As for 2 player in Double Dragon, I believe they're referring to the VS. mode.

I don't know if Taito was signed on VC

Wii-kly Update: One New Classic Game Added to Wii Shop Channel
NOA, WHAT THE HELL? ONE GAME? I'M USUALLY A SOFT SPOKEN EASY GOING GUY, BUT FUCK!!! In the past I've downloaded about 90 VC games for myself plus given about a dozen gifts, but lately the VC has nearly dried up. Does NOA hate money or what? /rantJSnake said:April 28, 2008
Wii-kly Update: One New Classic Game Added to Wii Shop Channel
Theres one new game for the Virtual Console this week and its a double. Double Dragon is a true action-fighting classic. This side-scroller brought the arcade original into the home and laid the groundwork for numerous sequels. Itll get your nostalgia engine fired up. Now go put the hurt on some bad guys and save Marian.
Nintendo adds new games to the Wii Shop Channel at 9 a.m. Pacific time every Monday. Wii owners with a high-speed Internet connection can redeem Wii Points to download the games. Wii Points can be purchased in the Wii Shop Channel or at retail outlets. This weeks new games are:
Double Dragon (NES®, 1-2 players, Rated Everyone 10+ Mild Violence, 500 Wii Points): Double Dragon begins with Billy Lees girlfriend, Marian, being kidnapped by a group called the Black Warriors. They demand to know the secrets of Billys martial-arts style in exchange for his girlfriend. However, Billy wont stand for these underhanded tactics and decides to rescue her himself. Help him fight through city streets, buildings, jungles, temples and various other locations in a quest to find his girl. Hell gain experience by using different fighting techniques to obtain more hearts, which will unlock more powerful techniques to use against his enemies. Keep an eye out for crates, boulders, whips, bats, knives and even dynamite along the way, as Billy can also use them to annihilate opponents. Armed with his mysterious and powerful martial arts, help Billy pummel his way through an array of goons, gang members and other Black Warrior scum to free Marian from their clutches.

What am I supposed to do on Monday now??!?!?! :O!!!!
At least if you released a well known game on Sunday, I wouldn't be complaining about not playing an at least 10 years old game that I probably already played before, this Monday!!!
But now, Monday is ruined..because I only got new game on the Virtual Console..that I wasn't going to download anyway!!!"
But there's no Hard Disk Drive!! Where are you going to store them?!?!? Magic??!! Hope??!..ethelred said:I'd rather pay to download quality old games for under 10$ than spend fifty for a shitty rehash of a decade old game.

Worst VC week EVER!!!!

Yikes, did Mario Kart rape your mom and steal your sister's virginity? That was highly uncalled for.ethelred said:Are you that upset that you got taken for a ride with Super Mario Kart: Now With a Plastic Wheel? I can't say I blame you... I'd be pretty annoyed if I were suckered that thoroughly, too. Still, why not toddle back over to the thread for that game where you can reminisce with the other folks who've managed to convince themselves that they're actually having fun playing that instead of better, if older, games? This is still, alas, the thread for the Virtual Console.
Yeah..I forgot..the thread about how much Virtual Console sucks..every week..silly me!ethelred said:Are you that upset that you got taken for a ride with Super Mario Kart: Now With a Plastic Wheel? Also, you're clearly not a fan of the VC, so WHY ARE YOU HERE?

Having 16 games, and like 15 more on backlog because I'm saving Wii Points for WiiWare..and still not a fan of the Virtual Cosnole?
What do I need to do, to be a fan of Virtual Console? Complain on this thread..EVERY WEEK that the games I wanted were not released that week??
Yeah, well let's see..
Where's Kirby Super Star, Nintendo?
Where's Super Mario RPG, Nintendo?
Where's Chrono Trigger, Nintendo?
Where's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Tournament Fighters, Nintendo?
Where's Yoshi's Island, Nintendo?
Where's Killer Instinct, Nintendo?
Where's Super Mario All-Stars, Nintendo?
Where's Mortal Kombat, Nintendo?
Where's Mortal Kombat II, Nintendo?
Where's Mortal Kombat 3, Nintendo?
Am I a fan now?
Heck I'm like 1 out of the 3 people around here, that actually "cleans his fridge" ..and that gets slammed when I recommend others to "clean theirs"..![]()

DavidDayton said:I'm not sure I "get" the Virtual Console tomfoolery as of late. There really doesn't seem to be any reason for NOA to seemingly limit the number of VC releases, but we're getting very few games. Have we ever heard anything as to why we're getting so few? Is it an issue with NOA, the U.S. branches of 3rd party publishers, or ....?
I mean, it's not like Japan is seeing a cutback, so it can't be NCL.
It was in response to Sven's comment about Capcom not being behind the lack of BC (and it being Nintendo rather). I was expecting a shitstorm about Nintendo "going back to their old ways, blah, blah" although I imagine there's more to it than Nintendo not releasing the game because it's too good or something (there's been better anyway). Either way Nintendo f'ed up pretty bad with the 1 game week so looks like I was at least half-right.Cheesemeister said:Why, do you know something we don't?
Well, outside of major forums like this does anyone really care about the VC Press release every week? Probably not until the situation starts to noticeably improve. On the other hand, maybe Nintendo is just trying to save us from ourselves; if they stop releasing lots of games worth downloading, there won't be any need for a hard-drive!Kobun Heat said::lol :lol :lol

I've bought about twenty more VC games than I've ever owned physical cartridges or discs for a system, but that's not a decent excuse for the current state of VC. I could be buying even more games if they were made available.JoshuaJSlone said:*shrug* In 17 months I've gotten 23 VC games. That's more than I physically own for Wii, pre-Advance Game Boy, or SNES. One more and it'd be tied with N64 and PS2. Quite easily the most games I've ever had for any platform in such a short time. I'm happy because it's provided.
You just don't get it. I'm not sure why I waste my time like this to refute strawman arguments week in and week out, but fine, I'll go another round--especially since my life situation might be changing really quick in the next few days and I might not be on GAF so often. That being the case, might as well argue with glory while I'm certain I still can. So let's go over why all of your examples are fabulously off the mark.fernoca said:What do I need to do, to be a fan of Virtual Console? When I get a 360, I won't be complaining about XBLA releases unless, just like Virtual Console, games are rated and appear ready for release but proceed not to show for nine months. If Microsoft is unable to convince people to sign on to put up more classic titles (albeit with minor additions, e.g. Castlevania: Symphony of the Night or Streets of Rage 2), that sucks, but criticism wouldn't even stand the vaguest of chances at changing the status quo.Conrad Link said:I'm almost scared to go into the PSN or XBLA threads, surely with the nothing they get each week compared to VC and Wiiware getting nothing (or games every week rather) it would be [...] constant meltdown city of complaints every post in those ones.

If that's the case then I firmly stand by Nintendo.
