Official Fable II Thread

I appreciate that it's because I'm such a nice guy - though I did shoot a tramp to death, c'mon! - and because I have such a nice coat/shirt/gloves/mask/hat/boots/haircut/beard/physique/complexion/house/furniture but I am getting tired of people coming into my fucking house!

I'm fine with them watching me have sex with my wife, honestly, but asking me to marry them in front of little baby Tranny? That's. Not. Fucking. Cool. Executions are set to take place if it continues, and I will consume the entire town (save my house) with fire from my arse.

The Town Cryer really wants some lurve though. Really.

I just finished a quest in the cave where I had to help the lady (if she be called that ) with filling up the water jug and stuff.

I'm outside the said cave at the minute but the game is telling me if I enter then I will be losing any saved data by entering. So if I enter the said cave am I effectively re-starting the quest or that portion of the game? I had the same thing with the cave in Bower Lake iirc.

Is this a means of re-doing caves?

Have you got another quest in progress?

Yeah you always have another quest in progress...No?

It's a bit confusing but some times you get to an area where your selected quest is supposed to start (normally means a load of enemies spawn or a 'scene' is playing out), and once it has if you leave the area you'll effectively cancel the quest meaning you have to start it again.

Did you follow Hammer back to the temple of light after the cave? Sounds like you haven't finished the quest yet.

Ok, what the goddam fuck is with that impossible puzzle in the secret puzzle/tomb out of Fairfax Castle where you habe to magic, then shoot, then magic the target with minimal time and pillars in the way, to open a door.

Impossible. Annoying.

I thought so... until I realised that you don't actually have to target the orb.

The autoshot hits it.

  • Stand in the middle of the room, lightning the left side.
  • Press Y to autohit the orb when it moves in front of you.
  • Move right, hit Y to autohit again.
  • Move right, hit Y to autohit again.

I felt pretty stupid when I worked that out. I must have spent 20 minutes trying to hit the thing with manual targeting.

Haha I struggled with that for a couple of minutes as well. It's really simple tho: just don't target them manually. Point the stick in the target's direction and tap y and b.

I've started a new game as an evil character and already bowerstone old town
looks completely different because I gave the arrest warrants to alfur instead of the guard
. really cool stuff.

With my old character I had a bug during a sidequest after I'd completed the story where I had to rescue my child from some hobbes. He wouldn't exit the cave with me no matter what I tried so every exit I took from there on (including going back to the cave) would cause me to load a previous save. So I ended up not going back there a while figuring I'd have to kill him eventually since there was still a gargoyle in the cave, but the hobbes ended up beating me to it. I'm childless now... I had another son but my husband took him when left me after I tried moving another one of my families into the caravan next to his. Well, at least my ghastly looking woman is now
a handsome bloke with pink lipstick
. None of my husbands (or wives for that matter) seem to mind.

I just noticed my character's eyes are jaundice |:

Where can you get The Cliff Diver achievement? Saw a place in Rookridge that looked ideal, but it wasn't jump-able ):

Yeah I did...and then I was given a whole bunch of other quests...

I wanted to get the Hollowman achievement thing and I'm not sure if I will come across other Hollowmen along my travels...

You'll come across plenty end game, trust me. :D

There will be a ton of dungeons you've missed without realising too.

Forgot about that. I would have thought that cliff dive in West Cliff would be high enough, but I didnt get it there.

Bought the game, like it so far.

Co-op has not been an issue except for when both the wife and I press LB at the same time, or when she stays way back to snipe and I want to melee, but can't get to the bad guys. Usually, I wait for them to come to me with a charged melee attack ready, but I almost always miss that timing and they run right at her. :lol

Quite a bit way too easy, but combat is ramping up and the bad guys are lasting longer, blocking, and hitting harder, so that gives me some hope).

I asked this earlier but didn't get an answer:

When you press Y to get character details up you get three bars. The first is love / hate. The second seems to be good / evil. The is beauty / ugly. Problem is that for some reason everyone I meet has me in the half way evil part of the second bar, even though I'm 100% good.

I can fix it with sock puppet / hat game but it doesn't seem to last long. Even my daughter goes back to that status after I've been away. Any idea if I can do anything about it on a long term / global level?

When doing the “Treasure Island of Doom” quest in Bloodstone, you’ll be instructed to go to Sinkhole Caverns and beyond to follow up on the pirate ghost lead. When you enter the caverns, you’ll be sent along a shaft and then be prompted to dive with the A button. Do it and you’ll have this achievement. Also at Lion’s Head Isle are 15k in gold, 1 gargoyle and 1 key (all in the Bloodstone stats).

Are you trying the Companion achievement?

Just do one of them fart/dance things in sequence and you'll unlock it.

I just got to the part of the game where I can receive gifts. I'm having quite the impossible time with the Ruth Stylist in Bowerstone, but that's probably because she's a lesbian.

OTOH, there's a noble in Fairfax Gardens and some gay dude in Oakfield and they seem to only give gifts when their bar is down low. What do I need to do for those two, ditch attractiveness and be as scary as possible? Be rude to them? Be more corrupt rather than 100% pure?

Yeah, I like that I can help get the NPCs to love / hate her faster.

Also, for the love of all that is holy, stay away from the pies unless you've stocked up on celery. They make it darn near impossible to lose weight because there's never enough celery and that's all there seems to be available that has a negative percentage to weight.

You'd think running around and swinging a heavy weapon would help you lose weight, but noooooooo.

