Being a child at heart is the best and that's a shoot.
You see kids running around full of this thing called joy with a dash of wonder, you gotta keep that, even when it slowly gets buried with the inevitable burdens of adult life, it's still there and you gotta embrace that to not get stuck under said burdens.

Depends whether you want a guaranteed but relatively small amount in NXT or hope to make it big on the indies, I guess.
Guys like Juice are often the exception, unfortunately, and NJPW is stacked now. ROH is still ROH. Everything fell through for WWN.
It is good people will try elsewhere, but I see a lot of sad stuff happening too. Not that they shouldn't try, it just is what it is.

On the E&C podcast outright said when people tell him they're frustrated with their position, he asks when their contract's up, and that there's never been a better time to leave and make good money on the indies. Used McIntyre as an example for those who might want to ever come back

The wrestling world is getting pretty big that would support several people leaving the WWE.
It'd ultimately be great for everyone involved to test the waters outside the WWE if they're unhappy. Whether they will succeed and whether it will suit them professionally to be out on their own is something they have to answer themsevles, but helping foster a viable alternative career path can only raise their value. It'd be great if we could see what the ceiling is outside the WWE because as of this point, we haven't seen what that is yet.

It all sounds nice to encourage people to leave, but a lot of unhappy talent aren't really all that great, and there's not a great spot for them.
Fortunately there's options for anyone who is upset, being a top wrestler for WWE is still the end goal. You want to get paid on residuals to allow for you to make a living after your body is broken and useless garbage.
You're not out there to fill a spot, you're there to take a spot, and if you're not talented...hit the bricks

Funny, I would say the WWE is the one that's flooded, not the indies.
I doubt Bryan is telling people like the ax man or the miz to leave.

WWE is flooded for sure, but at the same time it has a lot of talent that shouldn't be on the main shows and talent in NXT that should be on the main show.
My point was that (hypothetical) if Shemus, Cesaro, Neville, Sami, Braun, Sasha, Nia, Noam, Cedric, Bayley and more just up and left it's not like Evolve is going to snatch them all up...every show.
If anything an exodus some greater notion to needing a better national brand for competting

There are a whole lot of indies out there brother. They aren't all amazing or promotions where you just sign and you're good, but they're all looking for talent and can pay (and allow you to sell merch)
Random bullshit promotion in Iowa books a known name on their show and gets more people to buy tickets. More money to book better talent, etc

I mean, we might as well find out how the market responds. Whether the existing promotions expand to accommodate or more promotions spring up to fill the void. Because at this point, that's already what's happening. The influx could just as easily push growth as it could burst the bubble, but I'd say it's in everyone's interest to see how far it can go. One segment of the market is actively growing and the other is largely stagnant and in some aspects regressing.

I agree if enough talent leave week there might be more customers for indys to make money a grow which would be a good thing for wrestling
It's possible but requires a whole lot of hustle. If you're going around demanding a couple of grand for every booking it's not going to get you anywhere fast unless you have other interests keeping your bank account full. With Cody he worked cheaper, worked often and went to as many different places as he could to spread his name around because eventually the WWE shine wears off.

Yknow, with how hard it is to get a lot of you to watch something non-WWE (this isn't a complaint, it's a fact that most folks don't want to watch anything else) - I don't think it'll move the needle, but it'll be an indie fan's heyday.

Maybe the best way to look at it is by making a list of the talent you actually want to leave because they are being underutilised in the WWE. I think I would have said that about a guy like Cesaro a few years ago but he's in a good position now. I wish he had more singles opportunities but he seems happy working with Sheamus.
I was starting to get frustrated with the way Sami was being used but it looks like they are positioning him for better things. If it doesn't work out I already know he will be fine on the indie circuit.

I do think Neville can make it work. He's that type of talent. He was in a title picture but on a program that was going nowhere.

I'm generally pretty pessimistic on most things in life and this just feels like we are standing at the edge of a bubble bursting on the indies with ex WWE trying to cash in.
How weird is that sentence. WWE guys trying to cash in on the indies and Japan.
