Zelda Trailer Rulezzz!!!

And the fact that Revolution will be wi fi compatible from the start means we will se a lot more online content on it. Let's pray for a Nintendo Live service!

Buddy Christ, if you were here with me I would hug and cheer with you all over again.

Please, please let this release in the US and Japan simultaniously, I really couldnt resist importing the Japanese version and I would get less of an experience.

Yes. Wireless home routers. And as it's likely free (if the DS is I don't see why Revolution won't be), paying a one off for one shouldn't be an annoyance.
Thanks.

So very sold.

Pics look amazing (can't see the trailer) But why is Link petting a Kitty?... Thats just, odd.

Well, in the trailer he doesn't so much pet one as he picks one up and runs off. I'm guessing it's some sort of favor you have to do for an NPC or something, find their cat that got lost in the woods.

I can't believe the number of people not antiquated with Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi routers. Where the fuck have you been living? I just bring my friend's laptop into my bedroom and we're getting three seperate signals from the neighbors Wi-Fi. Walk into IHOP, Panera Bread, Starbucks, ANYWHERE and your ass is ONLINE. My living room gets two signals on any given day.

the comat looked awesome. It also looks like they are finally gonna have/smart enemies that block and such that actually jointly attack you rather than waiting their turn in line. That made OoT's combat suck compared to what it should have been. This looks to hold so much promise combat wise. If they give it a decent difficulty, battles in this game could be a hell of a lot of fun.

Every fucking year Nintendo makes my heart skip a few beats. The beauty, the warm feeling, the goosebumps

Hell yes, it gets confirmed every time. I am a Nintendo loyalist through and through..

Judging ENTIRELY FROM THIS PIC, I wonder if there'll be minibosses that use your future weapons/items against you? I seem to recall a Zelda like this, but I can't remember.

In Zelda 1 you got the wooden boomerang from one of the boomerang-wielding enemies form the first dungeon.

Looks like OoT 2.
if that's a good or a bad thing is up to you.

If that's a bad thing to anyone, they'd better STFU if they want to have any more gaming friends.

I've had the thing on loop in quicktime since I downloaded 45 minutes ago.

You sure you don't mean "acquainted," bud?

I mean, 802.11 has been around a few years, but Nintendo's in trouble if the writing's already on the wall.

Maybe I'll take my Belkin to the next Antique road show and see what I can get.

OMG. :D

Zelda pics ROCK!!! I can't see the video though, I'm in a library and I have a lab in two hours. -_-

Revolution = online pretty much confirmed right? I mean wi-fi can't be just to connect to close revolutions or whatever.

DS online = I'm thinking about buying a wireless router just for Advance Wars now. :lol I was already looking for a router anyway but now I know I'll need a wireless one. *looks at wallet*

:(

This all awesome. Awesome, I say!

All this WiFi junk better work with WEP/WPA. I'll be damned if I'm going without security.

OMGWTF?!?! I leave for one day and I see a totally new Nintendo... I'm so proud of them right now. They're doing everything right, they've done wrong the last couple of years. They're also focusing on hardware power, backwards compatibility is there, free online (not that affects me but it's something many want) and that absolutely incredible Zelda trailer... I think Nintendo is officially back in the game.

Wireless routers are cheap, it's usually the NIC cards (receivers) that are expensive, and that's built in into the Revolution.

In other words, anyone with broadband connection + c. $20 can play Revolution online, even if they don't already have wireless connection at home.

I don't want to wind you down or anything, but it's going to take quite a bit more than a speech and some high-water marks to be back in the game ;)

But God-damn did this speech deliver! Made up for that shoddy Allard let down, that's for sure. ZELDA HOLY SHITE. And Revolution backward compatible confirmed? Ownage.

that link is carrying cats is probably a puzzle in the game. There is no HUD as of now remember? Link is good hearted and want to help. Miyamoto always see him as that. :)

I don't know wha's gonna happen but it seems that Nintendo is doing everything right this time. After reading Reggie's interviews and watching all that stuff happening today I can't even recognize the old stubborn Nintendo in them. I guess they had to fail this gen to wake up and see the light. Like I said I'm so proud of them today. Now if they could only fire everyone at NOE, I would be 100% satisfied with them.

Just watched the trailer 10 times and noticed Epona jumps when Link shoots an enemy down which falls into her path. I cant wait to see all the little details in the finished game.

I think the big question comes from what this Revolution "innovation" will be. How will it change gaming? Will it be noteworthy?

So much relies on this issue that I can't really make any judgments about what they're doing right or wrong yet.

Just saw the high def movie from Nintendo's site. Few thoughts:

- Swimming looks similar to OOT, even the pose and the animation, water looks fantastic
- Goron one on one scene = AWESOME with the sun in the back, I'm thinking it's some sort of training exercise
- LOL @ boomerang throwing baboon with the red ass
- Downward stab is BACK! wooo!
- Very LOTR-ish with the Shelobish scene, cool facial expression on Link's face
- Boar-jacking and running over all the moblins looks sweet. Hopefully there're more mounts you can ride too.
- Wow @ wolf scene at the end. Just a good way to end a trailer!
- If that's the actual in-game music, BIG thumbs up

It's amazing to think that this uses the WW engine, because it looks so completely different. But there are a few things I saw that reminded me of it, the running animation, facial expressions, the smoke after enemies die etc. Hopefully it's more difficult than WW and that they actually FINISH the dungeons before they release it. Other than that, can't wait!

If I had to guess, I'm leaning towards a dual handed controller (one for each hand) which is motion sensing.

That would be pretty interesting.

Since they are backwards compatible and presumably thus at least supporting the old GCN pad, they can go a little crazier with the Revolution controller. Should be interesting for sure.

The new Zelda does look awesome...

but for the DS: I'm still not sold yet. It's a step forward that they are enabling online for DS, but there is still no compelling software coming out for it. Advance Wars looks like a GBA game, Mario kart DS does not seem to be bring much new to the table, and most of the software just doesn't look that good.

"Downward stab is BACK! wooo!"

i noticed that too. i was introduced to the series through adventure of link, and have been missing that move. its really nice to see it back...

edit: I found it!

Huh, when did they leave? Aren't they tied in second place with a 15% marketshare and a disgustingly profitable handheld platform (with a decently selling alternative).

If you mean having the largest marketshare percentage in the console market then hell yeah that's going to take some work. CRAZY AMOUNTS.

I'm not one of those stupid people who are arguing about Nintendo's business model. This is purely about a marketshare point of view. And IIRC, it's 20,000,000 vs. 18,000,000 consoles (Xbox/GC).

The official title was revealed: Mower of Time. Look at the ground textures, that name makes sense :D

(Thanks to Demokrit)

Don't take it like that, I really meant no harm! I certainly don't beleive you to be an idiot, the polar opposite actually.

I didn't misconstrue it like you were arguing about business models or anything related. I felt that I had to point out that the nebulous phrase you were using didn't apply unless you speficially meant becoming a leader in the console market share race. Which I thought you might have meant but I wasn't positive.

EDIT: If curious I thought you might have meant in terms hardware sales including both markets not just console. In which Nintendo has sold a ridiculous amount (which equals profitability since they make a profit on each hardware sold), hence why I brought it up.
