I doubt that this will swing the results of the election. It's wise of him though to get a formal report to review as there was definitely evidence of state-sanctioned hacking of key accounts and figures to at least attempt to influence the election.

Russia helped spread propaganda and lies to influence voters on the fence. They didn't directly affect the results(at least there is no evidence of it).
Hacking the DNC was the most blatant thing they did, and they are doing it in other countries as well so it's not like the US is singled out here.
USA really needs to improve it's defenses against hacking and intrusion but they're apparently losing all their top talent due to $$$.

The military is expanding their cyber defense efforts but I have a feeling if they're trying to build it from the ground up its going to a long time to get effective defenses going. A solid report that comes out of this may reveal that Russia is going about this to better counter their efforts.
Despite how obvious it was to everyone, I expect this will do little but come out with a report that says something to the effect of "Yes there were attempts by the Russians to influence the election. No ability to definitively conclude it decided the results. Recommendation is to boost defenses and awareness for future elections."
Either that, or they will just come out and say there was nothing to be concerned about, and this is just Obama trying to quell people's doubts/fears and reinforce belief in the system.

There is no fucking way the military would go along with a Russia influenced election. If Obama does get proof he needs to declare martial law and refuse to step down until the foreign influences are purged from our electoral process.

Also how will Donald Trump being President affect the intelligence communities ability to recruit? The most skilled people have better paying prospects elsewhere. Maybe this is a set of people that for the most part doesn't really value material wealth past a certain point they've already surpassed anyway, but are they going to take lower paying jobs so they can work for Donald Trump?

A reset. I think that Obama has proven these last 8 years his devotion to the ideals of the United States and his trustworthiness in general. If it did turn out that Russia influenced our election I would not be opposed to giving Obama a few more years without restraint to fix things.
This may have been my bubble in my branch of the military but most people heavily dislike Obama and absolutly despise Clinton. So while those serving wouldn't be happy with Russian sponsored victory if you have Obama declare martial law and refuse to step down... well fuck I don't think the world works the way you think it does.
