I have a question :

How do you basically... uh... fuck ? I just got married and I bought a house but nothing happens when I come into it with my wife :(

I think there is a book you need to buy in the bookstore to do this. Haven't tried it myself though.

Don't you worry that's going to ruin your entire game experience?

Buying the best equipment right at the start of the game never seems very fun to me. Though it would be cool to invest it in a nice big house.

I kind of regret transferring the 200k I had. I was able to buy a really good sword and awesome clothes right from the beginning. Don't really get the same satisfaction, oh well. Game is still a blast though.

Also, what are the best money making properties? Do you get more money for renting out homes or from buying shops?

Sometimes games like this do stupid things... (minor spoiler) -
I can defeat wave after wave of Spire guards with a devastating AOE electric attack, and then some old man with a torch can lock me in a wooden cage? Uh huh.

This is THE MOST anticipated game this gen for me. Along with MGS4 and Halo 3.

Glad to hear it turned out to be great, though i always expected it. Well done Moleneux and Lionhead

I'm curious - how much does everything cost in the game? People are going in with millions from the pub games, but is that really necessary?

If you want to buy property, then yes. Property is pretty expensive.

Also, it needs to be said that this game is really, really good, but it is plagued by numerous glitches. People floating, your dog flying, character models stuttering (like moving back and forth rapidly), the inability to move to places you should be able to due to bad geometry. If Lionhead didn't pull off all of the awesome stuff that they did, then this would almost be on the Two Worlds level of bugs. Like, for example, one time I saw a woman walking through the Town Square with a chair attached to her hand. Like, everything she did with her arm, the chair moved around in the air, like it was tied to her hand. This sort of stuff happens a lot.

An epic tale heartache and triumph follows...

Like first Fable but with gender. You can buy dyes later and dye yourself retarded in all forms.

No. You hear everything from your headset like normal. If you are not talking you can turn it to friends only. So unless you have a dick friend following you around your good.

You can paint your skin various colors. So blackface confirmed technically.

This playoff game is too good to stop watching. I might as well just stop playing Fable 2 all together..... =(

You guys please be serious in here. There are sores all over my body. I don't want to die. =(

Basically I've been just sleeping and eating veggies but still fat as hell. My body has sores all over. I have flies around me. Keep drinking potions to cure, don't work. I have evil raccoon eyes.

I was the fucking hero. This is how these fucks repay me...

I'm getting better! All it takes is a positive attitude and some tofu.

*Scratch that. Being evil cures you. I took my clothes off and I have colored veins all over my body and horns.

Also thank everyone for their kind words and help the other day about my illness. At first I didn't want to mention it on GAF in fear that people would treat me differently. Thanks to everyone's kind donations in Bowerstone I'm STD and corrupt-free. I have a beautiful wife Stacey and a young daughter now. I now spend my time in Old Bowerstone giving free sock puppet shows to the less fortunate children as a way of giving back to the community. Also I killed that cunt of a barmaid carrying the hiv....fucking force pushed her into the fucking ocean.
SanjuroTsubaki said:
I've never been chased by the law. I lured her of to the docks and did the deed. The only thing someone said they would report me is when I fucked in someones bed....the guards didn't seem to care.

Impressions from another forum, keeping the forum and poster anonymous.

Yup. Been playing it all day (night? shit, lost track of time)

I haven't done a whole lot in the way of the game. I worked on becoming a master blacksmith and a master woodcutter so that earned me about 90k Gold. Now I've just been going around buying up all the small businesses I can find. I've got it now to where I get paid about 1000 gold every 5 minutes just for walking around. But I'm still on the first mission or whatever.

This game's pretty fun.

I've pretty much so been playing it all day. I think I'm about 2/3 of the way through the game right now. I've been doing a lot of the side quests, so maybe not quite 2/3rds. Its very fun and I am enjoying it, but really the biggest thing I noticed was how much it makes me appreciate how amazing and epic Oblivion was.

I'm pretty sure you could take one of the major side stories (like one of the guilds) from Oblivion, release that as a standalone game and it would still feel larger than Fable 2. There's no large open landscapes. If you choose not to warp everywhere you end up walking though the same narrow roadways dozens of times, killing the same 40 bad guys over and over again. Which means you warp everywhere or die of a mixture of boredom and carpal tunnel. When comparing to Oblivion nothing is as big, as grandiose, or as complex. There's no armor to speak of. Only a handful of weapons (unless there are lots more nearer the end of the game) None of the cool stuff like creating your own potions, spells, or enchantments. Leveling up is a simplified version of what it should be, the menu system is one of the worst I've seen in gaming (seriously, whoever designed it has no right to be in the video game business) The map system is a joke (no zooming? are you kidding me?) and my biggest complaint is that when you "die" you just fall over, lose some xp, and get back up with a full health meter. It really takes away any sense of challenge and danger that should be there. Also I usually hate people that whine about how you can't jump in games like this, but there are times when it's beyond painful to not be able to hop up onto some 6 inch rock that's standing in your way.

All those complaints being said, it's still a great game that has managed to keep me entertained and held my attention for the better part of a day and a half. Which is quite the accomplishment for a video game these days. I'd give it a good solid 8/10.

