Skyblivion still pretty much has an advantage over the remake/remaster:

Mods are not supported for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered.

If you are experiencing gameplay issues while playing with mods, it's recommended you first try uninstalling your mods, then verify your games files on Steam, or the Xbox App.

what this actually means is that there are no mod tools.

every game supports mods, it's just a question on how hard it is to create and install mods.

Resident Evil 2 has no mod support, that didn't stop people from putting Thomas the Tank Engine in the game to follow you around.

The Oblivion Remake looks very impressive so far, so hope there would be good mods eventually. But without a Creation Kit, there won't be advance mods unless a miracle happens.

At least there's always Skyobivion so either way all is good.

Not surprising, the game is running two engines at once.

I'm sure someone will figure it out, but this is the sacrifice for a full on remake. From what I've seen I can accept that.

An Elder Scrolls game without mods?! What's the point?
TBH at this point I have a hard time trying to think what you could mod into the remaster from a a graphics, ui and gameplay experience. Unless you gotta have massive big titty goth anime girls in an environment that doesn't make sense it doesn't make a difference lol.

Custom questlines, animation and combat changes, altered magic systems. Most will focus on visual mods. After all who doesn't like an actual Lusty Argonian Maid?

Reads more like existing mods are not supported so please don't bug us with issues cause you installed a bunch of old ass mods for the OG oblivion expecting it to work.

No official support means jackshit. Of course, the old mods won't be compatible and that is granted. But this news change nothing really as UE5 is the most used engine in the market right now. It'll be a breeze to mod the Oblivion Remake.

I find it funny that people here have gotten so used to Draugoth constantly clickbaiting for engagement that page 1 is now full of posts correcting him.

One would think things should change in the future, but unfortunately I doubt it will.

lol this is funny to me because I remember a time when mods meant "to add things that were not supported." that doesn't mean there wont be mods it just means they are not creating a sandbox to keep your game safe for mods.

Draugoth... It's not

"Oblivion does not support modding"

It's

"Bethesda confirms no official modding for Oblivion"

It's not that hard.

The remaster will be as moddable as OG Oblivion was. Even all the old tools should still work.

I mean even the Skyblivion guys might able to switch over to the remaster.

Meh. I'm sure its coming. You'd be an idiot if you thought this game wouldn't one day have some of the most amazing and depraved mods available to a Bethesda game. You'll survive a few weeks without sweaty/dirty skin mods.

I just want VR. UE5 should make that easier.

This doesn't mean anything. Monster Hunter also doesn't support mods, and yet, the last 3 games have collectively over 10,000 mods available.

PERFECT!!!! This is a huge win!!!

Plus Immersive, companions, more enemies, npc redesigned, more spawns etc etc.

Fallout and Elder Scroll games are a completely different beast compared to all games because while the base game is already very good and better than lots of games already but the mods are what makes it legendary and last forever with infinite replay hence how Skyrim has almost 10 billion mod downloads with Fallout 4 have over a billion.

No official modding support does not mean modding isnt supported

This here is the key difference.

Monster Hunter Wilds doesnt support mods either but that didnt stop people from doing some really weird shit

* OFFICIAL MODDING via official tools *

Nothing stopping from third party / fan mods.

Draugoth Draugoth update this to the OP please.

Sure it does, if it's on PC. It will be moddable, just not officially. Consoles? Sorry, console bros.

Bethesda couldn't extort money from gamers by selling mods at a premium and paying peanuts to modders.
So they canned the whole concept and banned mods for everyone.
Todd is one petty muppet.

Good. Modding in Skyrim was a one off. Bethesda needs not to be dependent on that shit. It will not fly going forward.

It doesn't even make sense for the kinds of people who created the mods that Skyrim's remembered for to mod. If you have skill enough to make the contemporary equivalent of a Skyrim mod or say Far Cry Blood Dragon, you will either get hired by a studio or will make your own to make your own games.

Who is going to fix all the bugs? It seems short sighted given their track record on this. Hopefully this support they mention is just technical support regarding mods.

We know. We know. But the point is because there's a whole community based with that in mind, and specially with basically every Bethesda Studios game ever. So why not launch with it?
