hmm, the pens are 4-0 without crosby since he went down...

3-0 with Kunitz in the lineup too. Or 3-0 without Whitney. Many ways to look at it. If the Pens make the playoffs, Sid will be the one leading the charge and putting up a point or more a game.

Whoa awesome 2nd period for the Canucks. They handled the puck excellently and scored twice to lead the game :O

Tomorrow is the day I've been waiting for since Burke was announced as new GM. Finally the start of the new era, the trading deadline. Rest assured GAF hockey fans, I'll be "working from home" tomorrow, sitting on my couch wearing nothing but my Leaf boxers and giving my unbiased analysis of the trades tomorrow. I'll have cheesies in one hand, the occasional boner in the other. It's gonna be a fun fucking day. Get ready Leaf fans, it begins. :D

:lol

5-0 when you include the game he missed weeks ago with a hip injury.

I feel like a horrible person for not being online to post a weepy post of congrats for Iggy on his record setting game the other day. :(

Another 2 goals tonight for a great player and aw-shucks great guy. Thanks a million Jarome! Just for you here's some pics, kinda odd how some teams seem to be over represented, must be a weird fluke.

Hmm. I kinda miss Tommy Salo. :(

And this is the best story about Iggy I read this week (unsurprisingly from the best hockey writer in Calgary, George Johnson).

nhl_g_iginla_200.jpg
On Sunday, an expectant 19,289 fans in the Pengrowth Saddledome, and a million more in outlying areas, celebrated as one as Iginla passed Theo Fleury's franchise record of 830 points by posting five points in Calgary's chaotic 8-6 loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning. Iginla now has 834 points in 922 career games with the Flames.

Burrows scores 2 goals, gets first star, Canucks win on the night he gets his payday :D

even if you don't like him, Burrows' story is such an awesome one

I have a crush on Havlat.
Tomorrow is kind of a make-or-break day as far as Havlat goes. I really hope the 'Hawks extend his deal(not at $6M per but a decent rate). I know they've had negotiations about it. If they aren't moving closer to an extension, I'm worried they might ship him out. If that's the case I highly doubt they're going to get even close to equal value for him. Havlat has been huge for the 'Hawks this year...

Trade Crosby, amirite?

I still shrug my shoulders every time his name is mentioned. Malkin is consistent every game, where Crosby is not. I just hope when his mangina heals he'll wake up and keep the team winning.

Figures that the one game I get to attend is one of the few lose at home. I think that was the biggest losing margin we've had at home too?

The guy next to me just wouldn't stop talking and smelled like poop.

After some bizarre penalties, we folded and just gave up. Stars showed up and played their game. Shame for Boucher, at least he showed up.

Shame the stars are in 11th. I think I'd enjoy a first round series with them. If we decide to show up that is.

I read Mii's posts as his avatar saying the words. The expression certainly fits.

One more loss for the Wild against God's Team - haven't beaten us this season!** Onwards and upwards!

And your "2nd team" is also Boston, so your opinion is invalid.

That was an entertaining game.

Only 3 times in the past like 45 games has SJ been outshot.. and all 3 came from the Stars.. I dont know why.. but just found that odd.

LOL. Malkin was bad last night and is in the top 10 in the league in turnovers. I <3 them both, but they both have off nights, like any other player.

Yay. It's my annual "sick day" from work. You'd figure they would just make this a national holiday here in Canada. I can't believe I'm going to sit around and watch TSN's Trade Circus all day. Under one hour now, let the stupidity begin!

Ya, Malkin has had plenty of times he's coughed up the puck that lead to an odd man rush on our goalie it's just that when he doesn't cough up the puck it's usually trying to do something fancy and so you just remember the amazing play he made instead. They both have their pros and cons but currently it seems the team rallies around Malkin instead of working well with Crosby. We need to have better unity when he comes back.

If the Penguins had any balls whatsoever they would trade Cindy Fraudsby away today. It's painfully obvious they're a much better team without the fraud in the lineup. His stock is still ridiculously high around the league as many GMs are still duped by the NHL marketing machine billing this loser as the next one. I'm sure a team would willingly give up their farm system to get this cancer on their team. Penguins should make the move today, I would.

You just made my morning. Thank you.

Can't wait to come home at 12:30pm today, read about the morning's trades, and follow them for the rest of the afternoon!

Pens are rolling and pretty much guaranteed another trip to the Stanley Cup Finals. Which unlucky team in the West will they slaughter?

Stars showed the Sharks last night that no matter what success they've had, and what the new coach has brought, Dallas will always own them. Sharks fans should hope we don't squeeze into a first round matchup with them, lest we shatter some San Jose hearts.

I feel empty. It seemed like every year, this would be the time I would implore the Stars to pick up Forsberg. No chance of that this year. :(

EDIT: Kuba re-signs. 3.7 million per. Good job Ottawa, when you have a chance to keep the nucleus of your bottom 5 team together, you gotta take it.

Considering the goaltender situation in Ottawa, it's gotta be perceived as a good move. Though losing Vermette does kind of hurt, he was solid on the penalty kill.

Murray you're a fucking tool, you just got another Gerber for 3 years.

Hopefully Melnyk has had enough and fires him before the beginning of next season, although the damage has already been done.

The market has been set. A guy like Vermette goes for an injury prone goalie and a 2nd round pick. Moore should bring back at least that much.

I'll take Tuukka Rask and a 3rd.

Murray is the worst GM, why the fuck would you re-sign Kuba you tool?

Fuck, I hope Melnyk is fucking pissed right now.

Here's some more (realistic)blunders by Murray I'm predicting by the end of the day:

Chris Neil for a 7th rounder
Jason Smith is still on the team(good defenceman, but not someone who we need)
Chris Kelly is still on the team(the guy that should've been traded for Leclaire)
