Christmas Eve, I believe.
Cool. Sounds good. Will pick it up when it release, I suppose.
Christmas Eve, I believe.
Okay so I've found the trial in the demo section... NOT in the PS+ trial section where I would have expected it to be. And the search is broken... I hate this new store.
Thanks a lot man, appreciate you coming onto the forums and helping out/answering questions <3
PS+ has timed full retail game trails, you download full game playable for 60 minutes.
Demos are in regular demo section where they should be.
Hey everyone,
Thanks for the ... varying comments.
Stranger's Wrath PC was original a straight port, which is what we were hired to do. Yes there WERE problems and we fixed most of those up pretty quickly. BUT we announced we'd give the HD version away for FREE to PC users, which is exactly what we did earlier this year.
In terms of "We can't afford to give stuff away for free." It was me that said that, you'll have to appreciate that I'm straight talking, I don't lie, I don't stand behind PR bullshit, so I'll tell you like it is.
As for us running with the money from the original PC version of Stranger, not true, we didn't do great with it, in terms of revenue, due to the problems, but EVERY CENT of that revenue, went into the HD version for PS3/VITA and PC.
If you have any issues, then ask me and I'll do my best to respond to them.
In terms of a couple of you thinking Stranger was "bad" that's opinion, like everyone we all have opinions, personally I don't like RPG or RTS or FPS titles, but that's me, I won't rip those titles apart, just because I don't like them doesn't mean they are not good titles, it's just my opinion and taste.

The title of the 'demo' is "Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee HD - TRIAL" and has a game unlock purchase that goes along with it. (which I have now)
Think about that for a second.

Like I said it's not the same trail as in ps+ trails. It's a regular 1-2 level trial not a unlocked game but timed as you find in PS+. If you look for demos or "trials", you go to demo section, it's nothing ps+ exclusive you must dig.
Not every day you see a CEO write such a weird comment. Overlooking the not-so-wonderful grammar and the not-so-fancy language, this seem like some kind of angry, non-proffesional rant. I don't see where all of this is coming from. Also, I read through the thread and nowhere did anyone state that the game was bad by fact. Of course it's about opinions -- no one claimed otherwise. Reviews, proffesional or non-proffesional, short or long, written by fans or reviewers, are always about opinions. There's no reason for you to be a jerk about it. Who exactly is trying to rip your title apart? No one.
Listen, you might want to talk to some PR team and hire a community manager instead. You might think PR is bulls***, but trust me, your studio will look much better if you have one of those always-positive community managers with top-notch grammar, proper punctuation and most importantly fancy language. Coming in here and writing LIKE THIS about revenue and opinions ain't going to get you anywhere.

Look at the differences here:
Ni No Kuni & Lego: The Lord of the Rings: Demo
Oddworld & Black Knight Sword: Trial and Unlock
Anyway I'm about to install it and see for myself.
What a great point, many people would benefit from remembering this. Besides, SW is a great game, I don't see how people wouldn't like it...must be an extreme minority/specific issue.
Seems odd to me that you think they'd benefit from less honesty. It makes me want to buy their games MORE. I don't understand how his post sounded angry, but I guess we all interpret things differently.
Holy shit. My mind cannot handle the irony. This is too much.

Wow. See what you want to see and all I guess. What titles or even platforms (if that's what you are pushing at) have I 'ripped apart' exactly?
The sole reason I quoted it is because I've found myself saying the same thing a number of times recently. (JSR).
It's almost funny the lengths some people go to discredit others (without any backup). But it's actually just sad.
I'm sorry but I have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. I don't know what you mean with "you want to see" or what you mean with "ripped apart". I have no idea what JSR is either. Since you didn't catch the train, let me enlighten you.
First, good ol' CEO here informed us that everyone saying that the game is bad is just expressing their opinions. You highlight this and say "what a great point". Indeed, it's common sense but sure it's a great point. Then comes the amazingly ironic part. You despise everyone who didn't like the game and do EXACTLY what you said people shouldn't do. You expressed your opinion as fact.
Just to clarify: I said that I didn't like Stranger's Wrath, you say "but it's just your opinion, not fact", even though I never claimed otherwise. Then, you say that SW is a great game by fact. Yes, you said "besides, SW is a great game", implying that no one should argue otherwise, and indeed, you strengthen your position by saying just that "I don't see how people wouldn't like it", and then act like it's some extreme issue.
Now, you dare say that it's sad how I discredit others without any backup. Well, here it is. You're sad because someone didn't like what you adore. You're a very typical human though, most act the same way you do, that is to say: "don't dislike what I like and don't like what I dislike". You want people who didn't like the game to remember that it's just their opinion because, of course, the game is by fact a great game.
Bravo.

