How much do you need to know about prior Oddworld games/stories to enjoy this?
Agreed, though the GAF backlash was beyond ridiculous. It was spoiled rotten entitlement city.
It might have been slightly exaggerated, but not unwarranted. The game was rendering in software mode. Software mode! Like in 1996! Honestly, how does something like that slip through?
So, iv'e been playing this game on hard, and i'm on the last boss. So, oblivious to what was going to happen, i ran out in the open, and got caught in, it killed me of course. I thought, okay, better not do that again, but, as soon as I respawned, the game put me back in the position of where i'm getting caughtthe boss laser beam, and i am continuously dying now and can't finish the game. Now that's bullsh*t. Can anyone suggest something that I can do?in the fire of the beam
Stewart Gilray said:Hi,
I'm sorry you had that bug, but I can honestly say, we never found it, our QA team never found it and neither did Sony QA.
It must have been an issue in the Xbox original as well.
Sorry :-/

Those screenshots look amazing! I had no idea they were doing this. I picked it up during the 2010 Steam Holiday sale but haven't touched it. It's true that PC version is getting an update? If not, I'll just pick it up on PSN.
1.5GB
So is the ps3 version any good? I have the pc version and I'd rather not wait for them to update and simply play it now.
It's good.
I've noticed some slowdown which I don't remember being there in the Xbox version, but the game is pretty much identical for the most part. The updated visuals is a nice touch, but it fails to hit the 'OMG, it's beautiful' vibe the original managed, but that's to be expected really.
Controls have translated well and load times (of which there are very few) are very short.
How does it look? To confirm, they DID add new assets and the like?

I'm wondering whether the general disinterest in this thread reflects that this game is doomed to languish in relative obscurity, HD assets and all. I hope not, but still.
A question I can't recall seeing answered for those who've already purchased it: are the cut scenes identical to the original, or have they been altered in any way (re-rendered or at least formatted for widescreen)?
Just picked up the original for $2.50 on steam, hope that update really comes out (and is free).
Steam has the Oddbox up for like 4 Euro's with this and the 3 other games,I'm assuming in the USA it's $4. Anyone not getting it is crazy.
Kind of regret buying this game the same way I regret buying Beyond Good & Evil HD. For some reason, it's hard for me to get into these revamped old games. :/
