Official Fable II Thread

this game is fuck awesome...this is what fable 1 should have been...I should have known from peter's track record...

anyways, my only dissapointment with the game would have to be the CO-op...it's not what I expected....

the online co-op plays as if your offline....where it has only the one camera following the character of the person's game you joined....I don't mind being a henchmen and having exp transferred over, but shit, let the camera follow me on my 360...it is so disorienting...and it's also gamebreaking as I was in a friend's game, we were on a bridge, he happenned to jump off while I was still on the bridge, so then we both got stuck in one spot and couldn't move...

so retarded.

How are you guys seeing each other during your games? I don't understand how you keep telling each other you saw them..

If I'm playing Fable 2, and my friend is also playing Fable 2..I can just meet him in a town..just like that?

Yeah it's pretty cool. You'll see floating orbs which can be set to Friends or Everyone. You can voice chat from the orbs, view that players stats, send them gifts, and if it's a friend hop into their game.

One of the coolest online features IMO.

i saw phatsaqs and razoric and ijoel....i'm morph757

anyways, yea, the online co-op depresses me cause it could be so much better if the camera would go right for the "joinee"

I absolutely agree with this.

however, it almost constantly says "Press the Back button to Teleport to the main player" on the top of the screen... it should have been a non issue to reach your friend again.

but yeah, we need separate cameras. ugh.

Are there servers or something? One of my buddies and I are trying to play the game together as orbs, but we aren't getting into the same, what I must assume is a server.

Okay, seriously.. where is that voice coming from? It keeps insulting me but I can't find anything talking!

:lol Look up, it's probably on a wall or building next to you. Then shoot it.

The floating orb idea is great, especially when you are doing mundane tasks like blacksmithing and shit. At least you can talk to people while you make some gold. It would be cool to see this idea implemented in more console games.

I don't see anything! I mean it's a gargoyle, right? I'm not near any buildings at all that have them on it. And it's in every town I go to!

Edit: Got one! Damn bugger.

so my buddy killed my wife and now I have entered the wonderful world of gay marriage- for some reason the game wont let me have buttsecks tho...

I wasn't really feeling the game all that much at first, but now I just played a good 4 hours straight. Really awesome, and I've barely done much...I also really like the orbs, adds a lot when you walk around dungeons and see people doing the same thing.

Well hopefully that'll all be fixed with a patch. Every gaming publication plus tons of people on the community forums have been complaining about the camera as well as henchmen appearance.

If they just fixed the camera and let the henchman/woman look like the person who joined hero (with restrictions on item gain and whatnot if necessary) then all would be happy.

Started to play the game. loving it!

But i have a question. my d-pad doesn't appear anymore. is there a way to toggle it to appear? even if i try to target people or just look at my dog it doesn't show.

Yeah, it's pretty clear online coop was crazy rushed, hell it's not even on the disc. Frankly, given the time they had I'm glad they focused on the core game than tangential features. Given some more time I hope they overhall it. Hell we'll all be playing SP predominately for a month or two so I'm not exactly pining for it.

Not to my knowledge. It can be a little finicky. Try moving around more.

Same here. At least when a child. After hitting the young adult stage, its all good.

You do know that this is exactly how Lionhead said the co-op would be, right?

Well its the same with LBP, co-op is restricted to the camera trying its best to keep everyone on screen at once. My only real complain is hench appearance :D

Hope they dont just do one DLC expansion though. Would be nice if they did a series of expansions. Kinda like what Oblivion had...except with more substance of course.

Yes, they never showed it any other way. But they never spelled it out for us, which is what you do when your feature is archaic/unfit. Fable 2 co-op should not have the same camera system as Castle Crashers co-op.

My character: (Click for bigger)
100% Good
100% Corrupt
Illustrious in all but the Gypsy Camp where I am Luminary. (Which is better?)
I'm slightly on the Attractive side.
Total Renown: 18016
Total Experience: 762064
Best Crucible Time: 900 seconds
2 wives, one that loves me, the other can't make up her mind
2 children who miss me
77 people in love with me
Distance Walked: 8727
Kicked a Chicken 11 yards
1 STD probably from when I made my first baby with Alex the slut
Time Played: 55955 seconds (16 hours)

My dogs name is "Just Dog". If you don't get the reference, you are a horrible, horrible person and are part of the problem.

I am clinging to Garth's promise of (endgame spoiler)
"seeing you again, I promise."

lol i went around killing a whole village and still nothing. :lol

EDIT: nevermind it appeared again after one of those dialogue scene.

I'm kinda confused about one thing maybe someone can clear it up.

I see people posting that they saw each other in the game world... what are they talking about? Isn't the online co-op just 2 players? Is there some kind of system that connects multiple players or something?

