Man, that's shocking...The Twins have gone 19-2 in their last 21 games and have only gained 1.5 games in their division. They're on such an insane roll yet it's not making a difference.

Damn Alay Solar blew alot of ass tonight. This guy looks like he's afraid to pitch anything other than junk over the plate. The Offense is still ticking but out pitching sure isn't,yeesh.
Were gonna have to make a trade for a decent number 3 pitcher though, otherwise we'll be sitting ducks come playoff time. Its games like this that you wish Omar would call up Pelfrey from AA ball. But then he needs to learn more offspeed pitches to go with his hard stuff, otherwise I would not call him up this year.

Mets are officially in a slump. Its best to simply put these ugly games behind us and tear the shit teams coming up a new ass, just get back on a roll here.
And pray we somehow can patch up this weak pitching staff of late.

WHY IS PROCTOR IN JESUS CHRIST

I don't even care about the Yankees and Torre pisses me off.

Matt Smith is not in our bullpen! Proctor must protect a 10 run lead!

........I don't want to talk about the Jays game today.

Ditto, I'm not surprised though, this is the kinda of pitcher that AJ is, dominating one start, crap the other. I am not too confident going into Texas, we always play like shit there and Halladay seems to pitch poorly there and its also the place where he broke his leg.

I'm calling BS on the Jason Bay All Star selection. I think MLB just wanted to have a Pirate starting, so they stuck him in there. I know he's having a good year, but there's absolutely no way he could have gotten enough votes outside of Pittsburgh to get the selection.

I think he got like an automatic vote from every single Canadian who voted.

Good to see Rios, Wells, Ryan, Halladay and Glaus named to the team. I am actually surprised they all got in.

Where's the Evil Joe/Evil Evil Solrac/Evil Y2Kev/Evil Captain McBlack/Evil Wellington to counter the Evil The Frankman from last subway series? Oh wait, again Yankee fans prove to have a lot more class than Mets fans. :)

Oh hey, the Mets only won 3 of the 9 games on the AL East tour. Someone made a bet about this... but I can't remember if it was on the forum or at my workplace. :(

QFT.

Remember kids; if your team is dominating the NL, it's not really dominating. Real baseball occurs in the American League, where there are no free outs!

Also, the majestic KID FSCKING WONDERFUL rises like a phoenix to immolate non-believers in the fires of his mighty anger. Who wants to doubt him, and be destroyed? :-o

Damn straight!

Although like Frankman, perhaps Yankees and Red Sox fans should roll out their own custom line of wacko support .jpegs and music.

Anyone see LoDuca's little "my diaper is full" bullshit last night?

I guess he's angry that A-Rod didn't give him his autograph.

I'd get banned for saying what I am thinking. :D

A friend of mine, the same friend of mine who keeps rejecting all of my trades because he is the commissioner of the league we are in, wants to trade me his Joe Mauer for my Jorge Posada and Francisco Liriano. My response:

:lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol

This felt about right, a big Yankee win with alot of runs scored. I predicted this before the game happened---and I'm also predicting the Yanks to have trouble scoring 2 runs in today's game against the Indians.

That's the pattern. Nonetheless, maybe Giambi and A-Rod have begun to carry this team. If they're the real thing, maybe we WON'T lose today.

A few game notes:

Nick Green---I like you. What an arm! You kind of look like Paul O'Neill, do you know how to play right field?

Giambi---You don't have razor burn, your shave turns out quite nice when you do. Make sure you shave before George says something.

Damon--- You've totally integrated yourself into this team. I don't think anybody remembers you exist, but you're putting up great numbers and running down a ton of balls. It's funny how you went from being the most popular player in New England to hardly being the top story.

Posada --- Your arm has been pretty good this year.

Vallone --- You're a gutsy pitcher, I like when you come in. You've been sideshow due to Torre's heavy usage of Farnsworth and Proctor. But I've always said that Farnsworth is being paid alot of money so he needs the playing time. Nonetheless, you intimidate me, let's see more of you.

Players I don't want to say goodbye to:

Melky Cabrera --- You're young, you're fast, you can catch anything out there, and you've got enough talent to be a great lead-off hitter. Could you be our next right fielder after Sheff's contract runs out?

Andy Phillips --- You've spent too many years in the minor leagues, your attitude is what might have kept your down there. But you're too old to send back. If you continue to hit the ball like you do, it would be difficult to say goodbye.

Let it not be said that The Frankman cannot take a beating. Like the Mets, he takes a licking and keeps ticking. So to my detractors:

That is all for now, as i am drunk and recovering from beer and sex. and beer.
Considering I know details about your life, too much info. Just too much.

