This is only 1 minute of gameplay.

Is more coming? Is Kojima going to play for us??? Are we going to see Snake wiggle some more?

How many more balls must be tasered?? INFINITE. We are blood thirsty!

Oh yes. Nuts will be fried.

No compared to the other trailers that I've watched hundreds of times, two things jumped out at me while watching this:

1. The animation is much less fluid and natural. The enemy soldiers (the two walking past Snake) animate like they did on the PS2. They both moved in unison and it looked robotic and nothing like they did in earlier trailers.

2. The frame rate looks like it's 30fps. The initial trailer had the game running at 60fps. That's a major let down for me.

I didn't find this impressive at all. And this is *the* game other than VF5 for me.

It still has over a year of time to be worked on. The basic stuff will improve.

I don't think it is any less fluid than any other next-gen game though.

You, my friend, are one picky fellow.

Luckily for you there is another year of development time en route.

Doesnt look all that great to me. The animation looks like Splinter Cells.

Rolling barrel is awesome.

The game has a year more development so I hope those animations(espeecialy the old MGS2/3 walking/crouch walking in there) are place holder. Other than that the game looked really fun with being able to do actions prone or supine looked very fresh.

when does crazy ken speak today?

I THINK 9 PM EST.

And that is the way the world will end. Not with a bang...but a whimper....of young children as they cry to find 600 dollars.

SPEEDPOP THE GAMING GODS BLESS YOU ETERNALLY

IM GONNA HAVE A HEART ATTACK AFTER THE 9PM MEGATON, MUST REMEMBER SETTLE MY AFFAIRS!!!!

awesome -- the firefights in this game are going to be unbelievably intense. nevermind hiding from the gekkou! i really hope all that rolling isn't waggle-activated, though.

HOLY SHIT HOLY SHIT, FINALLY SOME GAMEPLAY VIDEO. Open ended MGS4?

The soldier walking animation is straight up awful though, they need to fix it. Aside from that it's like the ULTIMATE Alpha build.

Everyone knows I have no issue with the PS3 at all, but I have to agree about the animation. The blending is much better than it ever has been previously, but alot of the animation sequences themselves look lifted straight out of the PS2 games - enemies walking robotically with their upper bodies not moving at all and walking in unison, I'm looking at you.

The game still looks amazing, and it has a year to go in development so I'm hoping the animation system is something that's getting an overhaul that we just haven't seen yet. It really shouldn't be that robotic still.

LOved it...but the animation does look a bit stiff. Not sure how they could make it more fluid considering MGS' gameplay. It's not like snake is going to move around prince of persia style :)

Yeah, the animation looked just like all of the animation you've seen in an MGS game before...not any more fluid. I'm guessing that it's mostly old in-game animation for now until it gets closer to completion. The usual jarring transition from cutscenes from mo cap to the usual MGS animation was something I was expecting. Hopefully, this will be all new in game animation by the end. Not exactly an amazing trailer, from what I've seen.

Oh shit amazing! Did you see that Gekko? Animation, graphics all phenomenal. Especially in the Gekko scene it's obvious that the animation is the same as the previous trailers. Soldiers' animation didn't impress me but hopefully they'll fix it. Graphics are exactly the same as the previous trailers as is Snake's model. Oh and that little thingy that follows Snake has amazing animation too. And I mean a-m-a-z-i-n-g.

You're trying too hard.

It looks stiff.. But you KNOW the precision will be there.

They are. Probably going through a lengthy animation process at the moment and for the time being are using recycled animations to prototype the game faster.

Excellent. Everything is going according to plan. I am in class now and just snuck a look at the trailer pieces and wow. I cannot wait until after work tonight to find out if more stuff has gotten out.

Best part of the trailer to me was the whole barrel roll thing. This is definitely Snake. Old age cannot stop his cunningness.

*edit*

Just watched the 2nd trailer. I can't wait to fight the new Gekkos. Nothing will fool them.

Made this for you guys. :D

OK I know I might get stoned and raped for this but some of the animations were not top-notch; they seemed jerky and toy-like. That being said I know the game isn't coming out very soon so there is enough time to work on it. Love the graphics <3

Looks great, although there's some wonky animation, as mentioned above.

Other than that, I looks incredible. Can't wait to see a higher resolution video of this trailer.

Vid 2 gives a much better impression. Looks awesome.

Agreed. Though the Barrell roll in vid 1 still takes the overall cake. :P

Looks immensely strategic and some scenes are just going to be intense, I can tell.

It's looking good, and I'm not trolling here, but it's not like ZOMG TEM IMPRESSIVE!

I think Bioshock looks 100 times more impressive actually..

Allright guys, I agree on the animations part. It's not ''there'' yet but with more than a year to go I'm confident that it will.

EVERYTHING ELSE IS JUST PURE SEX THOUGH. THIS GAME IS THE LIGHT AT THE END OF THE €600 TUNNEL.

They're obviously still using some old animation along with the new routines (Snake's animations on the ground which look much). Almost all of Snakes animations look really nice, its the enemy animation that still seems to be in the place holder stage. Except for the Gekkou's which have obviously needed their own set of new animation.

Remember that all we saw before were cutscenes, just compare all other MGS's cutscene motion capture to their "gameplay" counterpart and you get the same results. Also you have to remember that in Metal Gear, you kill someone and an item jumps out of the guy's chest rotating and flashing. I bet it won't change for MGS4. I prefer great controls to insanely realistic animations.

Sure it will get better with time but I don't expect a huge difference.
