Meh, why aren't ya'll thinking logically? Like some have already said, if its really that "epic" of a speech, you guys really think he's just go on a family vacation right after?
I'm not putting any major expectation on the content of this PC, but his vacation is no small undertaking so it was probably planned months in advance and it's probably far easier to just continue with those plans unless something truly catastrophic is happening. It's not like he couldn't easily turn it into a working holiday what with battalion of staff traveling with him anyway.

Maybe to announce Kojima x Obama collab.

You play as Barry in the new Death Stranding where Trump is an infected asswipe tyrant?

Seriously though, what could Obama do tomorrow that would make this go down as the biggest event in American history? I mean we have a lot of events that were pretty big, what could he possibly do to Trump them all?

It will probably be the equivalent of Obama telling Russia/Putin to fuck off, and presenting additional evidence. He's not going to claim that Trump's victory doesn't count, he got the votes and that's all that matters. I don't see how any of the past 8 years of temperament would make anyone think Obama would go scorched earth on his own office.

This is going to be Obama's "Bash at the Beach '96" moment.

He's getting off the mainland, going into hiding. The bombs are going to start flying, and he doesn't want to be anywhere near the White House. /s

It's well past time to stop calling that guy "far left."

Her. And she's actually really smart in the traditional sense. She just went down the conspiracy rabbit hole once Bernie lost, not unlike the venomous place Hillaryis44 became in 2008.

Edit: and why are we quoting this Yankovich person without any context? I know the election is over but let's not lose all standards immediately.

If Obama was actually going to do what we should do in this situation, which is sever all diplomatic ties with Russia, he would not go on vacation afterwards.

As such, I suspect it won't be very significant.

"Aliens are real and they are coming. Good luck mr. president elect."

He canceled it because they said it was too complicated. But there was a leak that said, basically, that he decided he won't sell, he'll just give it to his kids. In other words, maximize the conflict of interest.
Well, that went about as expected. picard facepalm.

what's going to happen tomorrow

is Obama is going to come out

say he's accomplished alot

thank everyone who believe in him

and then say 'I hope you have a merry christmas, I'm going to take a vacation before january, see you then'

then he's gonna check out for the next few weeks.

For real dude is thinking bout Hawaii and shit right now he ain't dropping anything lol

Obama, you already chickened out once. Belief in our system is shot as is. Whatever you have, lay it out. Let us decide how to react.

This press conference tomorrow is going to be bigger than that time a bunch of the States seceded from the Union and half of the country fought a brutal war against the other half for years, resulting in hundreds of thousands of savage deaths.

After this event, he's on the first flight to Hawaii. Presumably to deal with the aftermath from a safe location?

He is announcing that the Netflix movie of his life, Barry, is available for streaming today.

but seriously though this thread is reading like a political e3 predictions/hype thread

so i'm just waiting for inevitable disappointment tomorrow

President Obama says the United States will respond to Russian cyberattacks that the intelligence community has concluded were part of an effort to influence the 2016 presidential election.

In an interview with NPR's Steve Inskeep that will air Friday on Morning Edition, Obama said, "I think there is no doubt that when any foreign government tries to impact the integrity of our elections ... we need to take action. And we will — at a time and place of our own choosing. Some of it may be explicit and publicized; some of it may not be."

U.S. intelligence officials have concluded that hackers working for Russia hacked into the Democratic National Committee's computer network, as well as the private email of John Podesta, a top adviser to Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton.

With the question of Russia's ultimate motivation for the hack becoming increasingly divisive, Obama was careful to not endorse a CIA assessment, reported by NPR and other news outlets, that asserts that Russia's goal was to elect Trump.

Obama said his goal is for a definitive White House report on the matter to be issued before President-elect Donald Trump takes office on Jan. 20. He was also careful to say that while the Russian hacks benefited Trump, he is not suggesting Trump's campaign helped coordinate the attacks or played any role in them, other than to exploit them for political advantage. "They understood what everybody else understood, which was that this was not good for Hillary Clinton's campaign," the president said.

