Official Fable II Thread

Just received my review copy in the mail today and started my binge session -- so far, the introduction to the game is a tad bit too slow for my liking.

I'll be receiving the limited edition on Monday, though I still haven't looked into what's exactly in the limited edition since they removed all those goodies.

Right now I am splitting time between Dead Space and Fable 2 which makes it tough to choose.

it will definitely affect the gameplay
you start out being able to buy some of the best stuff in the game
make the right choice and play the game how it was meant to be played

Choose? Doesn't review copy means you have to review it? :lol

Anyway.....

People compare this to Oblivion and all, i personally think this is MS's very own Zelda.

Pretty sure that poster was just being a smart ass. I'm also still waiting to hear what ramifications there are.

Nah, not really when many companies have sent games and said don't worry about review coverage but rather concentrate on implementing it into editorial coverage. Plus a few companies don't care whether or not a review goes up.

Though, what i meant about choosing was figuring out which one to invest more of my time into first to complete from start to end.

All this talk of it being hard to come by gold, I'm thinking of doing that challenge that awards you 1000 gold, although I forgot the link to it and what to do. :lol Any help?

I am just going to outright deny that as I was the one that said it

that removes all credability

well it's a part of it, but it's actually up to the publications I write to provide assignments not a video game publisher. Also, for multiplatform games, a company may only ask for one review rather than three individual ones.

It all depends though.

Back to Fable 2 talk though :)

You already started Dead Space, and it's the shorter game so finish that one first, forget about Fable 2.

Then jump to Fable 2.

LOL, thanks for the advice. Both games are great though :).

I hate being called 'Sparrow' at the start of the game, it's annoying.

Would you rather have been called Chicken Chaser? On that subject, can anyone with the game give a quick list of the titles they've come across?

haha, I'm still in the beginning part of Fable 2, so I haven't ran across the titles part. Right now I've just
had my blood analyzed to see if I'm a hero
.

So i have the ability to go get this right now. I need convincing. I havent played an rpg since ff7. I really want to get back into the swing of things. From what i have seen this looks like a good place to start. User friendly with a lot of depth. amirite?

The game is awesome. Every bit as good as I expected, after about an hour of play.
 
for those who are embarking on their quest already... how do you..

unlock all the gold and items your ancestors left behind in the first cave's last treasure chest? the text says to go to fable2.com but i see nothing there

Couple questions from a fan of the first game. Haven't read any of the reviews.

Is it longer than 5 hours?
Is it really really linear?
Are there things to do after you beat the game, and are there incentives to play through more than once besides just being super good instead of super evil?
Are shades of grey in the morality scale or is it still better to be all the way over on one end or the other?

I haven't started mine yet, but is the bonus dungeon/weapons on the extra disc? I didn't see a voucher in the case to download the CE stuff since that's how most games do it.

It's longer than 5 hours haha. I've put in two and I've just started my journey with taking sidequests and jobs.

In the box, there is a card with the download code that you redeem at the marketplace to download the bonus content.

So I went to the first site while logged into Live, completed the puppet show, and it said I would get an evil expression and a dye when I logged into Fable 2, but I exit the game, start it up and get nothing. I wonder if it won't happen until the game officially launches, or whether there was a server error (which is what I get if I try to redeem it again).

I just went and did the flash game and obtained the items after saving in the room and logging back into my account. You did it with your gamertag logged in on the web site?
 
I'm just amazed by the game. There is just so much things to do ! I think I will play this for a very, very long time.

the fable 2 website kept saying I had an error logging into my s/n to redeem my items (doll and tattoo). ahh, oh well. I'll try again later
