What is this spreadsheet drama about?

Protip: Projected Draft Order is meaningless. When you are scouting you have to go deep. It's almost like EA randomized the shit. The guys I really want to take early are all projected to be late round picks. The problem with this is that it takes hours to scout that deep.

There is a cheater sheet for lazy douchebags floating around that has stats for draftees. Some people are using it and flaunting it.

What is this spreadsheet drama about?

I started scouting and in order to keep track of it so that I wouldn't have to keep going around the in-game interface, I made a spreadsheet with all of the grades and with whatever stats I could afford with my scouting points.

Everyone got all pissed off about it because they thought it gave me an unfair advantage. My first round pick ended up being a projected 3rd rounder because his grades and stats were so good, but everyone was pissed that even though I scouted him legally via the game they thought that I should take with what I think was pick 16 last year, the 16th projected player even tho I didn't need him. I tried to plea my case saying that the guy was better than anyone left in projections for that position (one of need may I add), but the shadow council voted against me.

I have since learned my lesson.

I don't remember this at all and didn't vote on any such matter. I think you might be confused. Considering livewire picked that dude who was a much lower projected guy earlier.

I did the same thing. I don't think there's anything wrong with putting the info in a spreadsheet format, that just makes the most sense.

No one is bothered by someone scouting and making their own spreadsheet. They were upset with people searching the internet for draft spreadsheets that already reveal the stats without you having to scout.

Yeah i figured something was up with the draft. Some of these early round doods that i am scouting are ass.

People (bluemax) go and look up the ratings for all the guys in the draft online, subverting the whole point of scouting and pretend its OK.

Really? That is lame as fuck.

Don't worry bros, i would never take advantage of your trust like that!

He wasn't on my resign list and I didn't know how this shit worked. I was saving all my money to resign the fucking guy.

Edit: So FA was open over night? What kind of shit is that.

To be fair, FMT has posted the times for days and people been talking about MJD being on there for a while now.

You were posting here last night. Blame the bottle, not us!

But what logic goes into this:

FA bidding is open for 14 hours, when 8 of those hours are in the early hours of the morning... when Scouting is open for 30 hours and spans two days.

To be fair, FMT has posted the times for days and people been talking about MJD being on there for a while now.

Yea, we were talking about FA and how it was at 9am PST. When did bidding ever get mentioned of starting at 6 the night before? The only time I'm not available, the most important thing I need in the offseason is skipped through.

Now my only thing on offense is gone.

We stayed on stage 1 the entire night, you didn't miss anything by missing it last night. You missed it because you slept in today!

Why would it not start as soon as everyone was done resigning? Did you miss the bitching at Ramirez since Thursday?

I resigned my players. The highest rated guy on my resign list was my MLB, Perry Riley an 80.

I'm saying MJD DIDN'T show up on the list. So I guess the only way I could've dealt with him was to bid/sign in him through FA but somehow that stage was only open for the shortest time possible.

MJD chose not to make himself available to you and you missed the long declared bidding war period. Thankfully, if you scout you can find a great back to replace him for a fraction of the cost.

MJD is bitchmade in real life, too

Did you try negotiating with him during the year?

Doesn't it still lost him as "unavailable" Luke?

This is the nonsense. MJD was never open to negotiating a contract, even though I saw he had 0 years left. I just thought it was a glitch. Then somehow he can just dick me and go elsewhere. I'm just mad I didn't get a chance to offer a contract at all.

Now I have to look for some "gem" in the 3rd round... and I'm no fucking Shanahan.

It was open longer than was originally intended. I have no idea how you missed it.

It was open for one night. I understand that's a long period of time but I was out all Friday night. Just a bit mad that the only time I'm not home is the most important part of my offseason.

I couldn't. He never came up as an option. I would've franchise tagged the mother fucker if I had the option to.

They don't have to let you make an offer. You should have franchised then negotiated especially if you knew he had zero years.

I couldn't even do that. It was never an option.

He had to have been in the list. That's the only place it would show zero years on his contract?

Where I saw he had years left on his contract was by viewing him in the roster and click "A" on his name. The thing that brings up the advanced menu where you can edit the player, look at his stats, view his contract, etc. But for some reason you can't even negotiate a contract with a player over the year either, unless they come up in your actions menu.

After the season over there is a list of guys you can resign. Some will let you. Some won't. Either way, if you want to force someone to stay on your team you can franchise tag them. That's what I did with Urlacher last year when he rejected my contract. Then I worked a deal the second season.

I understand that. And I understand that it will say "Available" or "Unavailable" in regards to negotiating a contract. But he wasn't even on the list to begin with so I couldn't tag him.

I didn't mean to kirk [cousins] out. Just mad that I didn't even have a chance to keep or compete for the guy. Madden strikes again.
