Official Fable II Thread

:( :(

I REALLY don't want to marry
Alex. She's... ugly.

But on the other hand, I'm trying to play a 100% "good" character and it's clear as day that that's the "good" choice.

Although... it's not really THAT good. Marrying someone to prevent them from having their feelings hurt is a pretty evil thing to do, too.

I guess in hindsight, the whole quest is kind of evil, because you have to seduce someone for nefarious purposes.

*sigh*

I guess I'll just marry her.

Just don't do the quest. That's what I did. I just ignored it.

Just take her to the woods and kill her when no one is around :D

So this is my first time really getting into Fable, I played the first for the PC a while back but only got a few hours in. I must say, that this game is really enjoyable! I haven't gotten this emerged into a game were I cant put down the controller since God of War II! Although the graphics aren't necessarily the best, they kind of look like really good MMO graphics at times, that's pretty much the last thing on my mind. One thing I really love though is the dog. It really add some depth to the over-all "emotion" of the game. One thing I would have liked to see though is a cut on the fucking hero shit. We know that's the point of the game, everyone doesn't always need to point it out every fucking conversation. Super repetitive :/

But in all, I couldn't be happier with the game! I even traded in the PoS SOCOM towards it(but that's another story)....

That's one of things I'm enjoying about this game, it forces you to make hard choices. This particular quest is a bad example, because as cocopjojo said, you can just avoid the quest, or opt not to complete it. But there are some parts later in the game that I had to pause the game to actually think about a choice that needed to be made.

Did this game have much hype behind it? The major amount of complaints are coming from people too fucking stupid to literally understand the features the devs directly tell them about. The games fun doesn't derive from it's difficulty, the co-op was always intended to be a way to play with a friend, not have a friend bring their hero into your game.

The issue with Fable 2 is the same issue that all 9-10 games have. If doesn't meet the exact specifications somebody has of a good/perfect game they feel the need to whine about it over the interwebs.

I dunno...the features list at the community for lionhead has it listed in a way that would indicate that the henchman/woman would AT LEAST look like your hero. All other restrictions aside. As for pictures of characters, I need to find a spot with a decent amount of light.

Here is the problem im having with gifts:

Still no gift.

So is there any real benefit to being married? I put an axe in alex's skull and i don't think I'm gonna get married again.

So where's that come hither book? I'm in the town for the first time blacksmithing, buying a few things and I have some ladies chasing me around and I can't do a thing about it! :(

ok, can everyone just post thier 1-10 score for this game. i cant go through every post to see if they like the game, i would appreciate it if everyone also just ad a 1-10 score to the game and at the end of next week, someone or me can average the score from this page onwards
Hey lazy ass go buy the game.

Yeah i think the benefit is you get greater % of additional sleeping benefits on the house you own. Each house has skill boosts and i think a family increases those boosts.

Teknoman, you need to have the slider line up with the gift. Basically she needs to like you a little less. Try slapping her around a bit, she won't like that. Just make sure it's affecting like and dislike and not fear. Or you could simply kill her.

I reset the cache and tried the pub games glitch but it still didn't work. :(

Do I have to redownload it or something?

Alright. Gotta do what you gotta do I guess :lol

EDIT: Damn...dirty disc error.

Yeah except that now, as it is, the coop is juste a way to hate the game with a friend.
Seriously, the single player is excellent so far, but to throw a complete mess of a coop in, after all the reviews are out, is just plain stupid.

1 -Hype your game with a unique and cool coop feature
2- Say the feature wont be ready until the very first day the game comes out
3- Get really good review from everyone
4- Release the terrible coop after the reviews are in
5- ???
6- Profit !

Blacksmithing and 4 coffee doesn't mix.

On a similar note, blacksmithing and Knob Creek bourbon don't mix. I was going for my 5 star level last night and kept messing up over and over. The ones of you on my friend's list that were around at the time playing probably heard lots of cursing. I know for sure Jtyettis was there at the time.

