Is it worth it to save those notes you randomly pick up, like the suicide notes in the first dungeon? Does anything come of them, or are they mainly just to sell?

Anyone? Just wanna make sure I'm not selling something that I'll regret later.

So I'm watching my daughter play her character, teaching her how to keep an eye on the dog (Bruno) and find buried treasure. She finds a bunch of stuff - including stuff I never found (gotta go back and do some digging).

My wife is on the computer, which is in the same room. She looks over as the kid (age six) digs up.....a condom.

"What's a condom?"

The wife was not pleased.
:lol

Did you marry her?
Did you stay or leave when the gravekeeper asked you to? If you stayed you have a chance to propose and marry, I'm not sure what happens if you don't propose immediately (because that is what I did). But for me I made the family home to be the cemetery mansion and sometimes she is walking all over the damn cemetery area.
i did but she said my ring was crap.

Jirotrom said:

Well she used to be the mayor or something, not sure a 'mood ring' will satisfy her :(
But then again she should have taken a love potion so a stupid ring shouldn't matter. . .

The game has been buggy and unpredictable for me - my first born keeps disappearing as if taken away by rumplestiltskin; I've had a half a dozen children only for them to be reduced to one with no indication of what happened. I've also had marital homes stuck in marital status after divorced (can't rent it out or give to new wife, I've been divorced three times and its happened to two of them). It may be that Lady Gray disappears once you missed your chance to successfully propose, or she may be walking around the cemetery somewhere- this is the extent of my experience with the quest, sorry :(

Where the hell is the Gargoyle in Shelly Crypt?? I hear him but only when I'm in a tunnel. If I'm in either room at either end he doesn't talk. And is no where to be found! And he's surely not in that tiny tunnel.

Edit: Ah ha! Found the little bastard. Up to 20 now.

the bugs in this game are cheesing me off a little. every time I load from a save I end up having to make a dash away from any NPCs or run for a load point because if I just stand there it will crash in 5-15 seconds. dont know how that got missed in bug testing.

Yeah the game has frozen up on me about 10 times in bowerstone. No other city does this. I can leave the game on anywhere else, but bowerstone, no more than maybe 5min.

I absolutely love how quickly you can switch between melee and range weapons in combat.

Nothing cooler than tearing Hobbes up with my sword, only to have one I knocked down earlier in the fight stumble to his feet a good distance behind me so I casually pull my gun as I'm walking away and pop him in the head. :D

ZOOM

Slash.

When they were talking about making the powers more balanced this time around, I feared that meant not being able to literally train in everything, like you can in Fable 1. I'm glad that's not the case.

I kind of don't like how magic spells are handled though. The spell selector. Ah well.

Just finished the main story quest.
God did I love this game. I was a fan of the first but this game honestly exceeded my expectations. The orbs were a stroke of geneis, and I don't know how much time I spent grinding jobs for money and I would rather not know lol. In basically every game I play I am always a good guy to the max. I can't bring myself to be an evil character ever. I got to then end and did what most of Gaf seemed to do..... I chose love. The dog was my buddy from the get go his I named him Pippen which is the name of my RL dog back home and when he died I was bummed. Then it got to the choice screen. I must have spent five minutes just staring at the screen knowing that in every other game I have played I would have chose sacrafice......every time. I just couldn't go playing side quests after the main story without having him at my side. Well played Lionhead well played :)

Okay, I no longer want to kill the dog. He can piss on people on command. I find that quite useful.

My daughter got to Bowerstone and was annoyed with the town crier, who followed her around the entire time. (I haven't shown her the option to turn the "safety" off yet.) In my game, the crier was lured to the edge of town and duly disposed of. It was pretty cool to hear the town talking about an unsolved murder while I was there. :D

I also accidentally shot the door off a house (all I wanted to do was scare the kids), and paid a fine for vandalism. That sucked. But with the door gone, I raided the place for valuables. That was good.

So yea, I like this game. :D

My daughter just said, "Why does our society reinforce gender stereotypes? Ah, oh well. I'll just go play with my dolly."

Have you noticed the little boys running around Bowerstone pretending to play Oblivion? I know I heard a few say "Quick, oblivion gates are popping up everywhere and we've got to close them!"

Is it true?!?

was the camera suppose to shake at Wraithmarsh?

the camera shook as if a giant was walking. it stopped when my controller vibrated.

