amazing how your brother left such a great legacy that it's stemmed a holiday in Kentucky.
