Correct, no online or LAN co-op.jobber said:You can't play co-op online right?
Deathcraze said:My girlfriend who walkins in the room, seeing this bizarre little creature kill everything in its path asks for a closer look to see what it is. So I walk up to him and zoom in on his face, and then he starts bouncing up and down and shouts "Maybe me be sidekick... like Robin!",
yoshifumi said:the perspective seems a little closer than halo 1 (possibly due to master chief's new suit), and it seems like you can't really see as much as you could through peripheral vision. i'm not sure if it really is actually changed, but it definitely feels closer.
The Shadow said:As freaky as that sounds, I've noticed that too, like they turned the FOV down.
I really thought it was just that I had to get re-acquainted with Halo but I felt like the screen was compressed, like that feeling when you're playing split screen. You're not getting enough of the screen like you used to.
I thought it was all in my mind because no one else mentioned it until now. I'm kinda relieved actually.

I noticed it too, but I eventually decided it was because of the dual wielding cluttering up the screen a bit.

Which was a relief in the same way.
I wrote "The first person view feels slightly 'narrowed' and gives quite a claustrophobic feeling compared to halo 1 (split screen especially)"
Our first system link, 2 vs 2 split screen match had me and my brother yell, at the exactly same time "wtf, i can't see shit !"..."what ? you noticed too ?"
Actually, he noticed at first glance, right away that there was something different about the perspective when he launched the campaign mode, but while in single player-full screen it really doesn't bother you much, and he actually thought it looked cooler.
But it can really get frustrating in split screen; you'll get used to it eventually, though.
I think they had to reduce the 'fisheye' effect to lower the # of polys displayed on screen in 16:9. I think the fov in widescreen is about as wide as halo 1 4:3.

That section and the first level are probably the most frustrating and daunting parts of Legendary. And both times it is because of the high enemy count and limited weapon selection.Mike Works said:HOW are you supposed to beat the first area in that later level where you're transported (as master chief) into the room with Brutes (and more Brutes and Jackals flood in) when you're given a needler on Legendary? Good God that level is unforgiving right off the bat.
I'm betting yes. I have a strong suspician that the narrow field of view some of you were complaining about earlier in the thread has to do with the clipped HUD. If you think about this it makes sense... the HUD was "clipped" because they were zoomed in on the screen. By fixing the clipped HUD they have no doubt zoomed back out. This also would make sense because since to me, Halo 2 had the exact same FOV to me on my TV and I would know because I have been playing a ton of Halo 1 just prior to Halo 2 and I can say without a doubt on my setup the field of view between Halo 1 and 2 are identical. Last night after reading those complaints I even did and A-B comparison of them and observed them to be the same. But since I did not have the clipped HUD issue on my set, this is logical.adam20 said:sides of the hud? what does this mean? does this by chance have anything to do with the field of vision or point of view? well im about to go play =)

No, the patch fixes a bug that occurs on some TVs with 480p support, where the display is cut off on the corners. It's not an increase in the HUD view or a more zoomed view. If you don't have this bug, the patch will do nothing for you.adam20 said:Does the patch increase the hud view even on non 480 displays?? thanks
DJ Demon J said:Going off of the spoilers I posted above,if Gravemind is trying to milk Cortana for info, is it trying to find out Cortana's secrets (i.e., the location of Earth and The Ark) to obtain the killswitch for all 11 (I think I counted 11) Halos? Thereby allowing the Flood free reign over the galaxy/universe?
