It sounds like your CC info is fine, they're just telling you that things haven't been put through yet and you have time to change your payment info if needed.

If you've just updated your payment details successfully there should be a $1 charge listed on your oculus account page under "payment transactions". Just under where it shows your original deposit.

I signed up with a credit card when I ordered, and I didn't update my payment info now since it looks correct. Hopefully it just automatically goes through.

They really make the CC stuff unnecessarily complicated. I am having mine shipped to work as I always do with expensive stuff.

The address was correct but even though I could see they charged $50 to my credit card with my home address as the billing address they had then updated my billing address to be my work address. So then I added my credit card again with the correct billing address. Then I get an error saying that they already had my credit card on file.

Now everything looks right but I still have a little doubt in my mind that everything will go smoothly because it was all so unnecessarily complicated. Seriously, why does this have to be so hard? The info was all correct the first time and then I had to go back in and change it because their system changed stuff around. I've never had to do this with anything else I have ever preordered on the internet and I do that frequently.

EDIT: Fuck, I just checked on my order again and again they had reverted my billing address back to my work address again! WTF!? I guess I am just going to get it shipped to my house.

PM Cyberreality on /r/oculus

What made you decide to switch? I like Unity but have been really impressed with how fast UE4 has been evolving.

Unity has the best oculus rift integration of any engine yet, with lots of resources straight from oculus themselves. Sixense also has some prefab unity assets, making it a pretty ideal choice for VR development right now.

I'm a little confused by this since UE4 source can be modified if users want maximum customization, and the latest version just added the latest SDK support complete with timewarp, correct?

Does UE4 have higher latency than Unity, or is there something else I'm missing?

Now that delivery time is nearing, I'm wondering if my trusty amd 7870 will be enough for the DK2: what do you guys think? (I know CyberReality said gtx770 should be considered minimum gpu level for a good experience)

Should be fine, but you'll definitely have to turn down some settings to keep framerate up.

I'm in the same boat. Senza Peso runs pretty horrible (for VR standards) at about 30~40fps in effect intense areas (so basically once you leave the second area). Xing also performs similarly bad in the jungle. So unless Epic really optimizes some stuff or the devs offer in-depth rift-specific graphic settings like Screen Percentage... it doesn't look to good for more expensive UE4 demos.

Can't say anything about Unity or injectors tho, those are the only ones I tried so far since I wanted to have Senza Peso as my first VR experience but oh well... maybe I'll cave in and buy a 780/Ti once I know when my DK2 arrives :(

Oh god, I hope my 670 runs the VR content acceptably. Tbh the price of admission is worth it to me as long as valve updates half life 2 for dk2, all I want right now is to play that game in VR.

The 670 should be totally fine to play HL2 on DK2.

Is it really that good? Never played HL2 before.
It's one of the finest FPS games ever made. I'm not sure I'd play it in VR first though. I didn't enjoy the experience on DK1, although people do seem to rave about it. It doesn't feel like a made-for-VR game to me, just constantly awkward.

It's a great game but when I say there is nothing else I want to play more right now I mean that being able to play a game of that caliber already in VR will be amazing. I played half life 2 way after release, a year or two after orange box and thought it was a solid game, but being able to immerse myself in that world using the oculus will be an entirely different and game changing experience, I can't wait.

Argh, just as I feared. Senza Peso is precisely the game I wanted to use to showcase the rift to my friends and familly, bummer.
Pretty terrible time to upgrade my gpu, I'll try to be patient.

Looks like i'm getting mine soon :)
Read the thread, everybody got that email. I ordered mine just a few weeks ago and I got the email, it means nothing.

I don't get the big "update your info" stuff... my info was correct the first time I put it in. And I'm not in a huge hurry, I don't need it NOW like some people seem to. I don't even bother checking my order status.. I'll see when they charge my CC for the rest of the amount, that's enough of a "notification" that they're getting ready to send it. That, combined with the actual notification that they send... bombarding the order status page with refresh requests is beyond pointless.

Like you said, everybody got that email. Oculus doesn't know whose info is still correct until they attempt to accept payment. It's been four months. People have moved, CCs expired, etc. There are plenty of people who need or want to update info. This was necessary and expected before shipping.

I got the email myself. I've tried to update my CC info to another one (as I've had to cancel my old one) but didn't see any "change" on my account order page. I might just do paypal to minimize any headache-the thought of mine being delayed due to CC snafu's is a bit aggravating on my end, Lol.

EDIT: My order now shows updated info and a $0.01 charge on the new card, for anyone in a similar situation.

Already said this before. Only people who paid with a credit card got the email. Paypal users didn't get sent the email. Still check though to confirm address.

Noooooooooo. Between the dk2, elite dangerous beta and asseto corsa, I don't think my wallet can handle another bite from a graphics card. :(
