Wooo new thread page... Let's just pretend the previous page never happened.
This is true . . .

Mets in Philly and I'm not there to see it. Crap, can Cincy hold on and win the Wild Card already? Where are the Reds fans?

McBlack, I personally know for a FACT you'll make my life a living hell if Mets get swept in the first round so that "off the board" stuff is bull.

You know that's in a totally different context than what I was talking about here.
We are friends IRL, go to school together, speak on the phone and so on; naturally, there's different stuff there then there is here. However, I'd never post anything you said to me say, on the phone here in this thread for example (unless it was actually pertinent to this thread, like the ban bet made earlier in the thread).

But stuff like "crazy Braves post of the day" or whatever...that's what I was referring to. And that shouldn't happen in this thread, because it shouldn't have anything to do with it. It's not necessary.

As unOfficial leader of DeGeneration Mets I too share your sentiment. Such quoting of those posts back in the day shall immediately cease. Mets fans, we need to act with civility until possibly the Mets win the WS. There shall be such a great posting of images, GIFs, YTMNDs, and mp3s NeoGAF itself shall rumble, the heavens will shake, and all fans shall know . . .

The Mets are back...

Christ I didn't know I would cause so much trouble, over a simple gloating post. Come on everybody does it, no more going back into the past for me.

Also, most of the other fans here don't understand how it felt back in the late 90s (hell, early 90s) to be a Met fan trying to beat the Braves and the horrors of Turner Field (going into this year they were 20-51 there since 1997, 9-28 since '02, and 1-8 last year), not to mention the heartbreaking way it would end every year. It was to the point of predictability, which had been pointed out here by most non-Mets fans.

WOW

I had no idea it was that bad. Its gonna take more than one three game series sweep to exercise them demons.

I'm enjoying the season and sure I rub it into the Braves but thats baseball, theyre the Mets rivals-thats as far as I go with the smack talk. But talk before hand about them winning a world series though? You won't hear it from me. One game at a time baby. Because I have my doubts but I'm gonna root for the team in Queens with all my heart none the less.

I think some may be confusing things abit though. I only talk the talk when I see the team get results. Because once theyre victorious the fans HAVE THE RIGHT to have an after game gloat for abit. I'm not gonna start shit talking and gloating about the Mets meeting one of the power house A.L. teams in the world series though, thats ridiculous.

And again....I'm only going to taunt the Braves but thats part of the game. When the Mets play any other team youre not gonna see me running smack. Ask Yankee fans, the Blue Jays fans,Astro fans, or the Dodger fans on this board,I don't resort to that kind of shit. Now I'll gloat abit and gives props to Omar for the moves he's made-when we have the 2nd best record in basebal, thats a godamn given right in my mind.:)

And Siamesedreamer-I'm not gonna argue with you because I respect your views on your team, youre a fan afterall. But at that time the whole city of Atlanta must have been buzzing over that series in,I don't think much was needed to get everyone to play, adrenaline alone would make all the players get up for that series.

The fact is though the Mets came in town, the Braves needed that series badly, and the Mets walked out with a clean sweep, end of story. Speaking as friendly rivals here-I'd say thats a good dismantling right there in my opinion. Because the Braves once and for all found out who they were this year,so did the Mets.

And thats as far as it goes-in other words I'm not speaking about anything other than this series here,so some of you please don't start pushing the gloat button onto Mets fans once again.

Truthfully I wasn't even going to chime in because honestly were not going to get anywhere with bickering about this stuff. Were all fans, our views are obviously slanted, but I'm gonna respect all you freaks just the same. Youre like my little mini family when that time of day comes rolling around and we can all hang out and cheer/complain about how our teams are doing of late.

What page? 230 looks pretty normal.

Mets vs. Phillies tonight. I can't wait.

Oswalt vs. Zambrano, I can't wait for that either. We never can hit Zambrano though, but Oswalt is the great equalizer.

Is that a thing of beauty or what? What an awesome picture and perfect swing. Let's make it 5 tonight fellas! I'm bummed that the game isnt on TV here in FL... I guess they only show the Marlins home games or something.

Beckett is really awful. The Tigers lineup is filled with hackers-- JUST THROW THE GODDAMN BALL OVER THE PLATE.

Thanks again Josh. You're really earning that salary.

Eh, we gave the Phillies a drubbing last time out, and now Pedro shit every corner of the bed. It happens. I hope his calf is okay, though.

Beckett is getting smacked around. Let's go Team Filled With Wife Beaters and Bigots, I love to ride bandwagons! :D
Fixed.

Twins needed a night off. Let's rip off 3 against the Indians before we take on the Whitesox.

Nice job by Seanez to keep the game close.

The Reds have a number of question marks but since there is no dominant team they've got a real shot to win the wild card or the division. Biggest issue I see with the Reds now is the rotation. Elizardo Ramierez hit the wall big time and is back in AAA, Arroyo has been pretty bad lately, and Lohse and Milton's career number speak for themselves. The only options the Reds even have are a guy who has "ok" AAA numbers, and top prospect Homer Bailey, who is dominating AA, but probably not ready for the ML.

Actually, the Reds would be running away with the wild card or division if the dumbass manager played the best players every game. The fact that Edwin Encarnacion sat for so long so Aurilia could play over him for defense is absurd if you've ever seen Edwin play. He actually has better stats than A-Rod all down the board. In fact, when Edwin would play he would be put in the cleanup spot. So he went from not being good enough to play to being the cleanup hitter the 2 games a week he would play.

Boy, did we get creamed tonight or what?

Huh? It's on FSN. Though you're up in Tallahassee, so you might not get the feed.

Well that was certainly an abysmal game. We've got a 14 game lead, but I don't think it's time to trot the JV squad out there everyday. Did both Chavez and Valentin need to sit out the first game against the second place team? Let's not get complacent now.

And would it kill us to try to bat Milledge above ****ing Woodward? Just a thought.

EDIT: And Holy Chipper Jones!

I was right there with you guys watching that game. My friend dropped by and wanted to use Ebay and the whole time I'm cursing up a storm watching the game. What a boner of a game, yuck. Nothing like a good drilling to humble your team, especially on a Monday.

I couldn't really view that much of the beginning of the game since my friend was freaking out in an Ebay bidding way he was involved in.:lol What the hell was wrong with Pedro though? He justt didn't have it today or is there another knagging injury bothering him. He was hitting batters like they were flies.

Ah ok,now its abit more clear, thanks for the article.

Yaknow Pedro is so fragile now days, damnit. Thats the price we paid for grabbing a guy like that,he'll go to war for you but he is really breaking down alot now. He should have told Willie what was up before the game, but then again maybe he thought he was going to shake it off as the game went on,obviously that didn't happen.

Its game like this that make me fear the post season. I'm thrilled about the year were having, but man we could get shelled if the injuries start to occur at the worst time. Gotta move on and just enjoy the season none the less. Phills just kicked our asses royaly tonight.