The douchebag also says he will be back. Then again,
they both seemed to be going to the same place...a world with black folk, at that.
Perhaps an expansion could take us there?

yeah but i just like punishing my dog with one button though. every time he finds a treasure i do that. ;o

:lol I dont think i'll ever punish my dog. Wish she (thats right, my dog is a SHE, no I dont care what the game says) would do something crazy like chase a chicken, or break some stuff in a store. She's too good to be scolded.

Your character looks like he has liver problems.

How'd you take such a great picture? Capture device?

Orbs. Everyone on your friends list shows up in your game as a glowing orb with their gamerpic on it, so you can see where they are in their own game. Get in close proximity and you can chat with them or trade items or invite them to co-op play with you. You can also set the parameters wider to show more than just your friends. It's under the options menu. Check it out.

Ah I see, that is actually pretty neat. I haven't experimented with any of the online features yet. Will definitely check it out.

Maybe one expansion will take us to that place where katanas come from. The far off land of San-something.

Where were katanas made again in Fable's universe?

Jasoco, did you dye your dog? Maybe the dogs really are different for everyone?

Well, I don't drink. I am slightly overweight, but not fat.

I used my Kodak Z700 and took a picture of the screen. Personally I'm surprised everyone elses photos aren't as good. Some are using camera phones obviously, but does anyone use a normal camera? I guess it's just the quality of the Z700. (Which I got at Kmart on clearance for $60 - 10% a few years ago.)

Also, I'm bald now. I used to have a ponytail and beard. Both golden. Flowing hair. Awesome. I have to get it back. I keep forgetting.

No, I didn't dye my dog at all. I just noticed his color changed one day while outside with my family. I really like it that way. Maybe it happens if you're a nice person?

Also, I am curious about Rupert... the farmer's son...

Am I supposed to find him a woman.... or a man? His profile doesn't say he's gay, but his conversation sounded like he had something on his mind.

Also I was looking at the eyes. Maybe its the corruption?

Might be the camera then. Im using a Kodak C10 (not that great a digital camera, but still), yet im not really sure how to get the best pictures off an LCD TV. Sometimes they turn out great, other times...not so clear.

Can anyone tell me how accurate this review is:

He says that you have unlimited magic & can spam it infinitely along with the fact that you will automatically get up a few seconds after you are killed, basically making you invincible through the game.
Is there something he did not tell or is this game that easy?

Yeah, you can infinitely spam it, but since you charge it up in levels, then either you do it really quickly and it does little to no damage because it's the lowest level, or you spam the higher-charged spells, which take a few seconds, and you get killed in the mean time.

Also, yeah, you can't die. You get knocked down and you lose experience - and you get scarred. Enough scars and townspeople will look down on you. So, in a way, dying in this game is worse than in other games, because it causes irreversible effects.

*high fives teknoman*

Unlimited magic yes, granted the enemy gives you the chance to charge and use it. Same with ammo based weapons. If you die you loose exp, possibly stat ups and skills as well. Also fall in combat too much and you'll start to slowly develop scars. First not so bad, then they start getting really bad, making you kinda undesirable.

You might not suffer a true game over, but the effects of death in Fable II are alot worse than just starting at a checkpoint. So no, you arent really invincible.

I just make sure to turn the flash off and it comes out pretty good. Not the best, and I could probably make it better if I use some features like closeup or something.

Also, a tip for the game, if you want to keep the camera zoomed on your character, hold the R3 button down until it zooms and move it to the position you want. Then while holding it down, press Start. Then let go of the stick. When you leave the menu, the camera will be still zoomed in allowing you time to take your photo. Of course if you move at all, it snaps back to normal position.

Also, anyone? Rupert? Gay or not?

I need some tips for good clothes stores (I don't know why, but styling my character up is like an addiction for me in this game). Any GOOD clothes shops?

Ah thanks. And I think he's gay.

At least thats what I heard early in the topic.

My eyes turned red, too, for a while, and I was at 100% purity and 80% good. I didn't think about it for a while and I randomly noticed that they were back to normal again. Here is my theory, though:

I think that they turn red when you accept the aging process at the Shadow Court. Then, when the game ends you revert back to your young age for some reason, and they go back to normal. I say this because after the Shadow Court incident, I noticed a scar on my face (I've never died). When I finished the main storyline and noticed that my eyes weren't red, I also noticed that the scar was gone, leading me to believe that it was there as part of the aging process, and that I have now reverted back to my original age.

Rupert's gay, but you can still complete the quest by bringing him a woman. That's what I did, at least. His storyline continues by his father being disappointed that he's not excited about the woman, and ultimately... well, you'll see. And you don't get +evil points, you get +good.

Well the stand in Oakfield has some decent monk and ranger style clothes. I havent traveled much in Albion yet, so I cant really give good advice there.

Dammit. Oh well. I meant to get a guy for him, but as soon as I entered town I accidentally pressed Down. And wouldn't you know some unseen woman presumably standing near me said "He's perfect! Here's my information!" Oops. Oh well, the scene worked out fine anyway.

Guess he'll learn to live with it. Either that or you just set up a potential domestic dispute.
