I heard you can actually reach a full 'end' score like Lumines. Is this true?

I don't understand why puzzle games like this actually have an end. Sure, back in the day you could kill the Pac Man and DK machines, but nowadays with our tech, surely you can get an unlimited set of data numbers until you screw up.

Did Tetris have a specific HIGHEST high score?

Have no idea about a highest high score, the highest score I have if you don't count the startrip modes is 229.900 in 5 minute Time Attack.
Best Startrip score is in Branching Startrip, 848.160. But I haven't really played that in a while, so I should be able to do better.
