You're totally welcome to join us. It's not exclusive to NYC GAF only; we've had several GAF members from abroad join us in the past as well as GAF members from other states. People from Sweden (Ledsen); people from Australia; people from Scotland. Just like the city promotes diversity, so do we.
@PXG, I've tried chasing down people via PM in the past, but honestly, it's hasn't been worth my time. The way I see it, one person doesn't have more value than the other person. If people see the thread, then they'll post if they want to come. If they don't, then my feelings aren't hurt either way. We still have a good time either way. There's a ton of NYC GAF members that I would love to meet in person that have yet to come out to a meet up; several names come to mind. So don't get me wrong, I want there to be a large turnout but it's up to the individual ultimately to post. I don't mean to sound like a douche, but I'm being sincere.
The idea of having an NYC thread in OT Community has been kicking around in my head so more people can have a thread to "hang out" at and get those other GAF members to post. Hell, I've even thought about making a podcast as well.

The short drunk girl, Emily was her name, was in the middle of giving me her number when her friends took her off. I texted myself from her phone, but it never went through, lol. She came to me too. She seemed nice, even if she was plastered. She made sip her drink. It was awful. She was cute. I'm not into super short, super skinny girls, but she was alright. Needed more meat

Lucky you man. This upcoming week is my last week of classes, then the following week, I have finals (well more like one final that I have to sit down and study for; the other is to make a comic and submit it).
I also owe a huge amount of thanks to PXG as he's pulled a couple of strings for me by contacting a bunch of people and keeping the thread alive. I couldn't have done this alone but nonetheless, you're welcome; I don't get that often. I do these meet ups with a labor of love.
Any way, I'm pretty happy with how quickly this thread has been gathering steam. If the current attendance list is any indicator, it looks like we're going to have a decent mix of new and familiar faces once again. That I like. I expect more people to pop into the thread in the next 5 days to come. I'm sure we're going to have a pretty damn good time.

I'm going to stay at the New York Loft Hostel along the L-line (the stop is Morgan). It's at Varet Street. Do you think it should be safe around that area during nighttime?
That's literally like a 10 minute walk from my apartment. If you stay near the Morgan stop, you'll be fine, but don't venture south of there (there are some pretty bad projects south of there near Broadway). The area is very industrial and grimey, but the past few years it's been getting increasingly gentrified. Good thing is that you're right next to Roberta's and Momo Sushi Shack, both of which are two of my favorite food spots in the city.
