To be honest, I couldn't tell you what GamerGate was. I've been on GAF for years (almost exclusively OT) and I've heard the term but when I made the effort to Google it I found the whole thing so confusing that I gave up and moved on. It makes sense that the President's cabinet is in the line when the President dies in office because they would supposedly share the vision of the man voted into office. He did actually announce leaving a month or two ago, right around the time Comey first made a public hearing on the investigation and after the Nunes fuckery.

He made a statement about spending time with family and going into the private sector, but this is a guy who was heading the oversight cmtee specifically to investigate Hilary's emails when she won office. Now he has to investigate Trump and Russia and he CLEARLY wanted out.

He could nominate one as soon as he take office, and while I don't know how long it would take it to get through the senate I can't imagine it would be more than a couple of days. It's intended to be a fast process for the sake of national security. Basically, if shit goes down they'll be able to get a new VP in place before we get President Ryan.
