Since this is the first Nintendo league the states has seen were going to have complete open signups, first come first in! Before I list the official rules I want to say the following: Gaf leagues are known for their mature dedicated crowd and this one will be no different. We want everyone to complete and organize their games in a mature fashion. The one thing I ask is that you complete all of your games. If for some reason you cant, get it touch with me first and we will work on getting you a replacement or substitution. If we have one true quitter without being replaced it could potentially swing the results of who gets into the playoffs.
The Layout of the League:
1. We will split into 2 divisions. Preferably everyone who lives West of the Mississippi River will be in the West division, and everyone to the East will be in the East division. (Our Canadian Gaffers will need to read below in a later section on how to denote their location.) This is to keep the latency as low as possible, because one second of lag can potentially be the difference between 5 goals and 0.
2. You will play everyone in your division once. We will split the league down into 4 weeks. I will list games for who I suggest you play in each week. This will give you a guide as to where you should be as far as games played. This is not written in stone. I would actually like to see everyone stay ahead of schedule as opposed to falling behind. If you fall behind by more than 3 games and HAVE NOT contacted me, we will actively look to replace you. In one way or another, the commissioners need to know the situation to apply the appropriate action.
3. After the regular season the top 4 players from each division will clinch a position in the playoffs. Players 5 and 6 in each division will play for the wild card position. The top two players in each division will be awarded a playoffs round 1 bye (more on this once we actually reach the playoffs.)
4. We will play using the standard online set of 3 games. Every game won will award you 3 points.
Example:
Bob vs. Tom
Game 1: Bob wins 14-5
Game 2: Tom wins 13-11
Game3: Bob wins 1-0
In this instance Bob wins 2 games to Toms 1 game. Therefore Bob is awarded 6 points and Tom is awarded 3 points.
If Bob sweeps Tom 2-0 Bob will receive 6 points where Tom receives 0.
5. You will be free to choose whatever team you want each match.
6. You will be able to choose whatever stadium you want, as long as it doesnt have special effects e.g. default stadium OR the classic stadiums.
7. You will get zero points for each game that's not been played because of both players not managing to play.
8. If only one player can't play, the absent player will be defaulted a 0-2 loss, with partial scores of 3 goals to zero for each game.
9. Upon completion of the match, THE WINNER will report in the thread their score like this: Bob 2(16) - Tom 0(1), where two and zero are the number of matches, while sixteen and one are the number of goals scored.
* There is no regulation for disconnections or interruptions.. Please regulate yourself, be fair and be honest. Worst case scenario one of the commissioners will need to get involved and we will settle it regardless.
10. The prize has yet to be determined and will be announced later in the season.

Signups will close August 15th at 9:00 AM Central Standard Time. However if we don't have 40 members at this point the league will still be locked, loaded, and started!

Boy's the preseason is among us!
The schedule is made and is listed below. However there are a few things I want to hear some discussion about after I post the schedule. First off I want to remind everyone that the preseason is not mandatory HOWEVER it will be your first representation to other Strikers league members. This is an amazing opportunity to get used to communicating with your fellow league members and get used to how things work. The preseason schedule consists of 3 games. You get one home game a piece. Remember you can only pick stages without added effects. This is to keep it as much strategy based as possible. So any of the classic stages will work.
Game 3 is against someone on the other side of the country. This will work as a great oportunity to post how your connection quality is with someone of that distance. If everything goes well it will give us more options as far as directions to go with the league. The key thing is, play you games! Lets get everyone an entire week to get these games in. I want to see as much action as possible to prove that you're in for the duration
The games only take 10 minutes at the max so it's not like this a huge time commitment. Also Keep in mind that the WINNER and the winner only posts the scores in this topic as listed in the original post above.
