Oh, lol, I completely missed that.

Yeah, this happened in my game against the Saints. Cover one, safety not even close to the ball. Hester wide open deep. This normally would be a TD or long completion, right? Nope. The safety made up almost 15 yards and caught up to Hester and made a leaping catch right in front of him for the int. I saw control of the safety being made and then perfect angle to the ball in a straight diagonal line. Y to win is too powerful.

Game sucks.

Edit: I'm not saying this because I think Birdles is a cheeser. I know he isn't. Just how stupid the logic is in the game.

That was just normal ball hawk in action. I switched to Jenkins and turbo'd towards Hester...I held Y once the ball got close. Part of the problem with that pass is that I think it was underthrown...Jenkins doesn't have the speed to run anyone down, but that ball seemed to be in the air forever. A slightly earlier throw would've gone for a TD.

actually i might have done hit power a couple times and zone coverage for my safeties. AWR is the way to go though!

I contend that AWR doesn't matter all that much to defenders aside from CBs and Safeties.

AWR is imperative for blockers, I always thought defenders relied on PRC.

This is probably why I have the worst pass D in the league.

Y works if you press it as it's thrown. The AI just puts their arms up and gets in front of the ball lol Even if you're not controlling him.

It doesn't seem to work if you hold it from the start of the play. Hit stick thing works if you do it as the AI is getting there and mash it up, but not down. I couldn't get it right every time with my non-big hitters (everyone not named McClain!). It requires some timing, I guess, but my guys never hit stick and I got them to do it on every play. I guess if it's a goal line situation, you could just mash the shit out of a bang-bang play like FB dive and hope for a DL FF.

Y doesn't work on runs and it doesn't make them superbeast at run defense. Or so it seems. I don't think I know how to do it right.

So maybe it's better to tap it throughout the play so you have a better chance at timing release, however it works I think you understand what I'm talking about, at times and against certain routes, I've seen it against corner routes more often, the DB face guards. He runs with his hands up and never turns, the smarter defenders do turn around however.

And yeah, it doesn't do anything on runs, just pass d, definitely more noticeable with zone d.

at the start of season 1 i had 2 players above 90 awr: willis and justin smith. i also have a few players above 90 on offense... two on the o-line!

Some of the issues are that the defensive players can cover some serious ground in a short time but the ball speed is slow as fuck. The trajectories need more work. I should be able to drop a ball over the LB and before the safety arrives with fair consistency.

The defender wins too much on contested passes, IMO.

That's for damn sure. Kenny Timm has 99 jump and is 6'5" and he's been out jump a shit ton of times. Contested deep passes are almost always picks if the other guy holds Y.

That's because you switch defenders. Keep it on your safety for instance, then do it as they get close to the carrier. a player away from the play. Not saying anyone is doing it on purpose, but it's retarded that failure = win

ran 5 plays on defense without ever touching the Y button at all (this is in CCM practice mode):

5 without:
1. run play... i don't notice anything out of the ordinary
2. another run player. again, i replayed it and see nothing out of the ordinary
3. pass play out of 3 wides. CPU QB sits and sits in the pocket, no one open, eventually throws it deep to the WR on the right who is tightly covered and the ball is picked by the safety
4. Draw play out of 3 wide, rb tackled after a gain of 5. dont see anything weird on the coverage
5. twins formation. the inside WR covered by rogers and the wr is running an out and up. wr has a yard or two on rogers, QB throws it and it floats for a pick


now i'll run 5 plays while holding Y at the snap
