I think that dynamic has causes. The first being the fact that Wall Street has completely co-opted the federal government. Wall Street investors may not be intentionally waging class warfare on the rest of society, but they have removed the means by which the citizenry can protect itself from Wall Street maleficence. When people can not convince the government to regulate Wall Street because nearly every member of both parties is financially beholden to them, it's going to create an adversarial sentiment. This is compounded by pundits and politicians who are in fact waging a PR war against the poor. So while it's true that there is no organization to the class conflicts that are occurring, the effects of formal class warfare are being felt. To paraphrase Warren Buffet, there was a class war, and the middle class lost.

People say that but they don't vote like this. How many people on GAF alone support the government subsidizing green tech by giving green companies credits, breaks, loans, grants etc etc etc. Even after disasters like Solyndra how many will still vote for things like that and not blink. How many people supported Obamacare, that mandates you buy coverage?

How many Americans will vote for the next "home ownership" deduction or break. the next break for automobile companies(as long as they are american). It's hard to buy that Americans are against wall street when they vote hand over fist, on a state and federal level for corporate welfare all the damn time.

We don't vote for things like that. We vote for politicians. Both parties are guilty of such handouts (even though you clearly want to blame the left for all of it) and voting for a third party might make you feel good, but they aren't going to win.

Uhh yes we do. Citizens vote directly for politicians that run on giving out corporate Welfare. Case in point: Obama and green tech. These politicians don't hide their corporate welfare. They advertise it.

Or we vote for propositions for construction projects and infrastructure done by private companies. Case in point CA high speed rail. New Jersey tunnel into New york. Boston the big dig project. Private sector companies worked on all of them with the bill being mainly carried by state and federal dollars.

There's a difference between government subsidies and full on corruption. You seem to be conflating all government stimulus of the private sector with corrupt politicians taking money from investors in exchange for removing regulation.

Allowing companies to legally commit crimes by changing the law, only because they donated money to your campaign, is quite a bit different then giving money to corporations to build solar panels. The latter results (hopefully) in services being created for the public, the former resulted in a crime wave that triggered the collapse of the world economy. I understand where you're coming from, but you seem to be underplaying the level of crime that occurred on Wall Street. The article I posted earlier would be a good starting place:

I just heard on Democracy Now that the police barred the protesters from using a PA system, so that's why they came up with that "human microphone" chanting system. The restrictions on public protests are really getting out of hand.

That officer fires his pepper spray about a foot away from another police officer's face. You can see the blue shirted officer squint and recoil, clearly surprised by the discharge and trying not to get hit. The officer in the white shirt using the pepper spray seems like a huge asshole.

This was tied closely to a specific date from a year ago. If the squatters weren't here I think it's reasonable to assume this would have still occurred.

I'm sure this has been brought up, but CNN did a little piece on the occupy wall street clowns. The best part was when they spoke to one of the organizers and pointed uot that it was particularly ironic that she was there protesting big corporations when she herself brought her macbook with her.