Where's the Evil Joe/Evil Evil Solrac/Evil Y2Kev/Evil Captain McBlack/Evil Wellington to counter the Evil The Frankman from last subway series? Oh wait, again Yankee fans prove to have a lot more class than Mets fans.
Riigghhhttt. And it was Mets fans chucking batteries at Manny Ramirez/Albert Belle, spilling beer on Non-Yankee fans all these years.

Although like Frankman, perhaps Yankees and Red Sox fans should roll out their own custom line of wacko support .jpegs and music.
You forgot .gifs, YTMNDs, and YouTube vids you multimedia neophtye. :)

LoDuca is just ticked because last night's game was their 81st. So, he knows he is basically a ticking time bomb for his annual second half slump.
Wow, Braves fans throwing dozens? Oh shoot, I guess the Mets have to beat the Braves and the great Brian McCann into submission.

METS GET ANNIHILATED BY YANKEES BUT REMAIN IN 1st! FEEL THE SPIRIT!!!

Well here's some good news on a Monday afternoon.

Pelfrey may get chance

BY ADAM RUBIN
DAILY NEWS SPORTS WRITER

Mike Pelfrey's major-league debut may come this weekend against the Marlins - whether or not Pedro Martinez overcomes hip inflammation and can make a start before the All-Star break. Because of a rainout during the season's opening home stand, the Mets have a doubleheader Saturday against the Marlins at Shea and have at least one starting vacancy.
Pelfrey, who had a solid showing at Double-A Binghamton two days ago with special assistant Sandy Johnson watching, will get strong consideration for that start, along with Norfolk's John Maine and long-reliever Darren Oliver. Two of those three pitchers could be called upon Saturday if Martinez is shut down until after the All-Star Break.

Pelfrey regularly hit 96 mph with his fastball while limiting New Hampshire to one run and two hits in seven innings. He still needs to refine his curveball, but that might not prevent the Mets from promoting him. An MLB staffer said the league wanted Pelfrey to participate in next weekend's Futures Game for prospects in Pittsburgh, but officials were told he was unavailable because of potentially looming major-league duty.

IF Martinez is shut down until after the break? Come on, everyone knows that this is the time of the year he takes his one week vacation to the Dominican Republic.

QFT. Martinez always goes MIA around the All-Star game.

Maine is starting tonight's game, which means Soler is gone. I guess they will try out Maine and see if he can improve on his previous start.

Is Solar really gone? I'm hearing its official yet I couldn't find a press release about it.

They removed him from the active roster on the Mets website. According to the local media, he has a calf strain (I call bullshit on this one) and he may be placed on the DL or sent down to Norfolk. As of right now he is gone as far as I'm concerned. :)

Thanks for the info.
Thats a step in the right direction because he looked awful last night. And looky here-Maine is set to go tonight. Let's see how he pitches now that he is over the injury to his hand.

What the hell is this crap, a lefty who is shit against rightys + a team who crushes leftys, one would think we would crush this guy. Yet we are sucking.

Score a god damn run already, please don't get shut out. Pretend that Chacin is on the mound or something.

Scott Kazmir is violently raping us. We're 3 outs away from being one-hit. UGH.

Fun fact: 20 of the 23 homers Beckett has given up this year have come on the road. He's given up three homers tonight. Not that it matters, because we can't even muster more than a single hit.

**** me.

7-1 Pirates...wow.
This one looks over.. The Mets continue to play like shit.
Atlanta fans continue to hold out hope,Mets fans keep using the huge lead as an excuse not to worry.

All kidding aside,this sucks.

Bases loaded no outs, and we only get 1 run out of it. Damn I hate coming to this ballpark. Why do we always suck here.

And Lilly gives up a homerun, oh well.

Thanks to two Burgos wild pitches in a row!

I'm actually rooting for the Twins a bit at this point. They've got two of the most exciting pitchers in the game and my favorite non jay player: Canadian Justin Morneau who is just raking the ball.

Blame Kuroyume. The yearly MLB thread isn't complete without a Mets flameout, Kuroyume reppin' the Yankees, and then quickly reverting back to Met Fan once they lose. Curse of the Kuro. Got a nice ring to it.

EVERYTHING is bouncing the Twins' way, except the damn Tigers. Hurry up and lose, Detroit. I hate your smelly, filthy city, and I hate your team full of woman and camera beaters.

Well, if the Twins keep on playing the way we have, we should eventually catch up to Chicago sometime around the 100-110 game mark and be in front for the wild-card. :lol
