The two and a half minute Kong Kong trailer will air on all NBC-Universal stations tomorrow night and will be online shortly before:

Just in case you were sleeping under a rock — the two minute and thirty second 'King Kong' teaser trailer will be shown on all NBC affiliated networks Monday, June 27, from 8:59:30-9:02 PM ET.

NBC -- immediately following "Fear Factor"
USA Network -- immediately following "Law & Order: SVU
SCI FI Channel -- immediately following "Stargate-SG1"
Bravo -- immediately following "West Wing"
Universal HD -- immediately following "Airport '77"
MSNBC -- immediately following "Countdown with Keith Olberman"
CNBC -- immediately following "Cover to Cover"
Telemundo -- immediately following "La Mujer en el Espejo"
Mun2 -- teaser trailer will premiere during the two-hour block of "The Roof."

And if you are online during that time (Uh, who won't be?), we get to preview the teaser trailer early on the Volkswagen Website:

Volkswagen, the exclusive automotive promotional partner of "King Kong," has been granted the exclusive online debut window for the teaser trailer. Beginning at 8:44 PM ET (15 minutes prior to the NBC Universal primetime roadblock), the teaser trailer may be viewed exclusively on the Volkswagen website (www.volkswagen.com), encoded in Apple's QuickTime technology, which offers the highest quality visual image available online. This Volkswagen online exclusive will continue for 48 hours.

TheMovieBox.net has a ten-second preview of the trailer up:

That looks like a BBC show..I hope it won't look that CG-ish and bluescreenish in the final version

It's a screen capture from a shitty Quicktime video that was captured from VHS...

I still don't understand why this movie exists, and I apologise if this is the wrong place to bring it up but.. couldn't Jackson just rip off old movies like Lucas & Spielberg instead of putting out another damn dirty remake?

King Kong? ZZZZzzzzzz. Unless this has reviews touting it to be the best work human kind has ever produced I won't be seeing it.

I think it has huge potential to be a great popcorn flick. Not really anticipating it a whole lot, but I'm sure I'll end up seeing it.

That, and King Kong was very much a work of its time. Its racist, sexist and ethnographic attributes were vital to its point. I'm not sure how it's going to be realized now without being offensive.

I see im not alone in not having much confidence in this movie.

At least the production diaries are entertaining.

With the exception of Mulholland Drive, I haven't seen a bad Naomi Watts film to date, so I'll be happy to check this out.

that movie was amazing. If only for the hot lesbian action she partook in.

Peter Jackson wanted to remake King Kong before Lord of the Rings, but Universal told him to fuck off. After LOTR made a kazillion dollars and won all those awards, Universal came on their hands and knees and gave him $20 million just to rewrite his 1996 Kong script and make it into a movie.

For one thing, I think they pretty much took out the natives.

King kong was the reason Jackson started making movies. It's his ultimate movie as it were. Kind of like when kevin smith got to fight with a light saber at the end of jay and silent bob, except not shit.

King kongs gonna be shit or Jay and silent bob wasnt shit? Jay and silent bob was awesome, but the finale was super shit. I reckon Peter Jackson won't mess up king kong.

Pretty much or completely? Does that mean it's Denham and crew that chain up Ann Darrow for Kong?

If there are major changes, I actually might have an interest in seeing a modern take on it, even with my terrible dislike of Jackson's last two films.

Well, the 1996 script made it online at some point, and that's what I vaguely remember from skimming through it. Don't want to take the time to hunt it down now, if it's still online. But take that with a grain of salt; my memory may be wrong, or the script may have changed (from 1996 to 2004, I'm sure there were some significant changes), or that might never have been Jackson's real script to begin with.

They re-wrote the 1996 script for the movie. That's what Universal gave them the $20 million advance to do.

WTF Jurassic Park WHAT!?

The original 1933 King Kong had dinosaurs in it. This is a remake of the original, not the ultra shitty 1979 version that removed the dinosaurs and turned the filming crew into an oil company searching for oil and finding King Kong.'

The remake is also set in the 30's so they can have the Kong vs. the biplanes scene.

For what it's worth, the natives were present in the upcoming game. Who do you think captures the woman lead?
For what it's worth, I already said that I might have been wrong.

I've got the DVR set to record Universal HD's trailer. Though, I'm tempted to wait until War of the Worlds on Wednesday, for a better chance of being blown away.

I'll fold, no doubt.

Oh, and Kong looks great:

I've never even heard of Universal HD. I wonder what the chances of NBC showing it in HD are?

If you have NBC in hi def, yes, it should air for you as well. Universal HD is basically hi def versions of NBC, USA, and Sci Fi channel shows and Universal movies.

Outstanding. They did present it in hi def with 5.1 surround sound. Other studios take note.

Skull Island looks incredible.
