From the looks of it, I'd say Darrow's neck should be broken about a hundred times with Kong swinging her body around like a rag doll.
I dunno about this. It doesn't look like much at all has been changed from the original except for the use of modern technology and heaps more dinosaur encounters. The only thing I see is Darrow's film screaming being shot on land instead of during the voyage (or perhaps both) and the ship running aground, which obviously doesn't change much since we know it's in good enough shape to depart. The special effects animation looks pretty great, but the compositing and/or lighting seems off. Nothing new there. Same goes for Jackson's patented crazy aerial camera scanning the islanders' village just as he constantly used in LOTR for Sauron's fortresses and the huge zoom out from the island's cliffs. *barf* He needs to lock that down. I fear for the compositing of Ann Darrow in Kong's hands too. We know know WETA couldn't handle the hobbits climbing around on Treebeard. That shit looked horrible.
Clearly the islanders haven't changed much, except now they look even more satanic and savage. Looks like the plot devices are exactly the same, they stumble upon the islanders and disrupt their ceremony with the young girl and the islanders decide that because the ceremony has been ruined they need the white chick to appease Kong, hence a midnight raid on the ship. I can't wait to see modern critics tackle this movie. It could prove really interesting. I sure hope for Jackson's sake that he wasn't stupid enough to have the islanders speak a real language this time around.
Still, I'll probably see this, if only to critique the hell out of it.