Well firstly, thanks for the clarification. I can see it is probably a fine line to you but anyway:
This is what I highlighted and I'll bold what I was referring to:
JSR is jet set radio.
And how is:
Despising others? Way to exaggerate. Being in a minority makes you peculiar, not necessarily bad. It's an excellent game. There is a difference between slagging a game off without justification and giving it praise (negativity). Also you are putting things in quotations that were never said. You saw what you wanted to see. Although I understand the mistake.
Hi,
I'm not angry in the slightest, honestly. I was merely commenting on the previous post suggesting we grabbed money and ran.
Sorry for not making that clear enough, or having perfect grammer.
Merry Christmas.
Fair enough, it's hard to read attitudes. Writing words in caps usually means that you're somewhat angry (or perhaps excited depending on context of course), and likewise your wording seemed and still seems weird. I still don't understand what you meant with your comment about ripping games apart, but I suppose it doesn't matter. Just know that no one, in this thread anyway, claimed that the game was bad by fact.
So...how's that Abe in Playstation All Stars coming along?
Gosh, there's some mean-spirited-ness in this thread. :/
Hey Stewart, will the Munch port for Vita be similar in quality (Relative to the PS3 one) as the Stranger port? I'm not sure whether to buy it now or wait until February.
Mmm, I'll probably wait then. I bought Stranger for Vita, so that should tide me over.
Cheers!
Jet set radio? That old SEGA game? I'm confused, what does that have to do with Oddworld? Are they connected somehow?
Regarding your question -- how your comment was despising others -- I've already answered it above. And no. No, no, no. There is no difference, I repeat; no difference, between "slagging" a game off without justification and giving it praise without justification. You think people who say "this game is bad" are weird and stupid and whatnot, however saying "this game is good" without argumentation are perfectly fine. Someone on page one said "this game is bad" and you're obviously upset about it, but you're no better. You say "this game is great" and now "this game is excellent" with no arguments or, what did you call it? "Justification"? Yeah, whatever, the point is that you just can't first say that it's opinion to dislike a game and then say that a game is good by fact, even worse is that you now did it again and even worse is that you again didn't even argument or "justify" your opinion. Also, I believe you do not what how quotations work. A quote is not necessarily something someone said, but can also be a thesis or some other sort thought. I never quoted anything that wasn't said. Everything that I said that you said is true, check it yourself and don't lie to me. You're last two sentences are nonsensical and I really have no idea what you're talking about. What exactly did I see that I wanted to see?