Yeah thats normal

I found Peter Molyneux' gravestone in Fairfax Gardens. It reads "PDM. This is the best grave in history and will change the way people look at final resting places forever." :lol

God, this game is so damn good.

Like, absurdly good. And I wasn't even a fan of Fable 1.

I really am stunned by it's awesomeness. I hated Fable 1 as a typically inferior console RPG. But now... what a difference a generation makes. I haven't been this hooked to a game since Diablo 2.

Holy shit, I saw that grave but didn't make the PDM connection. :lol :lol Molyneux may be an egoist but he at least can poke fun at himself. Fable 1 was likely a humbling experience that allowed him to make much more objective decisions leading to the awesomeness that is Fable 2.

I've killed 25 gargoyles so far and I have to say it's the only world collectible from any game that I enjoy searching for.

Hearing the Gargoyles say "oh that's right cuz YOU'RE THE WORST MARKSMA- *gets shot*" is the funniest thing ever. I always crack up when I cut off a Gargoyles' insults. :lol

If you can look past some of the glitches the game really is that magnificent. Not only on a scale magnitude but function wise it is remarkable with how much code was put into the world routines.

True that they pretend to be in Oblivion's universe? Yeah. Actual gates opening? Nope. And there is always that one kid who claims someone else's spell didnt work on them because they have some kind of shield.:lol

Aw I love this game. It's original, beautiful and oh so charming. First game in a while to occasionally make my hairs stand on end. Especially at sunset. The atmosphere is just incredible.

Like Mass Effect though, kind of wish they'd spend an extra 6 months polishing and tidying up any glitches, but when considering the scale of the game, it's totally understandable - especiallly when you compare it to a game like Oblivion.

Favourite game of the year so far by a gazillion miles.

EDIT: Any way of turning off or turning down the 'target' glow that appears around people, objects, chickens etc? It's annoying and takes away from the atmosphere somewhat. Just seems a bit overdone, that's all.

The armor etc is in the first dungeon you do in adulthood. The dungeon is available right near the end of the game.

If you didn't receive a redeem code in the box (some CE's went out without the codes) they're supposed to have a system in place by Oct 28th to get you one.

I have to rather sadly admit that since I probably put in 26 hours of playtime into Fable 2 over the weekend, and given that's it half-term week and I have no work I'll probably put in a hell of a lot more.

But I cannot for the life of me understand these reviewers who are saying that the game can be completed in 12 hours. The main quest can probably be completed in 12 hours, but the idea that the game consists solely of the main quest is quite ludicrous. If you believe you have finished the game after 12 hours of play then I would suggest that all you've done is completed the main quest, having not experienced Fable 2 as it was meant to be played.

I already thought it was supposed to be a redeem code that was missing, bastards. Well lets hope that replacement system works. I honestly don't give a damn about that bonus disc, only about the ingame content.

The game practically begs you to play with it. The only way you'd even know how long it took to only do the main quest is if it were your job to know.

I agree. I have been goofing around buying houses, wooing women, bartending, exploring the world and doing side-quests, and I'm not very far into the story yet. I have played the game for approximately 14 hours already.

Oh, and did I mention that it's one of my favourite games this gen.? I'm very, very pleased with it. Lionhead truly succeeded with this one.

I finished it and...well the end choices are kind of tough for me lol.

For the achivement whore just save before you enter the spire (after the "A perfect word"), make each of the choices, press the xbox guide button, quit and repeat. I missed my dog damn it.

Now just cleaning up the other quests, for those who have played tons, are there tons of quests after the main game is completed? Notice only certain quests pop up when you only obtained a certain amount of fame.

This game is so much better than the first Fable, it's not even funny. There's still quite a lot of path-walking, but it's so much more open. that killed the Fable 1 for me (still liked it though). The sense of exploration is very well done. Even if it is almost seemingly impossible to miss stuff, it doesn't feel as if the game hold your hand too much (turning off the trail is a must though, that was the first thing I did in the game).

I just hope I'll be able to play through everything in time for Fallout 3, but if not, Fallout 3 will have to wait...maybe.

I wish I knew that. =/

Oh, and on the game length issue. I'm 30 hours in now and I've done around 98% of the game I'd say. Done all demon doors, all gargoyles, all keys, all optional dungeons bar one, own all property, all optional quests bar one (which I can't complete). All that's left are repeatables and perhaps a few secrets I might have missed. I'm still playing though, plenty of more sandbox style things to do. :D

I don't think there are any quests that unlock after the game ends.
