i am gunna assume the guy on the phone was just uninformed.
that's gunna suck spending xtra cash just to get the halo3 sword and outfit and then not even have it with the game.
I'll definitely be doing that. Hopefully Amazon will send the "complete" LE copies out. Otherwise, I'm not sure who I would have to call in order to get the extras.a Master Ninja said:Since every copy of Fable II comes with a 48-hour Gold trial, and I encourage anybody who doesn't need it to share the wealth with your fellow gaffers here.

However I do have one query, because perhaps its somewhat hard to believe. Is it true that you actually can not die in this game? Like you just keep playing? what happens if a big monster gets to you?
I've never really enjoyed RPGs due to having to level up and up and up but then still be smashed by some big monster but Fable 2 seems to not have this.
I am on the right wave length ? That's what I am gathering from reviews.
You can't die. When your health reaches zero, you get "knocked out," and you fall to the ground. You lose XP and then you get back up at full health - every time this happens, you get scarred. And the scars are (as far as I know) irreversible. Accumulate enough scars and you'll be looked down on by people in the game.Choc said:I wasn't realy interested in Fable 2 until I read some of the reviews and the game sounds astonishing.

I can't think of any time during the game where I had to grind to be able to get past a section.Choc said:I've never really enjoyed RPGs due to having to level up and up and up but then still be smashed by some big monster but Fable 2 seems to not have this.

There isn't leveling, but you do learn moves, spells, and have access to better weapons as you progress through the game. The enemies have different methods of attack, and that's how things are made harder. The first enemies you encounter don't block and they are very slow. As you make your way further into the story, and more areas are opened up to you, you'll come across enemeis that may block more, or may cast spells to deal damage. I always seemed to encounter these guys right as I had gotten strong enough to deal with them. But even if you aren't strong enough, you can just play it smart. Stand back and shoot at them, roll on the ground to dodge their strong attacks if you can't take the hits. Things like that. Most of the hardest enemies (excluding bosses) in the game could probably be beaten when you're at a low level, if you strategize, and play off of their moves and weaknesses.Zeliard said:How is the leveling, actually? There's no level scaling, is there? Fable 2 seems like it would be exceptionally fun to explore in, and level scaling would seriously rob it of some of that.

You know, I don't know how the unlocking of areas works. Your quests, of course, involve going places... so whenever I got to a new place, I did all of the side-quests, and then the main quest. At which point it told me to go to another new place to continue the story. Maybe someone else here has tried progressing further without completing the main quests.Zeliard said:Do you stumble upon those tougher enemies while exploring, though, or do you have to advance in the story first? I guess that relates to how open the environment actually is to you off the bat, or if you have to "unlock" sections first through the story.
Definitely on. I was against it at first, but you definitely need it. The world is too huge and confusing without it.Teknoman said:So what do you guys think would be the best way for adventuring? Crumb trail on or off?

You could break into houses and kill everyone in there, yeah. But you'd have guards constantly after you. And you can rob peoples' houses, too. Like, go in and steal all of their gold and items.Sailor said:I just have one deciding factor to getting this game or not - length.
I just want to know, how long is the Single Player? I've heard it's around 10-15 hours...but I'm not sure. I'm also not sure what you can do after you finish the main storyline of the game..I mean, is that it? Or is there more to do? I want to get this game..but I can't justify the $60 if it's only 10-15 hours long (with the exception of games that have Xbox Live).
So, is there really much to do after you finish the main storyline and everything?
Also..how is the freedom? Can I really do whatever I want? Like, burn villages down..break into peoples houses and rob them; that sort of stuff? I would much rather break into the castle and take it over than save up cash to buy it >![]()
Cocopjojo said:Definitely on. I was against it at first, but you definitely need it. The world is too huge and confusing without it.
Nah you'll definitely need it. I turn it off at times just to get lost when im not doing a quest but unless you have pateince * 1000 you'll end up turning it back on once you need to go somewhere specific. You can get around by just using the map at the pause screen and reading signs on the road but the world is WAY too big to try and get thru the entire game that way IMO.Sailor said:But doesn't it ruin the experience of exploration? :\
I dunno, I guess it's different for many people..it just feels like they're holding my hand through the game with the inclusion of a crumb trail. It's just like a guide, which make me feel very dirty every time I look into them :lol

Since you age as the game progresses, I wonder if the dog ages as well, and if there's potentially an Old Yeller moment later in the game.
Damn. Tomorrow evening needs to be here now. I have too many questions I need answered from Molyneux Part Deux.
Cocopjojo said:I have been really, really impressed with these. They are not Mass Effect-style boring sidequests that occur in generic caves. Some are (like "Rescue the Slaves!", but a lot of them are really fleshed out with their own islands, caves, forests, dialogue, puzzles, and humour.