Knob Creek, a fine choice indeed I must say from this Kentucky homeboy, born and raised. Anyhow, yea I was there maxing out mine as well and I had the option on for all orbs. Let me just say there were a ton of people there, heh.

Aim at the person with LB then press A

No, he's illustrating the bug. You can reach someone's "gift giving" level and they still won't give it to you. I've had this happen to me, as well.

Wood cutting is easier
It is way easier, but it way more frustrating, because you can get really high multipliers - but it takes forever... so when you screw up one chop, and you're reset to zero - it stings.

What will happen if one wife sees you with another woman? Will she actually acknowledge your infidelity?

Oh yes indeed. It will be messy. Actually, there is even a quest that you will only get to see if you are a bigamist...

For some reason wood cutting seemed a bit slower for me. Of course, I could be totally off base about that. I'll probably end up maxing it as well eventually.

If you raise your strength enough, you can end up killing NPCs when you slap them.

Ah man so many little hidden gems like this.

It's fucking awesome how your body changes as you concentrate on certain skills. The manual said if you develop strength, your physique becomes more muscular, if you develop skill your guy/gal becomes taller, and as you develop will these "magic lines" start criss-crossing all over your body. Anybody experienced the latter yet? Sounds cool.

Not her, she takes it like a pro.

Yeah, my character looks a bit like Baldur from TH. I've also nearly maxed all the Strength and Skill abilities so he's tall and muscular as well.

OK so now i've got the meter right on top of the gift box. Do I have to wait awhile after that?

Focus on them with LT, and you should see an A button icon that says "accept gift" right below the Y button icon for "more info"

I have them. I leveled up Vortex to level 3 fairly early on and I got glowing blue marks on my face.

Nope, no options other than more info for me. Also im glad im not in the mood to mess with people. Tons of people right by town hall...should bust out with a rendition of Greensleeves with a fake british accent.

Think snickers commercial. :lol

EDIT: Just decided i'll only master "storm style" magics. Shock and Vortex.

Gotta say the artbook that comes with the LE Strategy guide is pretty awesome. Obliterates that FF12 artbook that came with that LE guide.

Yeah, I have used spells pretty much exclusively, and my character is covered in blue runes, like, all over his face and arms. It looks really sick. The halo over his head makes it even cooler.

Awesome! Call me Bill Paxton because I'm going to be having some big love.

Good to hear it looks great, since I was going to make my first character basically a powerful mage with some modest hand-to-hand fighting skills. Well, sorcerer I guess, since dude's evil. The next one I'll probably have dabble equally in strength, skill and will.

lol Im a texan but there is nothing funnier than hearing a heavy southern drawl shouting "HEY how'd you get in my house?!" at another orb.

Bartending is great too.

The quest for the perfect pour.

Hold R3 down for a couple seconds and the camera will zoom in on your character.

Thanks, had no idea about that :D

Also are the little kids running around pretending to play Oblivion?!

I just saw two kids run by talking about "Oblivion holes needing to be closed" and something about needing more NPCs.

Wat.

Just remembered one other gripe I had, even though it usually ends in hilarious results.

Why are your magic attacks not bound by the safety rules? Twice last night I was surrounded by a mob of admirers, get too antsy exiting out of a menu, and BAM, I'd zap them all with a Shock blast.

I was pissed at first, but I couldn't help busting out laughing seeing a bunch of little kids running away screaming with -4's above their heads.

Safety keeps you hurting people. If you'd had it off, those people would have died. They were just scared because lightning blasted out of you.

You too huh? Heh I almost destroyed the stylist shop with my vortex.

So you're saying that getting to use the exact same skills and stats as your main hero (and keep all gold and XP you collect in coop) but NOT being able to look as your main hero is a good thing? That makes absolutely no sense.

The game is fun, but pretending it has no flaws is ignorant.