I just cannot walk alone anymore, there are about 51 people in love with me, the entire Bowerstone has red hearts in their heads, and all they do is asking for rings, fuck, I'm going to start to unleash hell on them.

I really hate how they all demand rings when you've never done any flirty stuff with them. There should be a "no falling in love and demanding rings until you've actually come on to them" rule, because I'm getting rather tired of Seth the Bookstore Owner.

I hate the fucking guy that sells the titles, oh god, his voice make me want to stab him furiously, and I didn't talk to almost anyone, it's all because my attraction and good acts, this should be fixed in someway, it's too easy to have people fall in love with you, I even try all kind of bad gestures in front of him, the sadface appears with -14 but the slide is all the way to the heart, wtf.

I'm not sure how this works. Sometimes it grows up after certain quests, but then after that quest I had five more children and four of them grew up... Anyone know how this works?

They age with story events. I'm not sure if you can ever get a son/daughter past childhood though.. does anyone know?

Fucking tell me about it.

My daughter was bugged (stuck in market place) for the past couple of days and now she is gone : (

I noticed that even though I purchased the biggest house there is only room for the crib(newborn) and that my daughter never had a bed for the last 2 places, no wonder she left :lol

is there a way to add a bed? I tried to swap out furniture but it only lets you swap for the same type

I've gotten to the point where I just try to sprint through Bowerstone in the hopes that people won't notice me.

I married him. He gives me furniture and experience potions, he's a good guy.

I looked through my characters stats for the first time last night. It looks like the game took me about 15 hours to beat. It felt like it took longer, but in a good way. I'm at a little over 20 hours played at this point.

But the other thing I found out was that I had two STDs. I had no idea! Shouldn't I have gotten some kind of notification? Maybe my character starts scracthing himself uncontrollably, or I lose a little health over time, or something? Did I miss the notifications? How do STDs actually affect your character?

Wondering the same thing...apparently I got one from one of my wives and I never knew...can they be cured?

Finished the game.

spoiler about the end:
don't choose money, it only gives you like, 100 grand :(

I made that much from wood chopping.

Good game. Defies conventions of sorts.

I will probably go back eventually and do all the side quests and such, i did a few but there seem to be quite a few i didn't even notice. thanks the to current rush of games, this game is sent to the "done" pile for now.

Welcome to life as a celebrity.

On my evil play through I made it to wrecked Old Town for the first time, broke into a single fathers house, ran past the kid as he legged it out of the house, went up stairs and out on to his balcony, the dad saw me eyeing up the chest he keeps up there so he started shooting, 1 slash of the sword and the dad goes flying off the balcony and lands about 3 yards away from his now orphaned child, who seems quite non-fussed by the whole situation.

I gave him an autograph card to say sorry and made a getaway with my 150 shiny gold pieces.

Considering I'm already a monster in Oakvale(it was a "crazy day" and I decided to slaughter about a dozen random people and a crapload of guards). I may as well go ahead and kill all of those people bugging me for rings in Bowerstone.

NPCs for the most part get replaced anyway right?

i have kids asking for my autograph, so i try and select one to give them but i can not.

what gives?

how do you pass around those babies if they are not clickable as a gift item.

For autographs you need to buy the autograph cards. For the temple next to one of the monks there is a donation box, it's easy to miss.

Being 100% EVIL IS TOUGH. Both my wifes always cried when I was around them, I always had to make them laugh or they cried and ran.

I got tired of hearing them cry so when they devoiced me I killed them as they were running away from my bad attempts a winning them back.

Just got it in the mail. Like it so far, easy to get in to. I like the explanation they gave in the game (in the form of a book) where they give explain a theory on why you can see those glowing orbs (xbox live peeps). It's a small thing, but I really like those kind of stuff.

My 360 scratched my disc last night and in the middle of an adventure my 360 pops out a message which says that my disc is unreadable.I turn off my 360 and i examine the disc only to find 2 scratches.Today i begin to play without any problems. The game played perfectly until i tried to do one of the last missions(the one with the Reave escape through the cave)and when the game tries to load the smugglers beach it shows the loading screen and the various messages that shows in every loading but this takes forever. The game shows that is loading but nothing happens. Is it some kind of bug or is it from the scratch?Does any other fellow gaffer had the same problem.Every other sidequest plays perfectly.

OH FUCK ME!! I've been gifting money to the monks directly! THOSE FUCKERS ARE
PROBABLY SPENDING MY HARD EARNED MONEY ON PROSTITUTES AS WE SPEAK!!!

How much money do you need to give to the temple of light to be the harvest champion or whatever it's called?

I would have thought 5k would be enough, but they were not impressed.

well... I beat the game... After around 50 hours, I still have 4 keys, 6 gargoyles and some archeology digs... but wow, what a fantastic game. Best RPG on the 360 for me so far, I still need to play Lost O, and Tales, but having played Mass effect to completion and other games, this is by far the best despite the flaws. I will post pics of various points in the game later.

UK Charts: Fable-ous Week For Microsoft

The year’s busiest week of new releases in the UK has seen Lionhead’s Fable II on Xbox 360 top the sales chart, outselling the original’s launch week by a factor of 3.81 to 1. In a good week for 360 releases Fable II has become the first number one in the UK for Microsoft since Halo 3 over a year ago and the fifth fastest selling 360 game ever in the UK (behind Grand Theft Auto IV, Halo 3, FIFA 09 and Call of Duty 4).