Obama acknowledged that every "big power" spies and collects intelligence on each other, but, he said, "There's a difference between that and the kind of malicious cyberattacks that steal trade secrets or engage in industrial espionage, something that we've seen the Chinese do. And there is a difference between that and activating intelligence in a way that's designed to influence elections."

Obama discussed cybersecurity with Vladimir Putin during a 90-minute meeting on the sidelines of the G-20 summit held in China in early September. The president characterized the meeting at the time as "candid, blunt, businesslike."

While Obama is threatening to retaliate against Russia, he has only about five weeks left in the Oval Office. Trump has dismissed — in fact, mocked — intelligence assessments tying the DNC and Podesta hacks to Russia, and he campaigned on improving the U.S. relationship with the country.

In his interview with NPR, Obama appeared mystified by that stance.

"The irony of all this, of course, is that for most of my presidency, there's been a pretty sizable wing of the Republican Party that has consistently criticized me for not being tough enough on Russia," he said. "Some of those folks during the campaign endorsed Donald Trump, despite the fact that a central tenet of his foreign policy was we shouldn't be so tough on Russia. And that kind of inconsistency I think makes it appear, at least, that their particular position on Russia on any given day depends on what's politically expedient."

The president cited a recent Economist-YouGov poll that found Republican voters view Putin much more favorably now than they did before the 2016 presidential election.

"This is somebody, the former head of the KGB, who is responsible for crushing democracy in Russia, muzzling the press, throwing political dissidents in jail, countering American efforts to expand freedom at every turn; is currently making decisions that's leading to a slaughter in Syria. And a big chunk of the Republican Party, which prided itself during the Reagan era and for decades that followed as being the bulwark against Russian influence, now suddenly is embracing him."

What's coming likely isn't about Trump (directly), it's about Russia. And it's probably major. The leak last week was deliberate and likely crescendoing into what's about to happen. There are other news stories dropping left and right- Sweden, info about a possible Pentagon hack (NBC). The hammer is likely coming down.
Quoted for next page. Likely this is going to be a cofirmation of what all the anonymous sources have been saying so far. This is going to be big, bigger than any thing we've seen in a while.

But I don't think it's going to be big enough to take down Trump.

As someone said, if this was groundshattering, Obama wouldn't be going on vaccation.

If this were anything earth shattering or any action were being taken; Obama wouldn't be going on holiday right after the press conference. So I'm not really expecting much of this. At most maybe a shaming of Trump et al. But it's nice to dream and I'd be glad to be proven wrong.

I'm hoping for some chaos but think, at most, maybe we get a Garland SCOTUS nomination with some crazy executive order.

Or hey maybe he'll drop a stack of CIA papers proving Trump was personally in contact with Russia and he'll send a goon squad to toss that entire campaign in the slammer and let them rot away for 60 years.

Everyone gets excited by some post from a random Twitter guy and it will end up being nothing like usual.

The only way this makes history is if the CIA found damning, resolute and iron clad evidence that Trump has ties to Putin and Russia.
I so want it to be that and for some serious shit to hit the fan.

Wishful thinking though. Don't want to get my hopes up.

This, nothing is going to happen.

So the complete opposite of what he said in an NPR interview that releases at the same time where he doesn't see a connection between Trump and Putin on hacks?

Thank you for providing some sense.

Trump doesn't have to be involved for Russian interference in our election to be a bad thing. The president acknowledging that it happened is of vital importance though.

Holy shit.

"It's going to be the biggest event. Bigger than the Super Bowl! You can't measure how big it's going to be! So big!"

Preparing all the "it'sfuckingnothing.gif" pics we have.

I think he'll publically announce some of the actions he wants to take against Russia.

Correct. And that he doesn't think Trump had anything to do with it.

I swear some people live in a fantasy land. I sometimes wonder if this forum will ever be normal for the next four years. So many conspiracy theories.
