we had a meeting of the yankee high council today, casualties were lower than expected (that's good) we shamed the red loyalists. they are always a threat but at least they are driven from their lands for now. but damn if that fight in toronto wasn't all sorts of fun. but gibbons is an idiot for doing that. the test results on glavine haven't come back yet, he could miss as little as one start or the rest of his career. we'll get news mid-week.

D-Backs, Mets complete deal for Green
Veteran waives no-trade clause; deal awaiting approval
A baseball source told MLB.com that the veteran outfielder was dealt along with cash considerations to the Mets on Tuesday in exchange for a Minor League player. Green, the source said, agreed to waive his no-trade clause and the deal is now in the hands of the Commissioner's office, which has to approve it because of the money involved.
Green arrived at AT&T Park on Tuesday afternoon and was seen on the field hugging teammate Craig Counsell and a Diamondbacks coach.
It is not known exactly how much money will change hands in the deal, or who the Minor Leaguer is. Green is set to make $9.5 million next year with a club option for the 2008 season at $10 million. If the option is not exercised, Green would receive a $2 million buyout.
Green is hitting .283 with 11 homers and 51 RBIs this season. The D-Backs had been looking to move him to give playing time to rookie Carlos Quentin, who has been impressive since having his contract purchased from Triple-A Tucson last month.

I'm sort of meh on Green. I think we could have done better with Wilson. :/ That's a disappointment. I guess I should feel relaxed that I don't have to depend on Milledge out there during the postseason. It should be interesting to see what we put out there...
