OK,
We used to get retail updates by "that best buy dude" Eric, and Nintendo ate my mother for TRU. Also, I know we've got ALOT of retail employees that post here and I thought it would be great to get regular updates of whatever you guys feel is noteworthy. I don't want anyone to do anything that will get them fired or in trouble, but if you've got store numbers, share them
. Also, if a product is selling out or you get small quantities of a given "big name" product, it would be good for us to know.
All of these numbers are relative and don't do us much good in a vacuum. If you sold 50 copies of RE4 that doesn't tell us much. How do those sales relate to other skus that we do know something about.
If any of you Retail employees do have access to numbers, I would encourage you to help us out. Especially at month end, but at the beginning of each week could be helpful as well. Basically, anything that helps us to see how certain titles and systems are selling and any trends you might notice are what I'm looking for.
My Retail Update (From the customer side aka Channel Checks) 02/22/2004

1) My local EB claims to be selling 40-50 PS2's a week, which is all of their shipment
2) On the flip side, they are only getting in say 5-10 Xboxes a week and they all sell out.
3) I've seen stacks of PS2's everywhere and NO Xboxes. DS' and GC's are plentful
4) Constantine seems to be shipped in only moderate quantities.
5) My Best Buy has absolutely no copies of Killzone. Essentially, they seem to be stripping down quantities and only carrying the top 100 skus in quantity + Greatest Hits/Platinum Hits/Players Choice.
