Offical NCAA Hype train

NCAA 2005 is coming really soon... I know that the EA gang here has been hyping it along with Madden.. but I have decided to chime in about the greatest football franchise to have come out...ever!

"EA SPORTS: How about custom celebrations?

Rod Moye: We changed the system so that you can choose to play a mascot, fan, or player animation. You can also choose between mild or extreme animations. So if you choose an extreme fan animation, you'll see the fans going nuts.

EA SPORTS: What sort of enhancements have been made to Dynasty Mode?

Rod Moye: We really set out to please our hardcore fan base this year. Basically, we went through and added a lot of depth to our already deep Dynasty Mode.

The biggest thing we added for 2005 is program integrity. You now have to keep tabs on your players off the field as they may have academic issues or team rule violations. You can choose to discipline these players by sitting them for a quarter or suspending them for a game (or the entire season). If you fail to maintain your program, the penalties can be quite severe -- from losing scholarships and television exposure, to the inability to play in bowls or for championships, to even the death penalty.

We also added transfers to the mix this year. Players who feel that they don't have a chance to get on the field may ask to transfer to another school. Conversely, you can have players wanting to transfer to your school if you lack depth at certain positions.

Recruiting has also been totally re-worked for 2005. We added a pipeline feature to allow you to build on your recruiting success out of a certain state or region. We also added the ability to recruit a high school athlete that excels in a variety of positions. You can then switch him to a position that best suits your team and he will progress accordingly at this position.

To top it all off, we added detailed scouting (where you can unlock a prospect's attributes without offering him a scholarship), offensive/defensive coaching strategies (which affects play-calling, simulation, and recruiting), 70-man roster, and accurate conference schedule rotations. Needless to say, our hardcore fans will really appreciate the wealth and depth of features in Dynasty Mode for 2005. "

My Huskies are so in trouble with me running the program... trouble off field here we come (just like real life...)

Also sorry if old... but this is the offical

Loved last year's game, looking forward to this one(Thank you, deepdiscountDVD.com).

Glad transfers are in, along with off the field problems(GPA last year determined awareness, but seemed pretty unimportant, maybe it'll actually matter now).

One thing I hope was fixed are recruiting pitches. The playing time pitch was almost entirely random. I could have literally no QBs on my roster and the kid would still say he doesn't like his chances of starting, or I could be stacked at a position and he's going to like the chance to start...

Really you can develop players to play more than one postion!!! *drool*

The dynasty mode sounds sick...sick...sick... That is the main reason I play any sports games and they have went out of their way to make it much deeper!!! *drools*

I mean with all the hype of madden's new franchise depth... I think NCAA's dynasty should be even deeper than Madden's, which it was last year too!!

Just counting down the days now...

Can't wait...Im still gettin the PS2 version due to lack of BB right now...anyone else gettin it?I'd like to have SOMEONE to play against that I know aint a cheeser :(

DM and the crew are flocking to the Xbox version to avoid the beat downs they were gonna receive at the hands of FSU!! :P

I've got this game pre ordered. Really looking forward to this years dynastay mode. Can't wait to turn my Aggies back into a powerhouse:):)

If they pull it off correctly this is going to rule... I doubt they put the good stuff in like boosters and what not.... But it rule if players get hurt at frat parties or other stories that you read about... Also you should be able to just cheat and see how long your program can get away with it!

Hey, if it has my former school, and new Division I-AA powerhouse, North Dakota State University in it, I may have to pick it up for shits and giggles. And a way to kill time until NFL season.

I used to think like that about NCAA, but now I like the Dynasty mode better than Madden's (or ESPN's) hopefully Madden's franchise mode will be better this year...

Are we not allowed to play both?

Im going to finally do the import draft thing this year, since I'm keeping NCAA this time around.

I've always enjoyed the NCAA series more than Madden, and I think a lot of that is due to the dynasty mode in NCAA, mainly thanks to the BCS system. Sure it sucks in real life, but it sure adds a lot of drama to EVERY game you play making a far more interesting season than its professional counterpart. I'll be there July 15th.

Oh I full intend to play both....I do every year... Last year I got owned by the import bug in the Xbox version. Also I hoped they made so that imported players have a chance to be over a 69 like Madden's randomly created players

Heh. I'm really pumped about this game. The only thing holding my excitement back is the lack of hours to actually play the many football games I want this year. I guess I'll go with the PS2 (I prefer Xbox games, but EA tends to screw them up) version of NCAA...I doubt I'll play online much, because the dynasty is so meaty and my online time will be spent with Madden.. It's always a pain in the ass getting my hands on a copy of this game, because they don't distribute them (NCAA) in Canada. A few stores here in T.O get them in, but it's usually a week after you guys.

Operation Sports gets a new NCAA beta in 3 days (according to FMT), we should hear the word if the Xbox version still has slowdown 3 weeks til release.

The death penalty? :o Seriously though, that Dynasty Mode sounds so slick.. wish I'd paid for this when DDD had the sale alongside my Madden pre-order. $50 is too much for me to spend on this so I'll have to pass.

Trade in 2 games to EBgames and get $20 off!

Time to give EB my trash for loot!

Ya, but now EA and Microsoft are all buddy buddy now.

Until I hear of no slowdown, I'm not thinking about the Xbox version. Plus, I know most people here will be on the PS2. It all depends on Madden....Whichever system I get madden for is the one I'll get this on. For the importing of classes, I need to have both for the same system.

this is one the few games worth 50$...

Even though this will be the first PS2-era NCAA game without Eli Manning, I still can't wait. Football season begins for me when this game comes out.

And the Ole Miss Rebels will be happy to whip the ass of any GAF member's weaksauce school on Live.
