Hey Baseball GAF.

Opinions.

James Loney has had a pretty ridiculous two months (Dodgers) but even at his best he's never hit more than 20 hrs as their starting first baseman.

He's a defensively talented left handed first baseman, that will probably hit 18 home runs/ 95 RBIs over the next 5 years and nothing better than that.

We all know that offensively

Prince Fielder > James Loney

But, if the Dodgers could find the money to get Fielder in the off season, should they get him?

Potential lineup

Dee Gordon
Jerry Sands
Matt Kemp
Prince Fielder
Andre Ethier
Rob Barajas
Juan Uribe
Justin Sellers/ Miles

That's your default lineup for next year.

Good enough for playoffs? I think so.

Dude, save this for another time. Epic live action going on.

If Ethier comes back healthy and puts up numbers like he did two years ago, Kemp stays at the level he's at, and Gordon stays at the level he's reached in the second half of the season, then yes, I think that team wins the NL West easily.

Dodgers are not signing anybody. Let alone Fielder who is asking for the world.

Loney said he went to Mattingly and said he could play LF if it meant bringing in a bat like Fielder.

All pipe dreams though...

I miss Pence :(

Ps - F u Zep

If the Yanks are so set on throwing the game for Tampa why not just get it over with and give four intentional walks? They obviously have no intentions of playing the game straight up so why not go all out on the intentional loss?
