...Although my real complaint is with the lack of two games, not necessarily PSIV specifically. But I'm sure I don't need to go over that again...
This is still the VC thread though.dyls said:Space Invaders at 500 points is a no-brainer.
And really the "lame update" in the thread title only pertains to VC; the WW update is good even if Pit Crew sucks.

Worse enemy and powerup placement though.
Thanks for the heads up. I unlocked three of the four balls by playing the three tables in arcade mode (I think you also need to finish with a certain score, since my first time attempting table 2 I only got around 2 million and it didn't unlock the ball). I assume the last ball can be unlocked by getting a high enough score in story mode.poppabk said:For people who have bought Alien Crush Returns there are new action balls available to download for free. Not sure how to activate them for use in the game yet, probably have to beat story mode. Hope this means that (free) DLC tables will become available soon.
Iam Canadian said:Well, for a game like Metal Slug, I do consider less slowdown to be pretty important.
And personally, I liked MSX's enemy and weapon layout more. Besides, MSX has enemies and weapons that aren't even in MS2, like the Iron Lizard and those mummy dog enemies.
I only got to play for 5 or 10 minutes or so, but it seemed pretty enjoyable. I didn't read up on the controls too much and I felt like I was mainly just hammering buttons mindlessly - even still I managed to beat the first area. The different attack options and online leaderboards should give the game plenty of depth though. Graphics wise it looks very nice on an HD LCD through component, with very little aliasing. For $5 you can't go wrong I think, but I am not sure that I will be buying any of the DLC, especially not before the storage solution is ready.Gryphter said:anyone have an early impression of space invaders get even?

Ai Yazawa (author of Nana) helped designing the Princess Ai character that spawned a short series of 3 volumes some years ago. The drawing for the original series was done by Misaho Kujiradou, and, while it was pretty good, if this new one features the same Ai character and Yazawa's art, I'm really interested.RpgN said:I guess I should put the news here. Tokyopop and Sandenshi are planning on releasing a manga titled プリンセス・アイ物語 (princess ai monogatari) on wiiware in Japan. This manga is from the same mangaka behind the shojo manga Nana, that is quite popular in Japan and worldwide. The manga will start next year on the 6th of January and will be released in sets. Total of 15 volumes will be released, the first set will contain the first 3 volumes for 500 wiipoints, after that 2 volumes set will be 200 wiipoints each. You can select the language in Japanese and English (for the importers or owners who own Japanese wii, hint hint!). There will be different modes to view the manga for the preference of users. The story is going to be a fantasy love story and will take place in the US.

I find that new tidbit quite interesting. We'll probably not get it in EU or US, but it's nice to see different uses for the wiiware. Will we get more mangas in the future?

I see. Then it's probably like the old series, Yazawa doing some designs and Kujiradou drawing the actual manga. I would rather have Yazawa doing the entire thing as I love her work but having Kujiradou back is good too, top notch art + it will keeps things consistent instead of a completely new artist.RpgN said:Thanks for the correction. But famitsu is putting both their names and a huge emphasis on Ai Yazawa and her Nana series. I suppose they just want to cash in on her name and the series?
EDIT
I mean they do say Misaho Kujiradou is in charge of the manga in one small sentence, while Ai Yazawa has an in-depth info on her Nana and her character design work...I'm confused >_<
EDIT:
Edited the gender of the mangaka part. I forgot most shojo manga artists are female![]()

They put much emphasis on Yazawa's involvement because Nana is a huge sucess and all that. It's like when they put Mitsuda as the composer for a game, when in fact he only did 2 or 3 tracks. :lol
Anyway, thanks for the heads up!
Anyone?_dementia said:Does the VC version of MS2 have boss hitflash?
Since they say it will be a total of 15 volumes, I'm thinking it will be some sort of sequel or prequel to the original 3 volumes manga.Proven said:Hmm, testing the waters for something new. Could be interesting.
It would be more interesting to test with a new manga that gave WiiWare some time of exclusitivity, either a few weeks or until an entire volume is finished. Choosing an old manga though tries to get fans to rebuy on a different medium, will be easily recommended to people that have never read it before, and allows them to release so many volumes so quickly and keep them cheap.

JoshuaJSlone said:I think Nintendo looks at VC/WW as more a whole than some of you do. Then it's not a matter of whether there's 1 or 2 VC games, but a consistency of 3-4 new downloads a week.
It's not like they're that separated in the store. Just one of the distinctions you pick while going through the system. Old stuff or new stuff? Which platform of VC? Which genre of game?Ranger X said:Still it's 2 different things. VC and Wiiware are 2 services, sections of the store and they also appeal to some different audiences.
I hate the NOA's way of seeing those as one whole thing. I mean why the fuck do you seperate them like it's 2 different things? Why marketing their stuff like that while they could simply make it clear and say "it's the same damn thing" and upload the stuff at the same place, like XBLA?
