October is a hell of a month

A lot of games I am interested in but I plan on buying a new 4K tv and a Pro when it comes out, so that's going to be a lot of money.

I will definitely be getting Dark Souls 3 DLC. I want Tomb Raider and The Last Guardian but they might need to wait. I also can't decide which FPS I want this year. I think Titanfall, BF1, and even Cod looks good. I don't play Pvp as much as I used to though, so whichever has the better campaign is probably going to be it.

Mafia II was idiotic crap, and from what Austin Walker talked about, it seems like Mafia III is addressing race in a pretty stupid way.

Dragon Quest Builders sounds good.

I've had my full of cover based third person shooters because that's what everything was in the 360 era* so Gears of War 4 doesn't interest me.

The beta of Battlefield 1 left me feeling pretty cold on it. Like they thought they learned some lessons with Battlefront other than "We really should've made a singleplayer" and brought a hatchet to Conquest mode.

The Last Guardian looks like a PS3 game, and I still don't have much faith with Sony exclusives.

Titanfall 2 seems cool.

*I am using hyperbole. It's still a done to death genre with not much room to grow.

Skyrim Special Edition, World of Final Fantasy and The Last Guardian all on the same day.

Then Dragon Quest Builders and Rise of the Tomb Raider as well

The only definite purchase for me will be The Last Guardian Collector's Edition. I have no idea when I'll get a PS4 but there's no way I'm missing out on that beauty Day 1. I've waited far too long.

Gears of War 4 is another want but I doubt I can grab it right away. Still pumped for it though.

Skyrim remaster is a maybe. I really enjoyed my time with it on 360 but not too sure if I really want to go back. Battlefield 1 looks good and the setting is awesome but eh, I'm not the biggest Battlefield fan and with so much else coming out, I'm on the fence with that one.

Titanfall 2 went from being a Day 1 buy to a hard pass. It just isn't the game I wanted it to be and I've become more and more disappointed in it. I don't know why EA is releasing it when they are but I do wish Respawn the best of luck if for no other reason than to be able to make a Titanfall 3 and make the sequel I wish 2 was.

TLG for me for sure, been waiting on that one forever. Nothing else really catches the eye, personally. And Gears 4 is gonna be mediocre as all hell, I'm calling it now.

edit - What's this about Rez? Might have to pick that up too.

At this point I feel like we have this thread every month

Honestly there's at least one really good game released every week on Steam alone all year long which is already more that anyone can realistically keep up with.

The people who think there's really any sort of downtime any more are the people who aren't really paying attention to everything that comes out except for the big, hyped AAA titles.

- Battlefield 1

What truly sucks is that I may not play three of the four games because I rather wait until I get the PS4 PRO. Just hoping that Mafia III has some extra benefits with PRO.

Civ VI, Rez Infinite and the Sunless Sea expansion for sure.

TLG and Mafia III depending on word of mouth, if not I can wait for a sale.

Don't have high hopes for Paper Mario: Color Splash but keeping an eye on it.

Mafia 3 if reviews are good. Game has looked great in trailers hoping the final product is good. Would have got Civ 6 if I had a PC.

So I was just looking over some upcoming games and October is nuts.

Shadow Warrior 2
Mafia 3
The Last Guardian

And Quantum Break his steam 9/29

Anything else I'm missing? There's gotta be.

Dec (Nov 29...) - March is where current gen actually takes off.

Yeah just looking at what I have on preorder...
  • Mafia III (October 7th. Thanks Hello Games and NMS!)
  • Battlefield 1 (October 18th)
  • The Last Guardian (October 25th)
  • Skyrim Remastered (October 28th)

Those last 3 get released within a week, how am I supposed to juggle that and still play Mafia?! lol I might cancel Skyrim, not because of the mods as I don't care about that, but I obviously played it on 360 and could just get it cheaper down the road and focus on the other games. Plus I'm interested in Rise of Tomb Raider, World of Final Fantasy and Titanfall 2 (even if the beta was shite).

Then you get the dilemma with some of the later titles releasing: should i wait a couple or so weeks for when my Pro arrives?! Then that gets into the November schedule and Dishonored 2, Call of Duty 4, Final Fantasy XV....
