I don't get it-whats so bad about picking up Ponson? I mean it didn't cost them anything other than cheap salary, right? He could blossom there, you never know. They didn't give anything so its a good pick up.

And since the Reds are in a giving mood-how's about Keppinger and Diaz for Adam Dunn?:lol

Just because a team gives up very little doesn't mean it's a good pick up. It's a low risk pick up, but that doesn't matter because the Yankees have infinite monetary resources anyways.

Jason Johnson didn't cost the Red Sox much, and I thought that was a shitty pickup. Sidney Ponson is also a shitty pickup. Ponson's stats over the last three years have been quite bad.

Or is it...
On July 30, 2004 the New York Mets traded their number one prospect in Scott Kazmir to the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. In return the Rays sent the Mets the Ace of their staff Victor Zambrano

Well with Torre, the Yankees could easily have 18 position players on their team and turn into a team that every game pitches starting pitcher/Proctor/Ponson/Mo (if needed)

You guys don't know what you are talking about. Why did the Reds make the trade? because their bullpen is beyond bad. They can absorb the loss of Lopez and Kearns Easily. They desperately needed help in the pitching staff, because the bullpen has blown so many games this year, it's not even funny.

It's actually a move to compete. Whether it will pan out is a different story.

Huff gets a single,TAKE THAT MORGAN!

edit - damn you suck Preston!!

Wow Preston came through.

Astros better get Roy O a W tonight the way hes pitching.

I'm a FUCCCCCKING jinx.

HUFFFFFFFY 3 RUN HR :D

****, Liriano is crumbling under the pressure of being on every GAF salary cap league team.

Haha, I didnt realize how cheap he was. I have Jered Weaver and Justin Verlander. :D

damn i'm still at school. I'm not getting thet game tonight :*(

it's gameday for me

Oh how I hope Willie Harris is the player sent down when Wily Mo returns. He can't even do his sole ****in' job of being a pinch runner. He's utterly worthless.

Willie Harris helped us win the World Series. What a sick, sad world.

Will someone please kill Tavarez?

Man, it's always an adventure when Saarloos is on the mound...Also, color me shocked the A's scored 5 runs.

Astros recalled outfielder Luke Scott from Triple-A Round Rock.
The Astros should have just kept Jason Lane in the majors, as a right-handed bat makes more sense for their bench than the lefty. Scott is worthy of an opportunity after hitting .299/.400/.541 for Round Rock, but Houston won't use him over Preston Wilson and they'll likely keep going with a combination of Lance Berkman and Chris Burke in right field. It seems doubtful that Scott will have fantasy value.

I don't give a shit about the NL, but it will be interesting to see what Scott is like on the major league level.

Odalis in.. game over for the Dodgers? :(

Edit: Sigh, jinxed it. Of course he serves up a HR to Pujols even though he's been shut down the whole damn game more or less. SOMEONE PLEASE TRADE FOR HIM!

After 4 months of absolutely killing me in 2 yahoo leagues, Mark Teixeira decides to tease me with a decent game tonight.

:( I liked the TSN salary cap game a lot more when I bought Uggla and Putz for 600k and Verlander for about a mill.

Joe said:
thank you oakland, and the dodgers should have walked pujols.

They did walk him but Odalis "I'm Retarded" Perez asked for an appeal and served up a fat one to Pujols. :lol Pujols was 9-14 off Perez, what the **** was he thinking.

If the Dodgers are gonna do anything this year they need a power hitter. Looks like Kent will go on the disabled list with the oblique muscle problem and Bill Mueller looks to be done permanently. J.D. Drew sucks ass period, Nomar and Either wont be able to carry the load.

EDIT: Toby Hall is now bitching about being in L.A and is demanding to be traded somewhere. Damn you Tampa Bay for fleecing the Dodgers again. :lol If Kent goes on the D.L, Andy LaRoche will probably get the call to play at 3rd base with Izturis moving to 2nd. :D

from another forum:

Haha, I just heard on the post-game radio show that Odalis Perez had a meltdown in the locker room after the game. He says he wants to be designated for assignment because he does not get any respect.

Last I heard, you had to be good to get respect

Dodger management need to do something cause he is a cancer on this team. All he does is complain about respect but he cant pitch worth a lick. I still wish the Dodgers would've passed on his ass and tried harder to keep Weaver. At this point I would rather see another rookie take his spot because atleast the rookie will be trying to win for the team. Package Perez and Toby Hall in a trade for a bag of cheetos or something. :lol

the white sox are shopping around freddy garcia and javier vasquez. they're looking for a top reliever in return. prospect brandon mccarthy would take their spot in the rotation.

WTF are you a White Sox scout? I know he was on the 40 man roster..but damn! :p

The outlook on Scott the past few years has been 4th outfielder at best...and not likely to crack the starting lineup ever unless there are injuries.

That being said, he was INCHES away from Chris Burke status last year when he hit a foul ball 330 feet into the Crawford Boxes, but was like 6 inches off the foulpole.

That would have ended the game, instead, it went another 6 innings and Burke ended up with the legendary status...

I hope Luke succeeds, either that, or someone lights a fire under Jason Lane's ass and gets him to stop swinging for the ****ing fence every single ****ing at bat. (I'M TALKING TO YOU TOO PRESTON...but you've at least been getting it done on the road...)

Morgan Ensberg on the DL. Aubrey Huff should get the majority of the time at 3rd, whcih would mean Berkman will be going back and forth between 1B and RF depending on the matchup that Garner thinks will work best. (Burke vs Lefties, Lamb vs Righties)

It's amazing how often the Astro have had people out of position the past few years. Berkman in center (not terrible), Biggio in center (Cover your eyes awful, but really not his fault, he played a decent left at least), Lamb anywhere on the field, Burke playing every outfield position, SS, Lamb has even played SS when Everett was hurt last year. :lol, Raul ****ing Chavez playing 1B last year in the 18 inning game against the Braves :lol

Preston wilson playing left while Burke takes over Center...never understood that while they had Willy T sit out. Why Trever Miller is still on this team makes no sense. Why it took over a year to finally get rid of Gallo.

I could rant all day. I need to stop. I need to enjoy my day off of work

I would continue your rant, but I might stroke.

At this point, I'd much rather get rid of Freddy and his weed.
