Official Forza Car Design Thread

And if people will be able to sell them too, this will be a total Live killer-app. I would spend more than $1 for a customized and exclusive artwork from some talented guy on the net.
Money transactions between players won't happen.

OMG!

I can't believe people are able to do such incredible paint jobs using this system. The Darth Vader and South Park cars are blowing my mind. Fucking amazing.

EDIT: And a big 'HOLY SHIT' goes out to the Final Fantasy car too.

My crappy Samus logo :(

Oh, if MS gets a penny of the transaction, I think they'd implement it.
There are way too many legal issues with setting up a private system for transactions between people. On MS side, but also on the player side.

Didn't J Allard or someone else already say players could sell their stuff?

Simply amazing. I have to say though...once you get sucked into the editor (something I've avoided because I love the racing so much) it's hard to leave. I haven't created anything that good!!

The coolest thing is when you race someone online and they have a pimped car like that. It's a good race technique on their part because I get envious and hypnotized all at once haha.

How do you do this? Do you have to create everything from scratch using the xbox controller!?

It'd be cool if you could use a PC in some way. Perhaps upload graphics to your live account and then download them to your xbox.

This game's out next week in the UK, would you recommend it? I kind of liked GT4, but took it back because the imbalance annoyed me (playing 'guess which car to buy' to win the race or get owned). Is this more balanced?

Only for "Forza money". You can't sell anything for $$$ in Forza or anywhere else, at least not by official means.

Hitler stole my potato will make the prince cry :(

Here's another from somone on my list, which allegedly results in a bunch of screeching Americans asking to buy it from him.

This is crazy. I thought the editor was pretty limited, but after seeing the South Park and Vader ones, there is NOTHING you can't create with it. Amazing.

I think they are talking about next gen Live ;)
Yes, but it won't change anything being Forza or another game using the new Xbox Live marketplace (or whatever it's called)

Micro-transactions: Breaking down barriers of small-ticket online commerce, micro-transactions will allow developers and the gaming community to charge as little as they like for content they create and publish on Marketplace. Imagine players slapping down $.99 to buy a one-of-a-kind, fully tricked-out racing car to be the envy of their buddies.

I don't know why, it is not like MS can't arrange some agreements with developers to give users certaing rights over their creations using the game's tools. MS charges a €0.5 fee for creation, 0.25 goes to the developer the resting 0.25 goes to MS pockets and everyone wins.

All I know is that such Darth Vader paintjob is too good for my skills =(

I know, but I'm very very very much doubting it will happen. At least here in France.
People to people transactions is about the most troublesome thing you could ever want to do legally wise. I don't know how this type of thing works in the US, but we'll see.

2 things....

If your buddy makes a cool car, he can save the design for the same model...buy the car from you add it and you buy it back. It's only on the same model car, I believe.

Also...couldn't some of these artists transcribe the vinyl layers and their instructions to make these designs available. You'd just give shape, color, xy coordinates?

Didn'tany of you guys play around with the editor to MotoGP2 on XBox. There was even several pages dedicated to some bike designs. Like this one a friend of mine started.

You should see what people were able to do with the limited editor in Steel Battalion:LOC. I just don'nt have the artisitic creativity to put some of this stuff together. But I'm sure trying to learn with Forza. If MGS was smart they'd add the option of DLC to this game and provide users with more paints and vinyls to play with. I showed some of the above pics to pals yeserday and they RAN to the nearest dealer to snag a copy. This is just the icing on the cake for a fabulous racing game. MGS has redeemed themselves from that awful demo. ;)

That's what many of the MotoGP2 cusotm fansite users did. This game is picking up a lot of momnetum, and I'm hoping to see some Forza customization fan sites pop up in the near future. If you guys see any please post them here.

I'm pretty much done with Luffy, as I don't know what else i could put in (that would be feasible and wouldn't require me a lot of time/rework.)

I MIGHT try to put an anchor on top, but it seems like a lot of work and I'm not sure I have enough free decals left.

I don't even know who Luffy is and I want your car.

Damn you guys, give me some credit !
I told you last week, by combining those basic shapes in creative ways there's nothing you cannot do.

I actually love dealing with limited editors, i like the challenge...
It's been this way since i tried making parallax scrolling, beat em ups and 3d games with SEUCK ! (for those who remember)

I haven't actually experienced it myself, because my PC is a POS, but I've read that Second Life does it. I think the game is open to all residents of Earth so I'd have to assume there are players from France and that it works over there as well. I can't see why this type of scenario can't be implemented in future iterations of Xbox Live, and I can't wait for the day it does.

Awesome. :D You should make one of the wheels a katamari so it looks like the Prince is turning the wheel and pushing the car along.

The bandwidth has been exceeded on all those links. If anyone saved those pics, be a chum and upload them to Image Shack then link or post 'em here. I wanna see!

please. I can't get enough of this shit.

Insane! Did you guys see the NiGHTS car and the Jack Skelton car? OK, I must buy the game just to put a rebel alliance symbol on the hood. It will tax my artistic abilities to the absolute limits, but it must be done.

Takumi's hachi-roku looks absolutely amazing. How did they write the hiragana and kanji on there anyway? Crazy.

just using shapes and making them small and spinning/combining them.

To be honest, the editor isnt that hard...

what you need is

-patience
-time
-patience
-time
-patience
-think outside of the box and try to use all available shapes
-and rememebr...that u can create shapes that arent there by using shapes OVER shapes with the same background color of ur car.
-patience
-think outside of the box!
-patience
-believe you can pull off whatever you want to pull off
-PATIENCE

keyword...Patience.

once you realize those things, you can make whatever you want as long as you put your mind to it.

He said it took him about 3hrs in total. I'm not surprised considering how much of an Initial D fan he is, but the attention to detail with it is amazing.