@Skyzard I'm almost crying right now. You're like a brick wall. So now all of sudden if a game has a good metacritic it's a good game by fact, and everyone who didn't like it is in some kind of minority. So everyone who didn't like Mass Effect 3 or whatever is wrong. Okay. I've had enough with this. Here's what you need to learn:
It is not, I repeat, it is NOT a fact that any game, any game at all, is good. Nothing is ever good by fact. I repeat, because you simply cannot understand, nothing, ever, is good by fact. Good or bad is purely about opinions. I'm not just talking about games, I'm talking about everything. NOTHING is good by fact. Good and bad are values. Metacritic doesn't decide what's good and bad. You're narrow-minded beyond belief.
Look, I'll just leave it to you. There's no point trying to talk sense to you. I just hope you'll learn to respect people, realize that nothing at all is neither good nor bad by default and drop your freaking metascores. Take a look at the highest-rated game of all time on your fancy Metacritic, then ask 100 random people what their favourite game is, and I guarantee that a majority will name a different game. I guess all of them are wrong, right?
Forget it, why do I even bother.
So trying out Munch's Oddysee now.
Is it just me or do the voices seem rather low compared to the music/SFX? No voice options either for me to turn the volume up .
Also, there is a freeze when performing certain actions (ie opening the pause menu).
Still, I'm just happy that hearing Abe speak, it's been too long Abe <3.
Probably won't dive into this until January but it looks like a good remaster anyway.
It's you who should chill out and maybe try improving your reading comprehension. You are all "OMG ANGRY RANT" and "YOU DESPISE EVERYONE" yet none of those posts were that extreme. One simply explained the stance of the developer on a thing & some past mistakes they did(very rationally & truthfully, unlike 99,9% of the usual meaningless PR fluff that does no one any good, which you seem to glamour for) and the other just wondered how anyone could hate Stranger's Wrath. You turned those to anger & despise, which was not at all the intent of either post, from my POV.I'm sorry but I have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. I don't know what you mean with "you want to see" or what you mean with "ripped apart". I have no idea what JSR is either. Since you didn't catch the train, let me enlighten you.

Eh IMO they could always just release a bundle for the Vita+PS3 ver., for example Vita+PS3 for $20-25 for Stranger's Wrath, and a discounted bundle for Munch.
Made it to theMudokon Fortress, gonna need to be careful so I can save as many of the Fuzzles as possible for the good ending XO
Played the demo of this. Was pretty disappointed as the camera is terrible. Deleted it.
Agreed the camera is rough in 3rd person for Stranger, other than that the game is fun so far. (Vita) Is it possible for J.A.W. to patch it up or are we stuck?
He's talking about Munch's Oddysee HD, Stranget doesn't have a demo.
If you can change anything with Munch's camera I would add options for sensitivity/turning speed and whether the y axis is inverted or not. It's very awkward from what I played of the demo.

I'm not trying to pick a fight but the state that the oddboxx was released and sold in was beyond atrocious and it took at least a month to fix. Those who paid the initial price and had an unplayable that we had to wait a month and then you had it discounted once you finally patched it for even less was beyond awful. We paid more money to have to wait a month or longer for it to even play. The title for that thread even had to warn people not to buy it because of the shambles it was in, the moderators would not do that unless it was that bad. You've seem to be doing much better than then but even with the HD patch it was hinted at a press release and then nothing would happen for weeks. It's the way the PR is that leaves a bad taste in our mouths after our first experience with your company. The PR is just not well done and usually comes off very awkward at best.
We'd said the HD update would come out around 3 months after the PS3 version, we we're too optimistic with that granted. Please bear in mind we had 1 programmer on the PS3 version for 3/4 of it's development, then the same programmer went BACK to do the PC version on his own.
So yes we were WAAAY to optimistic with the expected turn around.
For that we've apologised completely without reserve.
I'd like to think the fans were much happier with the HD PC version when it was finally released along with the smaller update a month after the main HD update.
Remember we are only 12 people, 7 of which are on Abe's Oddysee New 'N' Tasty, the other 5 include PR & Community and me, so we do what we can.
What did you think of the HD PC update?
HD version was great and can't wait for the update to Munch's Odyssey. There was the just the one or two translation errors in German I told you about but that was it.
Is there a reason this is $10 but Stranger's wrath is $15?
And no vita demo makes me
Munch? Yeah it's a much older game, and we couldn't update a lot of the stuff we wanted to due to the Age, so I felt it was a no brainer purchase at $10.
Stranger doesn't have a demo as it doesn't need it, it SERIOUSLY rocks, but Munch does have a trial and it's out in North America TOMORROW!!!
They better not take 2+ years on the PC patch this time around. And yea, I'm one of the people who dearly regrets buying the Oddbox when I did, especially when Abe's Odyssey and Exodus STILL don't work on most modern machines. You lose a lot of credibility when you release a product in such a sad state. That being said, the HD patch was very well done, and I'm really looking forward to the Abe remake.