I just beat it. A little over 17 hours of gameplay time. And I feel like I did a large portion of the side quests. I have to say I feel a little let down at the size of it all. I guess now I could play it again as an evil mage or something. But I don't really feel like I missed a lot the first time through.

Actually the more I think about it, the more pissed off I am. I won't spoil things but the ending sequence is a joke. It's like they ran out of time so they're like...oh shit, hurry up and put an ending in quick!

I really feel pissed off and let down over this.

Hows the weather/changing seasons system cocop?
I have not noticed any changing seasons, except
for when you get back from the passage of time that occurs like when you get jailed in Fable 1.
And the weather system is fine. Sometimes it rains. It's cool, and it's the sort of thing you'll take for granted.

Ugh... right after I posted that note about the constant glitching, I hit the big one. I'm stuck with a "Press A to pay the bard ten gold in exchange for a song." So I walk slowly everywhere, and I can't pause the game to quit out because it just says "Scene paused," and I can't get my menu. Luckily, due to that "dirty disc" message that I got yesterday, I've been saving every few minutes, so I won't lose much playtime. I have to reset, I guess, because I'm not even cloes to the Bard anymore, and that dialogue won't go away. : (

Yeah, I encountered a lot of what you mentioned earlier today. My dog got stuck on a campfire and was hovering like 5ft in the air above it. :lol

I think I remember Peter saying it would COST about 100 million to buy everything in the game!

Man, now I'm thinking I should probably wait for the PC version.

So how much money does a typical house cost?
$40-60,000

And WOW, this is getting annoying. I got stuck in the "scene" mode again, and so I'm about to lose another twenty minutes because I can't interact with doors and stuff, so I can't move to certain areas. Even going through loading zones doesn't break the "scene," so I can't access my menu. Ergh...

Oh no...

I tried going into a game with the Game Master to break the scene and apparently it autosaved... so I just loaded up my save and I am still stuck in the scene...

Shiiiiit, ok here's a rundown of what happened. I did the fable2.com game a few days ago and only got the tattoo and something else, I got the game today and got my reward from the treasure box. Shortly after that I remembered about the chicken suit and the other crown as well. So I went to the site again and got the other two crowns and redeemed the prizes, I started a new game and made it all the way to the treasure box only to have the game tell me that I need to visit fable2.com to learn how to redeem the stuff. It tells me the same thing if I load my first save, am I screwed or does it take a while for the site to communicate with the game for the items?

Well, this is great. Unless I can think of something, my game is broken. I'm stuck in "scene" mode, so I can't interact with most doors, and I can't pull out my weapons. And I can't access my menu. And it won't fix when I pass into a new loading zone. I am around some enemies now and they're just standing there staring at me. But I am stuck because there's a door I have to pass through to get out this area and I can't open it. And the only other exit requires me to use my weapon to cut down some bushes. But I can't do that because I can't draw my sword.

WTF

Dom, how do I do that. And the only way I can "save," I guess, is by going back into a game with the Game Master and letting it autosave.

Go to system blade, Push A on "Memory", then push Y, then push "X X LB RB X X", it'll ask if you want to do maintenace on your HDD (deletes ALL patches only), say yes. Then boot up Fable II, re-download its patch and re-try the same scene.

Nope, screwed. It didn't do a bloody thing. I'm right back at the Game Master where it autosaved, and I am still stuck in scene mode. Thanks anyway.

I found another exit, so I have access to the rest of the world, but I am still screwed... I went to a shooting range, and I can't even pull out my gun in there. I am just standing there watching the targets move around and I can't do anything.

"Ooh, you can lay down your weapon now! The first round can be tricky for beginners, so don't sweat it! Better luck next time!"

Ugh.

Guh, this game sounds like a "keep several saves or you're screwed" situation.

You can't keep several saves.

Wiggum2007 said:
No multiple save slots like Fable 1 had?
No. There are no "slots." You just save and that's it. It overwrites whatever you previously had saved.

Isn't there a Lionhead guy that posts in here? Help me out, man, please. Any ideas on what I can do? This is really lame.

EDIT: I am about to go into the
Arena
(which I've already done a couple of times). Let's see what happens now.... it's GOT to let me draw my sword in there, right? Haha.

Double EDIT: No dice - still couldn't draw my weapon. The enemies appeared and then just stood around and stared at me - I was stuck. It autosaved right before I went in, so now I'm in Wescliff, but still stuck in scene mode.

Cocop, I suggest emailing Lionhead with your problems asap.

Unless they know about these issues and are patching it up when the Online co-op update hits.

If you are speaking of this book which explains how to flirt with someone, I already have it...
I'm just in front of the bed with my wife but I can't do anything, I use the "thumb up" but nothing happens :(

There is a Lionhead guy that posts here, and I can see that he's been active since I've been having this problem... hopefully he'll shoot me a PM or something. I am about to go to Lionhead's site and see if there's a place for me to e-mail them.

I walked (all the way) back to Bowerstone Market Square. I still can't think of any way to fix this, but the Market Square at least has more options than any other place (I would think).

Hm, nevermind, the guy that I thought was Lionhead here, isn't.

I e-mailed them, but I doubt there's much they can do. : (

All I know is that it is not a good sign when one of the first twenty people (I didn't see anyone else in Bloodstone when I was there) to reach Bloodstone has his game irreparably broken.
