its not about the stats...its about the intangibles. But when they're trying to shove him down MVP voters throats, its kind of about stats, but only a little bit. Mostly intangibles. I'd say, like, 60% intangibles, 40% stats.

Nobody watched these games for various reasons (football, no real drama), but this four game set had much better baseball than what we got when the games "counted."

the sox played for now, torre played for october. of course, if the yankees don't win it all, i doubt there'd be any holding back mt. steinbreiner.

Torre pinch hit Damon and A-Rod tonight in the 9th, that doesn't look like playing for October to me. Looked like he wanted to win the game.

I want to go to the NL too. We'd be so awesome. Ortiz would have to play first, but other than that it would be sweet.
 
Peavy also got plenty of help from a lineup that has managed two or fewer runs of support in 18 of his 29 starts this season.
