Hold on, friend! I'd love to share with you some swell news about the Windows 8 Metro UI! Wait, where are you going?
So it came out at $49.99, a week later went on sale for $10, now it's $29.99?

Amazing. Makes you really want to buy new stuff on the Oculus store.

That is if you could even sort the Oculus store by release date and see what's new...

In this case yes. People who bought it at the original price got 6 other games for free, really good ones too!

AirMech Command
Damaged Core
Defense Grid VR
Chronos
Edge of Nowhere
The Climb

Although I've enjoyed a few controller games, they haven't provided a compelling reason to hang onto the Rift. I may again try to offload it if I'm not impressed by the showing out of OC3. Honestly, that may be more difficult than first expected as I got no response when putting it up in the B/S/T for $375 a bit back.

I was really looking forward to those Touch controllers too.

I think I will wait until Facebook does the right thing and shitcans Palmer.

If you're referring to his pro-Trump political donation, then I think you're out of luck. I'm fairly certain it's illegal in all states to terminate employment based on political stance.

Funding a neonazi group isnt an acceptable political stance. I dont think.

Yeah, that's true. I imagine if will be more of a forced to resign situation. There would probably be some sort of compensation package involved.

Only thing I'm hoping for is that it's a bizarre hoax. For him to just casually reveal himself like that is a special kind of crazy on top of the crazy shit sundae. Unbelievably disgusting if true.

As reprehensible as Trump and many of his supporters are, legally speaking, the donation would be considered the same as anything else.

Giving large sacks of money to encourage his leaving is possible, but given the flak Facebook has gotten for being left leaning earlier in the election cycle, I don't think they'll do anything. This allows public perception to balance out a bit. Facebook can't afford to alienate the right entirely.

What are you talking about? He was/is co-founder and a moderator of the group, not just a donator. And they are neonazis. That's not acceptable.

Even the nazis are a political party within the US. A small unpopular fringe one, but one nonetheless. They enjoy the same legal protections that everybody else does.

Assuming this is true, I am extremely disappointed with Luckey. I won't be giving up on the Rift or Oculus over it, but I really hope that he is forced to resign.

I'm not that left to gave up Oculus just because of one person.

I'm still support and buy some for devs sake.

I can't believe I've been following him on twitter for months, yuck!

This certainly leaves a bad taste in my mouth when I consider buying Oculus Touch.

I must admit that I'm very impressed by the things being created in Medium. The end products seem more polished than something produced with, say, Tilt Brush.

Tilt brush isn't really a sculpting program though. It's 2D painting in a 3D environment. Apples and oranges.

Yea, I realize that. I suppose I'm just saying that I personally prefer what can be created in Medium over Tilt Brush. Not trying to say that one is better than the other since they are doing wildly different things.

Yeah, there's no problem in that. It's entirely reasonable to prefer one medium of art over another. I just wanted to focus on the fact that both can have polished results, but one will look much different than the other. I think you meant polished in that they're cleaner, more uniform creations compared to the brush-stroke like ones of Tiltbrush.

I was certainly failing at saying exactly what I meant, and yes, you hit the nail on the head.

Political antics aside I've never been particularly fond of Palmer's conduct. It really hit the hardest with the Time cover, but his whole whacky-suit/flip-flops/shoe-less shenanigans felt silly but not in an interesting eccentric way.

You know, you have people like Carmack who really do have eccentric elements, but I felt Palmer's a tad hamfisted.

Whatever one wants to say about his age or politics, he's just never felt like a particularly great face for the company, to me.

I've enjoyed listening to Nate Mitchell discuss various things in interviews with Tested over the years, I wish someone like him had more of a presence for the company's representation.

did anybody pick up Dimensional Intersection? it's a trippy as balls music visualizer and i could spend hours on it .... but it only has one song.

it's a Nicalis game and they have a fairly good track record, i'd like to think there's more to this even though it's only $5. i was wondering if anybody was able to to get more out of it, i'm downloading an "asset pack" that was sort of hidden away on the main page, i'll see what that does

Kinda sucks there will be so many exclusives between the platforms since they're so expensive. Medium looks awesome.

Minecraft is getting Touch support on October 18.

The update is coming with a bunch of other features, so probably shouldn't look at the date as being indicative of Touch release. Thought it worth mentioning though.

So MS has since removed the mention of Touch support from this post. To me, this actually gives the possibility of a coinciding Touch release more credence.

And now, Serious Sam VR: The Last Hope is dated for release the same day on Steam. The game is also supposed to go up on Oculus' store also, so this could be further evidence.

It still seems early to me though; I'm still leaning toward coincidence.

Interesting news.

Was it confirmed to be cross platform prior to this? That's great news for population. The multiplayer is solid.

This is the first I have heard of it. Pretty surprising and very welcome. I will have it on both platforms but it will be nice to not have to sweat it to play with friends.

Have they shown off Killing Floor Incursion anymore since that initial announcement? I'm still really curious on how they are solving player locomotion.

I am going to get around to creating a BST thread but figured since it will take some time I would post here first.

If anyone in the US of A is interested in a used for about 25 hours but kept in immaculate condition Oculus Rift minus Eve Valkyrie since I redeemed the code for $430 send me a DM. The $30 will go towards shipping.

Truth is 50% of this decision is I just do not have the time like I wish I had so I barely do get to play anything, and the other 50% is I have made a decision to take my business elsewhere. Specifically the PSVR. I am making a decision here but will not think less of anyone who does reach out.

I can supply pics, etc. No screen issues. Works like a champ. I am just moving on. Took a bit to convince my wife as well since I did purchase a new PC just for Oculus. She was a tad pissed, but she is now on board.

TIA,
DL

I am enjoying Feral Rites so much. I'm not really playing the game as intended though. I'm climbing on rocks and finding ways to climb the mountains. I just made my way into that volcano in the background tonight. I recommend trying this out. It's so rewarding to climb a mountain, see one off in the distance, and then spend a few hours seeing if it is possible to get to the top. I'm finding weird spots frequently and that makes this game really cool imo.

How good is porn on the Rift? (Serious question)

Not quite there yet, mostly because of the resolution of 3d VR videos.
It feels like you are there, but everything is in 480p.

The immersion is good, but also the quality of the scenes is... mostly bad. Its mostly POV stuff. The japanese stuff is actually better I would say, but also not much there.

For good VR porn we need better resolutions than what we have now.
