Official Call of Duty: Black Ops III Reveal Trailer

It's beautiful, Treyarch coming full circle to rip off wall running from Titanfall.

Respawn should be so proud in what they created after leaving CoD behind, bet Activision were really kicking themselves when they realised they'd had to take ideas from Titanfall for the next CoD.

So EXO's out and AUG's in. Movement sounds just like Titanfall for the most part based on Siwftor's video. This shit is going to be hot. Can't wait.

Since it seems like no one is watching the videos of the opinions linked earlier, I'll post some of what was said.

-Slower movement speed than AW, especially in the air.
-Air dashing and wall running are not ideal for combat. Mostly used strictly for traversal.
-Water combat is "seamless".
-Much more ground based than AW.
-Wall running is stricter and less abundant than Titanfall. You won't be bouncing from wall to wall with little loss of momentum like in Titanfall.

Sounds awesome to me. Improved traversal to get to where you need to be more efficiently but more "grounded" in actual combat.

Best of both

Tbh looks like they crtl+c'd some mechanics from CoD:AW and pasted it onto Black Ops 2.

I wish you could buy the zombie modes seperatly :l

I mean AW fine, exo suits taking some inspiration from Titanfall, understandable many games are doing that. But this is getting ridiculous, wall running now? How is this even acceptable in their minds.

I may be wrong, but seriously... So Titanfall brings all the changes and this just comes along swoops it up and takes the $$$. Honestly feel sorry for Respawn, left COD, to still help COD.

And this is coming from someone who loved AW.

Tbh titanfall 2 should be a lot better than the original. Also this time around they will be able to put it out on ps4 so that should help them in the sales department. Tbh I need to see more from this game before I make my opinion. I hated AW so hopefull treyarch can make me like COD again this year.

I still feel like they need to take bigger risks in story and gameplay. It won't happen with Black Ops 3 I guess. The teaser set up a nice story premise but the actual trailer done nothing for me and looks like something I've played a billion times already.

Maaaaaan..... what a let down.....

This is a sign of the new COD for years to come. We had YEARS of WW2 combat. Then we had YEARS of modern combat. Now we will have YEARS of sci-fi future combat.

It was fun last year with AW, but it already has overstayed its welcome. Especially if its rinse and repeat every year like this. AW was fresh and gave me many hours of fun after being on a COD hiatus for years. Looks like I have to go back on that pattern and pass for a few years if this is all we are going to get.

why not a COD taking place in an alternate universe in a WW setting?
why not have a steampunk COD?
why not have a completely apocalyptic setting using home made weapons and have termoil between various nomad tribes?
Why not go all out and be in space? between planets?

there are SO many options.

Sorry if people were already discussing this... but what is going to happen to Halo 5? Didn't Halo 4 have the same issue of losing players when Black Ops 2 released about a week later?

they strait copied the titanfall wall running (look at the comparison gifs) and I have played 10 days of AW so far and probably longer in titanfall. How is this not copying titanfall's movement system? its also momentum based just like titanfall.
It's one mechanic. It's not "copying", it's using a similar idea. Borrowing would be the most accurate word.
Copying implies they just lazily slapped it on, and knowing Treyarch, they didn't.
Besides, I remember not really liking BO2's reveal and then by the time the game came out I absolutely loved it.

This trailer just reinforced why I don't like treyarch cod's. Too cheese with no personality and bad art and character design, it's not because AW did it first, it just did it way better :(

Visuals are equivalent to Black Ops II maxed out on PC.

Anyways, Treyarch are taking risks, particularly in new gen exclusivity risking a loss of those signature big numbers Call of Duty sells every year.
Not to mention, the hardcore Call of Duty fans seem pretty unhappy if Twitter and Facebook is anything to go by.

I don't know, Treyarch was always the underdog dev that delivered, I assume the same will happen this time.

So in other words, you don't even need to do any of that. That's wonderful to hear.

Halo 5 will have the fact that it's the first 'proper' next-gen Halo game helping its case but yeah, it's gonna get buried by COD again.

I'll have to wait and see, trailer was unimpressive all around. Level design needs to be absolutely great before I will consider, Treyarch makes some really good maps though.

Damn, some of you guys are salty af. This looks fantastic and though there may be some heavy influences from AW, Titanfall, or Destiny it looks pretty different to me. Plus its Treyarch so I mean its going to be fantastic. I see why some of you guys are saying it looks worse than AW but its most definitely because of the 'scope' they are applying to this game. Its much different structurally and I'm hype as fuck!

Count. Me. In.

There needs to be dolphin dives. Was that one when he dove into the water?

This term is so overused. Just because you're excited for it, it doesn't mean people who aren't are "salty".

Yeah, because you're going to tell me exactly what qualifies as minimal changes because you're some expert tools engineer right?

How did you know?

They'll probably see a significant drop in numbers if the game is not up to snuff. They had to know this releasing the game in October.

The trailer was so shit, Treyarch didn't even try. Also a very unimpressive game graphically, it's not a step up from AW in any way, shape or form. AW really seems to have taken Treyarch cake and eaten it, from taking the zombies idea to the futuristic shit, do wonder what Trey think about AW.

There are things in the trailer that didn't gel with me. The character designs looks like the custom characters from Blacklight Retribution like down to the helmets.

The main thing I can see in the SP reveal is are the robot just going to be regular dudes or like binary domain robots. I can't think of a better shooter game that does robots better then Binary Domain. It didn't look like you could destroy individual robot limbs. They just look like they behave you aggressive dudes.

It does look like they improve the fire effect since BLOPS1.

I really hope it doesn't. I love playing Halo and I hope both games have large player bases for a long time to come. This just seems like history repeating itself is a possibility.

I'll preorder the minimum to play the beta, but unless it super impresses me this game will have to wait until like February for me since its coming out so close to SWBF.

If I want to be in the beta do I need to preorder it from GameStop or anywhere?

Also, I play my PS4 more than my Xbox One but all my real life friends are one Xbox. For the CoD community (and Battlefront/Battlefield) is there a big difference between Xbox One and PS4?

How did you know?

Nobody really does, and that's the problem. The fact that it's being perpetuated only proves that people are ignoring other devs that build games off old engines more often than not. Or that there could be other factors at play, not the least of which is COD games run at 60fps. How many console games do you know run at that framerate with COD's visual fidelity?

So there's wallrunning. I am curious about the TF comparisons.

Doesn't look too fast like AW, which I'm happy with. More curious for the MP reveal, naturally

Black Ops 3 is getting the Call of Duty Wii treatment by Activision.

The game is cross-generational but they will not confirm the existence of or discuss the last generation versions until very close to launch.

Anywhere you preorder nets you the beta, and based on the screens provided by GAF throughout AW's launch, PS4 had more players online.
