Sox lose two of three to the Royals after sweeping the Tigers. Rock on!

At least I couldn't watch the games. And still can't until tomorrow!

I've been out of the loop. So are the Red Sox paying most or all of Hinske's salary? The guy's an ok player, but he's not worth half his salary.

I'm not sure who's paying the remainder of this year, but I read they're splitting his 2007 salary.

And LOL @ Dotel.

E-Rod!!

Yankee pen is getting SHELLED.

Cripes, Yankee pitching went straight Beckett today :-(

Looks like we're not even mentally here...

...but at least Cano still > all AL 2Bs, goddammit.

Awesome. Wright is done after only 3 innings. This is exactly what I wanted to see going into this weekend's series.

The funny thing about Dotel is that after his appearance last night (that was not very good), the YESPN BBTN idiots were jizzing all over him.

[Tino Strangelove] You gotta believe Dotel is going to be the savior for this Yankee pen. Look at the way he struck out that free swinger with a fastball up in the zone! Nevermind the walk and the base hit... this guy is the savior.

*stares blankly* [/Tino Strangelove]

So then what karmic catastrophe has afflicted the Braves all these years?:P

If you're gonna come up with jokes about the Braves post season troubles, then you've gotta come with more than that.

I've heard it all and nothing phases me. I would venture to guess that any fan of any other team would kill to have their team sitting there in the playoffs with the chance to win the WS 14 straight years.

Boston pays all of his remaining salary this year and half of it next year. We still have to pay about 2.8 million. This move + Hillenbrand + Schoenweis gives us about 8 million extra to work with next year.

Molina is on fire. Homerun, single and a triple (lol). I need to find a clip of triple, it might be the funniest thing I have seen.

Dodgers are taking a day off and then starting a new streak tomorrow. Get excited!

Yep the Dodgers are preparing for their 9 game road trip, all against teams within their own division (3 games against the Giants, 3 games against the Padres, and 3 games against the Diamonbacks). It will be interesting to see how well they do. The Dodgers could really put some distance between themselves and the rest of the teams in their division or they could come crashing back to the pack. Oh well, I'm hoping they can win two of the three series, i.e. hopefully end up with something like a 5-4 record on this road swing. :)

let's get something on the line here for this 5 game series.

if the red sox win the series yankee fans have to sport fat papi avatars, and if the yanks win the series red sox fans have to put on mariano avatars. souind good? anyone got something else?

im throwin down for it.

Im out camping in the middle of NY, but apparently this place has wireless all over camp :D

And I got a huge TV to watch the doubleheader.

<3 Technology <33 <33 :D :D :D

But I'm down for this challenge.

Good God, they have an hour long ESPN Sportscenter special dedicated to the rivalry. Soooo awful.

Hahahaha, Tino just said the Yankees have a better defense than the Red Sox. No. Just no.

Anyways, I'm in for the bet.

Alllright woooooo jason johnson!

I'm in for the bet, but let's set a week limit or so.

Edit: actually, me being in for the bet would be disingenuous. I'm moving on Wednesday and will be away for a while, so I would have to be out of the bet since I won't be able to post (or even change the avatar) anyway.

Yeah, I agree with a week.

Anyways, watching Jason Johnson pitch is so brutal. You just know he's going to suck every time out.

Oh well, at least we'll get to face the Yankees' fatter version of Jason Johnson this evening.

Edit: Wow, he didn't implode.

So my uncle cursed A-rod and I didn't know what was going on in the first inning. Did he do something retarded again?

Nice play by Lowell.

I really hate these games. They give me heartburn.

...and ulcers. That might be the Kay, though.

At least it has picked up the pace in the past inning. From the way the first inning looked, it seemed like this game was going to be a four hour long grind.

I HATE constantly testing Youkilis. I really think he, as Fatcessa says, is a "playah."

wang is pounding the inside...

OMFG, LEAVE MORE MEN ON BASE PLEASE SOX OK

The good news is that Wang is not getting ground balls. His magic has to run out soon with the way he's pitching.

The bad news is that we've had 6 LOB already, and we have JASON JOHNSON on the mound, who is sure to implode any second.

This ump sucks.

Johnson is having a (rare) great game! Get him some runs you bums!

I am enjoying the Hinske era. Thanks Jays! Would've been nice if Hinske was batting sixth, Tito.
