The Yankees should trade for Todd Jones and try to bring back Gabe White. That would be awesome to have that many porn staches on the same squad.

but then we would need waah waah guitars and the only one that plays guitars on the yankees is..... BERNIE!!!!

QFT. If Fasano can hit even a little, fine by me. This move will allow us to rest Jorge more too. Damon's a go for tonight as well. We need to finish this sweep, have a well-earned day off, then Wang goes on Friday (we're skipping Ponson until 8/5).

and then...? i mean, what then? we cant be as lucky as we've been. we need to go on another hot streak and keep the pressure on the bosox.

We've been playing well overall since the break save the Toronto series. I say we keep on being the "slow and steady wins the race" team that never goes on an extended streak but somehow, some way, is always right there in the standings. And anyway, you know where all this is headed:

5 game series in Boston.

As for hot streak, we can sweep tonight, then sweep Tampa and there you go.

Sweet pitching

By this point, how can you not have faith? All the injuries, Randy pitching like crap for a long while, useless 5th starter, the A-Rod circus. We have less losses then the Mets for Chrissakes. 1/2 game out of the wildcard. Bosox see us in the rearview. This is a team of necessity built to confound everyone, even the haters. :D

CARL EVERETT DFA'D!

Rot in hell bigotasaurus!

Doyle for DH!

I guess he was pissed that all the close calls were going the Jays way, he should be more concerned that Gil Meche sucks.

His numbers are pretty good for a shortstop I guess, OPS is a little average but OPS doesn't matter. /joe morgan.

Betancourt is an empty singles hitter. He doesn't walk and other than the occassional triple he doesn't hit for any power. In reality he's going to be more of a .260-.270 type guy with a lower OPS than what he's put up this year even. His defense however is otherworldly and that is why as long as he hits at least .250 he will be in the majors.

Ian Snell made 129 TSNP for me yesterday in our salary league and I was going to get rid of him yesterday too. :lol I think that's the most a pitcher has made for me all season...

Wooo Everett is Gone!!! And Snelling is here!!! I started yelling for joy in my car when I heard this. Although I will miss the Rally Dino

Don't kid yourselves. Yes you've had a rash of injuries, but your everyday lineup still has Slappy, Calm Eyes, HGH, John Damon, and Passedballa in it. Despite having to shuffle turds in and out at the back end of the order, your lineup is still better than most MLB teams.

Is this how you rationalize your fear? I see. :D

so if we have all those people... um? did you just contradict yourself? we aint kidding ourselves, we can make the playoffs with the way things are in the league.

Hahah the Rally Dino got around. Edit: oops yours was the animated one, guess it wasn't working at first...

As far as the originators of the image are concerned (that is the crew at LoL) it can still be used.

Next to go: Mike Hargrove, pleeeeeease. Followed by WFB.

Finally pushed a run across after god knows how many chances the last couple of innings. I know I certainly didn't want to be swept by the Cubs. I mean, how would you live that down?

Now I root for the Marlins tonight.

Mets proved over the last 3 days they are complete garbage.

NL should just send an extra AL team to the world series to represent the league so we have a competitive series.

Strong words considering your team has been swept by Houston, Florida, and Washington, and you've lost series to plenty of crappy teams.

And the Cubs just took two out of three in New York against the Mets, and it took the Mets 10 innings to score one run to win the game, so what does that make them? A mediocre team which is only winning because they are in a pourous division! :D

regular season you make a name, playoffs is where you make your fame.

AL vs. NL = means CRAP in Postseason

A funny statistical comparison:

Maine / El Duque combined in 2006:
133.0 IP, 4.67 ERA, 129 H, 21 HR,48 BB, 126 K

Benson in 2006:
133.2 IP, 4.71 ERA, 140 H, 21 HR, 46 BB, 62 K

Maine & El Duque cost about half as much as Benson does in 2006, so I guess overall, this looks pretty good for the Mets, especially considering that Maine is 25 and under control for 5+ more years.
Omar= GM of Year.

Every team is going to drop a series against a crap team once in a while. At least you seem to have let go of any chances the Cubs have to go anywhere this year, though.

So if the A.L. is that much better then what does it mean when teams like the Devil Rays put it to the Yankees and RedSox? Or when the WhiteSox loose 11 out of their last 14? Its means about the same as it does when the Cubbies almost sweep the Mets-its a long season and anyone can be beaten. Atleast keep the shit talking down till the playoffs begin.:lol

means they are improving their team? both teams are on a decline?

I feel sorry for the Mets fans. You think your team is good but they won't even make it out of the divisional series.

Oh I gave up when DLEE went down. Thankfully it sounds like Dusty will be returning next year so everything is peachy!

200 million dollar team on a decline... :lol

if the players get old and the rest are injured then yes, i'd say it's a decline. and it's not like the ****ing mets are winning on the cheap. they spent 225 million on free agents the last two years.

Which is better, to think your 1st place team is good or to think your 2nd worst record in NL team is good? And I NEVER ONCE mentioned Mets wining WS on this board. I know the playoffs are a different animal, but I like their shot over the other NL teams.

Oh I gave up when DLEE went down. Thankfully it sounds like Dusty will be run out of town next year so everything is peachy!
Fixed for what 75% of Cubs fans hope.

Also some John Maine numbers over the last 2 starts:
17 2/3 IP
7 H
0 R
4 BB
11 K

You go, kid.
