Funny how you lump Spezza in with those when he was one of Ottawa's best players when they made the finals and is still only 24. And DiPietro is pretty damn good. Brittle maybe but so is Zubov who is making 5 million + and never even plays.

I'm not saying they're bad players. I'm saying they have horrendous contracts, which they do.

P.S.-Zubov's contract is up this year, and at 5 million he is underpaid.

Welcome to 2 seasons ago :lol The fans were booing him pretty much every single game then he really improved his game (skating, and not being a dumbass in general). I think everyone loves Spezza here in Ottawa but yea, he does need coaching. He showed that he can play in a different role in the world championships last year thanks mostly to Hitchcock. He really needed to learn how to play without Heatley and I think he's done that for the most part this season, but the defence cant pass the puck for shit so no one is scoring as much as they normally would.

Fair enough. I'm just feeling cautiously optimistic and am excited by a guy doing well on our squad.

Pens have won 4 in a row, which is their second longest winning streak of the season. They won 6 in a row back in November. I'm hoping they can at least best that record to stay in the playoff hunt. As long as they keep winning, I don't mind Sid sitting out and healing as much as he can for the playoff push.

All the games are huge, but I firmly believe the season rests on our performance over the next 3 games. We've got the Panthers, Caps, and Panthers again. If we can somehow get 5 points out of the deal, we're golden heading into the home stretch.

3-0 on a current 5 game road trip looks nice and shiny. Here's hoping we can manage to go 1-0-1 at worst in the last 2 of this trip. 2-0-0 would be best of course, and isn't unrealistic.
