Time for Scott Proctor to get some work in.

You changed your Papi avatar! That'd be ok if it wasn't to the face of the Devil. May my Deformanny curse your team for a thousand eternities.

Deformanny is no match for GQ Brady.

I'm pulling out the big guns to try and halt this losing streak.

**** YOU JEFF KENT!

BAH! He would have scored anyways on the fly out to center.

Durr! I would have like to have seen Lugo pinch hit for Repko since he is 0-Everything it seems, since his return. With the Killer Tomato pinch hitting for Saito.

COME ON LOFTON! END THIS NOW!

LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOFTOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON!

Ever since that exchange with Penny where he questioned his effort he has really stepped it up.

Code:
WEST	W	L	PCT	GB	HOME	ROAD	RS	RA	STRK	L10
LA Dodgers	59	56	.513	-	34-25	25-31	581	530	Won 1	9-1
Arizona	58	56	.509	.5	29-29	29-27	572	574	Won 2	5-5
San Diego	58	56	.509	.5	28-31	30-25	512	512	Lost 3	3-7
Colorado	55	59	.482	3.5	28-26	27-33	514	501	Lost 1	5-5
San Francisco	54	60	.474	4.5	31-28	23-32	525	533	Lost 2	3-7

Even though NOMAAH did well, I dont see why he is rushing back when he says himself that he isnt 100%. Loney and Kent would have filled in perfectly till he got to 100%, this could come back and bite the Dodgers in the ass down the stretch.

I think Kent and Nomar is going to be fine because most of their hits were hard hits. Drew I'm a little worry about because he hasn't been productive in his last 10 games.

Oh noes, Towers is going to get another chance in September. I wonder how many games he can lose. Can he catch Lopez at 12.

It was on the post game show on Fan 590, JP said Towers should get another look during September. I guess he has pitched well enough down at AAA.

He will probably be one of the September callups along with probably Adam Lind and maybe Janssen and Taubenheim.

At least you're up. I have to read it all after the fact. :(

We get Joe Saunders today. Rookie pitcher who we have never seen before.... yeah we are getting no-hit. :lol

Did evil say I should be frickin' STEVE PHILIPS awhile back? That's it...

Here's GAFBALL TONIGHT analyst HFR to break down the race in his segment, A Closer Look:

harold_reynolds.jpg

"What we clearly have here is a story of how stats don't always give you the full picture. Breaking it down shows Solrac has been posting since Page 2 of this thread, while The Frankman started at Page 20. Also, The Frankman's wide array of posts, YTMNDs, Photoshopped images, and links are much harder to come up with than the work shown by Solrac. If they started at the same time, my bet is that Frankman would be pushing 600 posts by now, battling R_GILL for the 4th spot."

"Great analysis as always, HFR."
HFR- "Holla at my Mets!"

The yankees inability to hit no-name/rookie pitchers is something that will mystify me to the end of time.

Fsck, do I even have 100 posts yet?

Man, in my heyday Frank wouldn't even be competing.
I'm coming back to this thread hardcore.

There's not enough KID FSCKING WONDERFUL posts here.
There's not enough GIAMBEAST posts here.

Illogical Bomber-boosting needs a shot in the arm.

I am coming home!

Okay, I was off by one night.

TONIGHT is the night the 2006 Red Sox turn it all around. If we can't whoop the Shitbirds at Fenway, we should probably just give up.

So sayeth your NEW MLB Thread posting leader.

With that bastion of fudgepacking in your avatar, the Sux are in for the calming kiss of eternal slumber.

...or something melodramatic like that.

Reading the first page of this thread is comedy gold. Particularly this post:

Come on, man. They're the Mets. It doesn't matter what they add. You can see the cracks already starting to form- both Delgado and Wags are nursing lingering injuries this spring. I don't even need to say anything about Pedro, but I will. If Pedro goes down, this is a team that goes from 90ish win potential to a team that will be lucky to win 75. Having Glavine be your number 2 guy at this stage in his career is stretching it; putting him in the number one slot to go up against Hudson, Dontrelle, Livan or Lieber is just asking for an asskicking. Honestly, they'll likely finish fourth- ahead of the godawful Nationals but behind a surprising Florida team.

Trust me- everyone who is picking the Mets to win the division or be competitive in general this year is gonna be asking themselves why the hell they were crazy enough to bet against the Braves... until they're dumb enough to do it again next year. Bobby Cox is the greatest regular season manager in all of baseball, and the Braves farm system is stocked to the brim with talent that he can plug in to help the core the team already has.

Further, it looks like Arthur Blank and his checkbook are back into the bidding on the Braves. If that happens, look for Schuerholz to have more money to play with, and then forget about ever betting on the Phils or Mets to beat the Braves again.

*shakes head sadly*

Seriously... every year people kick dirt in my Braves' faces at the beginning of the year and then have to eat a nice helping of crow in October. It's just amusing at this point. But yeah- the Mets suck, mostly because THEY'RE THE METS. It's just written into their dna at this point, the same way winning is written into the Braves'.

We now know the secret to great hair! Human Growth Hormone! Giambi's steroid use has helped him cultivate a remarkable head of hair. Who needs Rogaine when you have "The Cream" and "The Clear". Giambi has gone from greasy and long to short and slick and back again, it's these variations that make him a Sportshair all-star.

Welcome back! :lol

Did ya'll hear about the little coach (in 9-10 year old league) that walked a teams best hitter in the bottom of the night with a runner on 3rd and two outs to pitch to a kid who had survived cancer and had a shunt in his head? This kid has to take HGH as a result. He ended up striking out. The umpires were pissed, the opoosing coach was pissed, the kids parents were pissed. Man, what and unclassy move that was, what a bastard coach.

[solrac campbell]frankman has made some elaborate postings this year no doubt, but i believe that solrac's veteran presence and post-season expirience will get him through. now one worry is that he may start having a social life again and that can cut down on his posts if he doesn tmanage that carefully.

frankman also has the advantage of posting before and after games.
